Also. In the Supreme Alphabet, T is the "Truth or Square" Degree. So when she says "I think I need a cup of Tea" she's saying "A cup of T" or "a cup of truth"
The part where she says “damn, y’all feel that?” wasn’t supposed to be in the song but there was like a slight earthquake while recording and that was her real response but it fits! Ha
Talk about divine timing! It’s one of the BEST adlibs in music, imo! I literally act it out everytime! And for the same reason that Khi thought she meant! 😅
All 3, especially Jill. Add to that Can he do some Outkast, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Raphael Saadi, Musiq Soulchild, The Roots, early John Legend, India.Arie, Corrine Bailey Rae, Floetry, Eric Roberson, Raheem DeVaughn, Goapele, Miguel, Jazmine Sullivan and even Jhene Aiko.
And actually being born underwater …. Is referencing the number 2 principle in supreme mathematics. 2 is equivalent to wisdom which is symbolic to EXPERIENCE and WATER. Water takes on the shape of whatever vessel it’s poured into. She’s saying she was born underwater or born with wisdom … with 3 dollars and 6 dimes. 3 (Understanding) the 6 (Equality) of the 0 (Cipher) …. She is the CIPHER. But a cipher can be any person, place, or thing. Water is technically a cipher. That verse she’s singing about being born in the cipher of wisdom. So she understands the equality of her cipher. PEACE!
@@PrettySaditty1920 I’m surprised too but that’s probably because it’s a Gen Z doing the research. The “ Tyrone” live version where she’s pregnant is a must to watch for any Eryka Badu fans.
“Born under Water” (in astrology) “with 3 dollars & 6 dimes.” 3.60 Also the Pisces fishies swim in a circle. Pisces is also the eldest (and therefore, wisest) of the energies, having experienced all 360 degrees of the life cycle. 💛 she is my Queen 😂✨
I wonder if Appletree was part of her creative process in her early use of apple garageband, I just can't recall the time frame. "You just don't wanna get down.!"
Badu is one of the only people I've seen more than once in concert, and I usually have social anxiety in crowds but when I'm listening to her live, it's easy to just forget where I am, even her less smooth songs feel like that to me. . Beautiful artist and a beautiful song.
Erykah is a Queen and her sound was a game changer. Will y’all EVER review Jill Scott though? I’ve seen Jill Scott requested for months. Have you considered giving her a chance?
Peace to you & your father. As a 5%er I appreciate that you actually did the knowledge and gather an understanding of the lyrics instead of blindly trying to explain without actually knowing. This song is dedicated to the Gods & Earths. So many of our teachings and language in the song, you only know if you know. Haha Glad you guys loved it. This channel is definitely a breath of fresh air. Loved e everything I've seen on the channel. Great job. Peace.
Any resources where I can learn more about 5% philosophy? I do t want to just randomly google because it might not all be authentic. Would appreciate any knowledge you can share, thank you so much!
Funny thing is Erykah Badu is also from Texas just as UGK and Scarface. I am also a Texan and I enjoy you guys channel, it’s one of my favorite here on RU-vid. Keep it going!❤
The phrase 'neo soul' was originally coined by Kedar Massenburg in the 1990s to describe a particular style that was born out of soul and R&B. Far more eclectic in its influences, neo soul fused its soul roots with funk, jazz, fusion, hip hop, pop, and African music. Individual artist infuse their poetry, and/or philosophical into each piece.
E. Badu is possibly my fav artist of all time ✨ can’t wait for “Mama’s Gun”review especially “Green Eyes” that song always gets me. It transitions into four or more parts that could easily be solo. So beautiful 🤩
I seen a music videos of her explaining the line "I was born underwater with three dollars and six dimes" and she expressed that this was in reference too being in the womb underwater and 360 is about being complete
To add onto what you said about the "I was born under water with three dollars and six dimes " is that not only is pisces the last part of winter but also the ending of the zodiac cycle as it approaches 360 degrees...representing completion. As winter ends, the snow transmute into water...preparing the soil (metaphorically) and the seeds (metaphorically) within, with the water, for spring...the "springing" or "birth" of life.
One of the most underrated Neo Soul albums is, Bilal 1st born second. PLEASE do a reaction to that album. I know your Dad will love it. Thanks! Keep the awesome videos coming. 🙏🏽😁
This album is part of my life's soundtrack. It's amazing how music can make you time travel. I feel like a wide eyed teenager all over again when I hear this song
Gotta be one of the grooviest basslines of all time, so simple but one of my all time favs. Didn't Cha Know is up there for me too. I see you reacted to a Big KRIT song, please please PLEASE do a reaction to Bigger Picture by him. One of my favourite songs ever and it doesn't get nearly enough credit for how beautiful it is. The lyrics, the beat, the flows...basically a perfect song imo.
