Daemon TESTS King Viserys! It DID NOT Go Well! 

When I first heard that, my jaw dropped so hard I almost dislocated it. I was like "Daemon, are you trying to get yourself killed?".

Daemon is an ambitious man, being the hand of the king was never his goal but all he wanted was atleast his brother asked him if he wanted to be Viserys hand of king. He just wanted to be acknowledged by his brother

He didn't want Daemon in court because if Daemon got too much power, he'd destabilize Otto's long-term plans

@@BenMedia7 imo their both power hungry and cruel as they would rather kill ppl who refused to bend the knee for example Otto stole rhaenyra's birthright and he manupilated his daughter which would force to her install her firstborn son Aegon on the iron throne and when Otto called all the lords of westeros to swear fealty and declare Aegon as the rightful heir he killed those who refused to bend the knee. In the last episode of hotd you see daemon threaten the kingsguard who were on dragonstone and lets say Daemon was Otto and rhaneyra was the usurper ( Aegon) and Aegon himself was renounced as the rightful heir by his father viserys before passing we all know Daemon would've killed all the lords who refused to bend the knee just like Otto. Only thing i can say abt Daemon yes he cares abt his family but other than that his no different than Otto and also dont forget they even compared him to Maegor the Cruel.

Not necessarily true. The Roman emperors tended to send subordinates and especially intended heirs off on quests, missions, expeditions. It was considered beneath the imperial dignity for the emperor to go resolve every squabble in person.

@@jt7638 Well, the fact Daemon was dissappointed to see Otto kinda shows that they do things a little different in this story.

@@NtoTheM he wanted Viserys to go there. What makes it interesting is to consider why? For attention? Or to kill him? However unlikely, Otto was wise to consider it to be #2, but he was gambling with his life thinking he could bully Daemon into compliance alone.

@@jt7638 Nah, you're giving Otto too much credit. Everything the guy does is to better his own position/make his own image bigger. He can't rule his house so he gotta leech up to the royal household. He went because he wanted to keep the brothers apart, cause that leaves him to manipulate Viserys to his own ends.
