Oh my. I was a big fan of your dads and an avid viewer of his videos. I'm so sorry for your loss. He will be missed. Continuing his channel is just such a wonderful and thoughtful way to honor his memory. God bless you and your family.
I was going thru my History on RU-vid videos that I had liked and it went back YEARS, all the way back to this fine man cooking. Somehow I had lost this channel then there it was in my history!! :( Then learned Mr. Tom had passed away. My gosh he was sooo good!! But we have his many wonderful videos to remind us of his yummy meals! Thank you Sir for all the happiness you brought our way!!
I was looking for a recipe today and stumbled upon your dad RU-vid channel. I plan on making the steak tonight.. I know it’s been a while.. please except my deepest condolences so sorry for your loss .. i’m sure you have some amazing memories❤️..the recipes look awesome I will definitely try them out..
How nice to see you've kept your daddy's channel up. He was so kind and encouraging to me when I started my channel. Hearty and delicious looking meal!
Im really sick and figured some chicken soup would be nice. Found your Pops recipe here and Im trying it tonight. Thanks Old Man. Youre still here helping others. God bless
The Old Man was awesome! Maybe at some point you could talk about your dad and his life in the kitchen. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to hear about it.
Looks Fricken Delicious....and easy to prepare . Thanks , this bid will come in handy with my two boys. It's hard being a single Dad. We really need to tip our hats off Mom's everywhere... thank you ladies.
Great minds think alike! This is one of my favorite meals, too. I add the grated cheese along with the powdered stuff and give her a good stir. Oh yeah, baby!
Sorry to hear Old man Cooking has passed. I enjoy this videos and recipes. I have his Vietnamese style baby back ribs marinating. Just made his Vietnamese Cameral Sauce. You all be Blessed.
I found your dad’s channel looking for a good fried catfish recipe. It was the best catfish I ever ate. I’m sorry for your loss your dad was a great cook and I’m sure he was a good guy
WOW!!!!!!! This caught me off guard. Your dad Tom was beyond awesome :-) He is still in my Wall Of Fame Feature Channel list :-) It was always great corresponding with him :-) That looks delicious :-) Of course it is as it is your dads recipe :-) A "BIG" thumbs up :-) What is your name? ROCK ON!!!!!!!
I make something similar to this at least twice a month. Sorry for the loss of your pop, I just started watching his videos after they started popping up on my feed .
I only just found this channel a few minutes ago while searching for a Brussels sprouts recipe, and I’m very sad to hear of his passing. I was hoping he’d see my comment. 😢
I thought about the old man today.. Wondered why I hadn't watched or seen any videos in what seems like forever. Then I read some comments and realized what happened. I'm sure he is looking down smiling anytime we use one of his recipes. Best cooking channel on RU-vid. Rip to the old man!!
I was wondering if this was going to have anything healthy, then the jalapeno pepper was added. It's green so it has to be healthy. I really like this, easy and tasty. Thanks.
We had a basic salad with it, but wanted to showcase the main entree as a starting point for a meal. I like that rule: If it's green, it's healthy haha!
Best hamburger helper ever. lol For sure. Better with shells and cheese. I got one for you try. Used to do this camping because it's easy or in my younger days drunk when get starved and need to eat fast. 1 box shells and cheese, cooked and ready, add and stir in 1 can dinty moore beef stew. Bread and butter camp grub.
I use Mac n cheese in a box as a base all the time. Guess what. Nobody knows that's what it was when I'm done with it. - I make this and also add any extra cheese slices I have around. Cheddar, swiss, doesn't matter.
Well, it was half a stick in this case per the directions, but there are no rules here. With the fat from the beef I would think 2 tbsp might be just right!
near effortless and quick which is the point . I’d do like this recipe except I’d make my own Mac n cheese which Martha Stewart has an easy one for that. Would’ve liked to hear more if those “anything you want to add on” ideas at the end there- I’m not that seasoned in cooking- I liked your suggestions though
Hi Missy, I think I got a bit tongue-tied there. :) Corn, tomatoes, green chilies, jalapenos, bacon, salsa. Any of these things would be great. I reproduced this one exactly how my father made it when my brother and I were children. Gourmet Mac and cheese would be great!
OldManCooking Because I was so busy on the go I did t take time to say a little more about how I really like this recipe and it came in the nick of time right after I made Mac n cheese for the first time from Martha’s video and wanted to put hamburger in it. I like how you said the different ratio of hamburger and what to do . Never knew about that. The cheap macaroni worries me with the chemicals that interrupt body chemistry. I love comfort food so I try to make it from scratch since it’s already so plumping. :)
@@OldManCookin Your dad's accent sounded familiar, I grew up in Gainesville. There were a lot of local foods unique to that area. One thing I've never located is a sauce for BBQ chicken. I don't know the name or ingredients. I guess it had water, vinegar, chicken drippings and dry rub. Ever heard of it?
ryan you know what would be nice too..maybe if your ready.....alternate.....your video then a video your dad did...then your video;];];];] like a family channel;];];];] i only caught his videos for a few months then nothing,,,, i didnt find out til the following yr after he died when i was reading comments on his very last video..i couldnt understand why he didnt have a new video up...just an idea.. either way your doing awesome ;];];];];] simplisity is the best;];];];] great job;];];]
I have spent some time looking for "lost videos" that he may have done, but he uploaded most of what he filmed. I will definitely be looking for a way to add some of his stuff into future videos!
