Dad Reacts to Tame Impala - Currents 

I was a teenager when I heard this album for the first time and I had in my head "This is how music should sound"

So glad the first song I heard from this was The Less I Know the Better because it made me go and listen to the full album, and I realized that’s not even close to the best song on it. Not a huge Tame Impala fan but I’ll always love Currents.

The bond you two have is so pure and heartwarming - I hope to keep that with my own kids as they’re in their teens and early twenties now. It’s what makes watching these reactions so engaging. Can’t wait to see what Dad thinks of InnerSpeaker, The Slow Rush and his 2008-2009 songs. Life changing/ life enhancing music. Parker is probably one of the most underrated and most brilliant composers/musician/lyricist we may have to listen to in modern times.

I had the DJs play "The Less I Know The Better" at my high school final dance in 2020 and the fact that EVERYONE got up and vibed sticks with me to this day. It's become a core memory for me. He's an incredible artist.

Eventually is my favorite song on the album. The Less I Know the Better is probably a perfect song. So catchy and relatable. Disciples is a dark horse for me, it just hits me different. Great reaction as always!

I'm so glad you guys love love/paranoia. It's def one of my favorite songs of his, and has a strong meaning behind it. definitely underrated.

omg that Love/Paranoia was EXACTLY my interpretation too, so cool to see! I also love that line toward the end "I didn't care if it was day or night the world was right where I wanted", like to me day/night is a metaphor for being kept "in the dark" or being "enlightened" on what she was thinking, and he comes to the realization that even if he didn't know every last detail about her feelings for him, he knew for sure that he was happy in that moment by the ocean :') great video!

I love the dynamic you have with your Father. Congrats on beating whichever demons you were fighting. We all have our own, and not all of us overcome them. I really feel that love/paranoia. My wife left me but we got back together. I loved her but I was paranoid about who she would message on messenger or whatever. I would look at her messages. I would fight with her because of jealousy. And she ended up leaving again. After 11 years together. The end of the song about being on the ocean was like damn we had good times together. So happy. But months later we got back and are stronger than ever.

Slow Rush I think has a much more compelling wrap while still being vague enough to be universal. You'll love it Dad!

This is the first video of yours that I've watched and I absolutely loved it! My favorite Tame album changes almost daily, but Currents really is the perfect album, imo. Great review. Kevin is a musical genius. You should do a review of his last album The Slow Rush. I had the pleasure of seeing him at his concert in Melbourne last month. Definitely worth watching him play live.

This album came out a week after I broke up with my girlfriend, it was a hard break up. I played this album and it just fed into all the pain I was going through, Yes, I’m Changing hit me so hard and deep. And then into Eventually and the rest of the album, for three months non stop I played this album. My ex came to see me four months later and we were saying our goodbyes for good. In that moment we realized we couldn’t live without each other, we were both willing to fix the things that broke us apart, 10 years later we are married with two beautiful children and I pay thanks to this album for helping me mature and grow from. Music can really be the cure for our problems or hardships. Great reaction video I will be following for more. Thanks to the both of you, love the relationship you both have. Rock on!🤘🏾 And yes, this is definitely one of my favorite albums of all time.

Unfortunately, this album is when I lost interest in Tame Impala. It’s just too different from the first two albums. I’m happy for him that it’s so popular, but I miss lonerism style music.

definitely the weakest album but let it happen, eventually, the less i know the beter, disciples, reality in motion and new person same old mistakes make it kind of buyable
