This is one of the most important albums in the history of music. The world was ready to be done with West after the T. swift fiasco, and he emerged from exile to bless us with this masterpiece- solidifying himself as the greatest artist of his generation and elevating the genre in the process.
Kanye is very similar to Trump, which is probably why he has such a respect and admiration for him. Both some of the most important figures in modern history.
If only they made time machines. I’d be lacing up some black cement 3s right now, getting ready for school 😂. My uncle was a real sneakerhead and a Kanye fan. He got me dripped for 10th grade.
I believe Rick Ross originally wrote a different verse for Devil in a New Dress, but after Kanye heard his first verse he basically told him he could do better and really pushed Rick Ross to write one of his best verses hence the version on the actual album.
Crazy that your dad picked up on a Smokey Robinson feel for Devil in a New Dress cuz his song Will you Love me Tomorrow is the song sampled for the beat. He’s been sampled so many times in rap songs which is a testament to how timeless his music is. Good ear
Experiencing Kanye’s art through fresh ears is always a great experience. I always enjoy Mike’s honest take and your genuine relationship comes through. Keep going! I can’t wait for Yeezus! Let’s go!
Unlike most people it took awhile for me to truly appreciate this album. As a huge Kanye fan this album has always alluded me and never been anywhere near my favorite. But sometime last year I listened to it again and everything just clicked. All that to say it’s an Amazing album. While still not my favorite I’ve gained a new appreciation for it. And also Runaway is one the best songs ever made.
"I just needed time alone, with my own thoughts Got treasures in my mind but couldn't open up my own vault My childlike creativity, purity and honesty Is honestly being crowded by these grown thoughts Reality is catching up with me Taking my inner child, I'm fighting for custody With these responsibilities that they entrusted me As I look down at my diamond encrusted piece" Those are my favorite Kanye lyrics of all time
He mastered that feeling so well. First time I heared MBDTF I felt it, but then it just amped up with each subsequent album. TLOP does it very well, but I would say Yeezus is where he puts a show on how to make chaos with rap music. I literally cant believe how ahead of their time those albums were. While everyone was making club bangers Kanye came and startled us with chaos.
The piano in Blame Game is actually all Aphex Twin, an experimental electronic artist from the 90s. The song is Avril 14th, a beautiful song on its own that's used so well.
Noooooo😭😭 Rick Ross had the best feature on the album. One of the greatest features ever. Cant believe he feels that way smh “CHERRY RED CHARIOT, EXCESS IS JUST MY CHARACTER”
I really would love to see your dad react or even in your own time, Your Dad needs to see the short film that Kanye made for this album, it really made me a believer of Kanye.
Even though it's not my favorite Kanye album, it feels his most creative and artistic work by far. This album ages like fine wine and will be regarded as one of the best albums of all time regardless of genre. Great rection
Banger video, i like how dad hit the nail right on the head with these song descriptions just after one listen, would love to see enter the wu-tang, all eyez on me or illmatic next
Ooo Pink Friday by Nicki minaj would be a good album to react to. One of the best debut albums or her sophomore album ‘the pink print’ it’s a lot more emotional and personal.
Funny I've came back to watch all of your Kanye West album reactions in full like 5 times now lol.. I just love listening to full albums with you guys! Especially Kanye ❤
can i still watch the others kanye episodes (outside youtube)??? i discovered your channel recently and i dont want miss some episodes! love you, and the content
here's a little EPIC ALBUM LIST to know before die Flume - SKIN (grammy winner album) The midnight - Endless Summer AND Days of Thunder Anderson paak - ventura AND malibu Mid air thief - Crumbling Justice - Justice AND Woman
This album is so fiiiiiiirrrree during the beginning of sunrise in the morning...Hell of A Life reminds me of the dark side of the song by Frank Ocean "Monks" like a guy on a girl on a crazy adventure but Monks is more on the Light side of life. Idk i just thought about that
Regarding All of the Lights: Rihanna sang it at the SB halftime show this year. Maybe that’s clouding your thoughts on the songs familiarity cus it hasn’t been used in commercials. It’s been on the radio a lot and played a lot by people haha. That’s prolly where you heard it
The daughter he was talking about in all of the lights was actually about hip hop and his placement in it. He won’t let the Taylor swift incident stop him
The best thing about this album is that Kanye made it out of spite to shut up everyone that was clamoring for him to go back to “rapping” and “the old Kanye.”
