My dad is 91 yrs old this year.. He won on Bowling For Dollars too, but we can't find the episode. His name is Jose Cuevas. I would give anything for him to get to see it before he passes away. He never got to see his self on TV
@@TheMichaelchichi I’m so jealous! I wish I could see the episode of you guys! When I was 9yrs old, my mom my auntie and me went on the Gong Show singing a’ cappella. Of course, we didn’t win,but it was a blast! The person who won was this drugged out street person who had a GIANT rubber sandal. Not a pair. Just one. She went on stage in shorts and a bathing suit top with her one giant sandal and said a bunch of weird stuff and ended up winning. Lol! The 70’s were so strange
Here in New England, there was a variation of this show on channel 7 from Boston, called "Candlepins for Cash". To win the jackpot, you only needed to bowl one strike. Bob Gamere was the host.
Bravo! Nice one ! Only thing me and my dad ever did together was enter and win a "father/son" bowling tournament my dad was old as most kids grampas and looked it ,he bowled in his socks ,he had a vicious hook style and was hot ,i was good too but he pulled us into 1st place out of 40 father/son combos .unreal i was 12 that rocked like yr dad here !
That's great--I used to watch this with my grandmother. My uncle was with the 45 at that time. Grandpa was NYPD mounted, and both their fathers were with the NYPD going back to the 1890s.
No Walmart no seatbelts, cheap gas, teachers who actually teach school, 20sec TV commercials, honest news, no feminist telling us every move we can make, . 25 hamburgers, fun pop music, walk the streets safely.
in the version shown in my neck of the woods in Canada, it was five-pin bowling, and three strikes were needed to win the jackpot. Often many weeks went by without a jackpot winner.
I was in the audience for a taping of this show in October/November 1976. My first grade teacher's husband worked on the show and I was such a big fan of the show she got us all tickets for a taping. Me + my brother had photos taken on the set and with Larry Kenney before the taping. I'd love to see that episode on RU-vid some day. Still have the photos from that day.
my father sent in many postcards to try and win money, watched everynight was on at dinner time one night when we were out and didnt watch they called his name all he won was a $100 and a playing card shoe that didnt really work .was before this with different host gene something or other
I don't recall when watching the Los Angeles version as a kid on KTLA Channel 5, hearing bowling in the background. I think they had a couple bowling lanes installed in a TV studio. No need to set-up the show in a bowling alley.
roachtoasties In the KTLA Los Angeles version of “Bowling For Dollars”, hosted by Chick Hearn (July 4, 1972-September 3, 1976); Jim Lange (September 6, 1976-March 4, 1977).
Larry Kenny was also a morning New York disc Jockey on W H N a country music station ,and also provided one of the voices for the 80s cartoon series Thunder cats.
0:55 so that’s you in the middle of your two sisters! You and your pin pal won $710 split! Are you still bowling as of currently? I never watched bowling for dollars in my life! How old are you now, Michael?
