Harrenhall is like one of those castles that you can technically buy for 1 dollar but they expect you to restore and maintain it so you end up millions in debt
@@LoudaroundLincolnThe Lord of Harrenhal is the guy who killed the past and potential Lords of Harrenhal and is now setting a wikifeet gallery on Kings' Landing
@thebonfireofgains if the cripple wants his castle, all he has to do is raise an army and go and take it back. Where I'm from you only call something yours so long as you can keep it.
**Daemon captured Harrenhal without conflict by landing Caraxes on top of Kingspyre Tower** Historians: What an amazing show of force, they literally gave up Harrenhal without a fight because of Daemon and Caraxes. Truly the might of the dragons were outmatched. Simon Strong: Nah, fam, we couldn't even afford a nice dinner, we poor.
Kinda makes me wonder. How did Aegon treat with these kings, really. Obviously some he melted but others have stories where he just "walked up". How many of those are real. Or is Daemon's style just an example of how unfit he is for politics. He's running around like Jason Bourne while the threat of a thousand deaths flies overhead. He should just be able to say hello, like in some of the Aegon stories. Or maybe thats naivety.
the foreboding score, the moody mise-en-scène, the POV shot of Daemon flying on top of Harrenhal and Caraxes' menacing shrieks - best scene of HOTD so far for me.
@michaelyohanes2782 because, like Harrenhal, most of Elden's structures are abandoned ruins, and that's literally what Harrenhal is, not to mention the dark atmosphere that the place gives, with a lone knight in beautiful armor and a sword held in two hands, and it's worth mentioning both works were created in the story part by GRRM, and in Elden there are references to Game Of Thrones so... why not the other way around?
@@timliebhauser Bruh ... it's not "infiltration" in any sense, technical or not. Also you infiltrate something to (maybe) conquer it, not the other way round lol. Once you've conquered it, question of infiltration doesn't arise. It's an oxymoron. How can you "infiltrate" something you've already conquered?
@@tiffles3890 That’s what I was trying to say mainly, sorry. That he was infiltrating it by force and then being prepared to fight and attempt to conquer it successfully, one bringing on the other.
Harrenhall was outrageously large and outrageously damaged after Aegon destroyed it. It was far too expensive and required too many men to defend it let alone repair it
Through its history many have set out intending to repair it. Then repair becomes maintain, then abandoning some sections of the castle, then abandoning most of the castle, then as your entire line dies out around you, each house realises that the tales that the place is cursed are true.
Strong is a wealthy house but they do not have the means to refurbish Harrenhal, very few if any houses do since it's one of the largest holdings in Westeros. When Tywin takes it over in GOT it's in a similar state of disrepair
@GrandeTheftDesperado Greens should've laid a trap for him, Dragon wouldn't have meant nothing daemon was getting ganked in the lower ruins by 20 men plus Aemond.
People don't understand that Daemon was one of the best assets to have on either side and one could argue he was one of the most important and vital people to have on either side because he was one of the most experienced leaders and the best fighter on either side.
Showing Harrenhal in its prime would *DEVOUR* the entire budjet of whatever would-be show about that! 💀 Just kidding. But yeah, seeing Harrenhal in its former glory would've been a treat.
The showrunners wanted to imitate the success of GoT as much as possible so they chose a story with a female lead as queen. Judging how most fans side with the blacks, they were onto something.
@@schoolofgrowthhacking They actually chose a different G.O.T. prequel starring Naomi Watts, but it didn't work out. It was GRRM who wanted them to do a story about The Dance Of Dragons.
this was like two weeks after viserys died, westeros was still living in peace. war hasn’t started yet and also killing a child isn’t enough action for you?
It has been tormenting me who this actor is and I finally just figured out this is the same guy who plays Lavrentiy Beria in "The Death of Stalin". He was magnificent in that.