This had me teary eyed. The appreciation for the amazing talent that's Erykah Badu ...can't wait for Mama's Gun. Just don't miss out on the other gems on Baduizm♥️
Pops! Erykah has this effect on men. On people lol. Yes we love her like crazy. One more thing on three dollars and six dimes, 360° is broken down into three. 120 knowledge, 120 wisdom and 120 understanding. Just another part of the 5% philosophy. Erykah is a queen. Y'all are two of the coolest on RU-vid.
Hello Kai and Dad! Let me tell you that the world is United when it comes to music through vibrational energy! These reviews from beautiful humans like you two, is what we appreciate because all we want is to be listened to and to have an idea of what its really like. Coming from the SOUTH especially! ...H-TOWN Born and Raised.😎 Yall should visit Houston soon! Keep up the Great Work.
Not heard music like that for a while, wow! Absolutely beautiful voice. Hey Kai's dad 🤘......😁 Appreciate your father everyday, he's awesome. I love the music you play but I also watch because of the lovely relationship you two have.....I would of loved that growing up, fathers are so important to family mechanics 🤘 Just had to interject saw my error ...Kai's dad's dad but corrected it...you know what I meant 🤣 Kai's dad 😁
She actually explained the "3 dollars and 6 dimes" on her "Live" album, before she started the song, "Ye-Yo". "It represents Life." - Erykah Badu ❤ OMFG that's also the album with "Tyrone" on it! You guys should react to that! 😂🤣
Lovedddd this. Can’t get enough of Erykah Badu, she’s such a legend! But I’d love to see Dad’s reaction to some Maxwell, Jill Scott or even Groove Theory ❤ be blessed.
I prefer Baduizm live. That live album is amazing. So good. I saw her live in Amsterdam with the Mama's Gun tour. She's great live. Nothing of her later work beats her first album though imo. Btw on the Baduizm live album she also explains everything about the numbers and symbols.
Love how open minded ya dad is and how he intakes the music and gives honest raw feedback doesn’t come of forced and when he’s blown away is even better good job guys
Had my fingers crossed you'd react to "...& On" (from Mama's Gun), as well. The songs flow beautifully together... good video, regardless. Absolutely stoked for the upcoming Erykah full album reaction video. Her music is really something else.
Loved this song❤. It first came out when I was like 15, yeah I know Im old, but yeah this song is incredible....imagine how we felt when we first heard it
On and On will always be a classic my goodness. I love the “ … & On Reprise” I play that at least once a week..at least lol Didn’t you know!!! OMG …the whole album mamas gun loved it still bump in 2022…all her albums really ❤. Love your dad he’s amazing 👏🏾 you’re both right with her theory of God!
Erikah can't be touched!! She is my favorite most beautiful singer. Artist singer entertainer of all time. Her music is timeless her voice is magical . It's angelic. Can't nobody compare .... Nobody. !!! Anyone can duplicate Beyonce's voice, not this lady right here. . And she's such a lyricist, she doesn't steal people's music . She's a true artist!!
Watching y’all listening to the song gave me soooooo much joy! Lol I loved seeing y’all facial expressions while experiencing her artistry it’s super dope! The breakdown of the lyrics I really appreciated that as well and the respect for the music as a whole! I just loved this video🥰 Much respect gentlemen.
Tell your dad Erykah Badu is from Dallas, Tx she has a southern accent.. lol .. we never notice the “r” until someone points it out lmao! I love how he loves and appreciated this song ❤
The 360 = complete circle. Meaning 360 degrees of life. Erika explained this represents the ankh or key of life is an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol used in Egyptian art and writing to represent the word for "life" and, by extension, as a symbol of life itself.
I’ve been going through a rough time and watching your videos always brings a smile to my face. Thanks for sharing this content. You two are the best! I love the genuine reactions to the amazing music choices! Now I’m gonna play this song on repeat for the day. “The world keeps turning, what a day, what a day” was such a timely reminder for what I’ve been dealing with. This life thing is a lot but music (and music lovers like yourself) make it a little better.
D@mn, Pop! I've always loved this cd & still listen to it, BUT, @ 8:05 I just realized what "if we were made in his image, then call us by our names.), you explained that perfectly. Both of you explained a lot. I love your channel. Thanks
