He probably wouldn't have came if it wasn't for Torey. And Torey was cool enough to be quiet for us fans. Can't stand when a podcast finally pulls a legend but there's someone else there kinda fucking everything up trying to talk over them.
I swore he had one because everything he said in this episode I have heard before. I kept thinking "why is Chris asking him all the same stories?". But then I remembered it was all from the transworld documentary on him. Which makes sense, when someone is telling their life story they only have one life story.

I met Daewon in Brea CA at a skate shop called Liberty Boardshop. It was so cool. He was such a nice person to my brother and I. I was about 7 my brother was 10 in the early 2000’s. We used to just watch him skate the parking lot with the older guys. We would always be at that skate shop and anytime he showed up he would always go out of his way to say hello to us. Yeah it's relatable how scary change can seem and how the potential for positive change can be super exciting and motivating. Also cool to hear having ppl's back is a huge krux to their success

I’m 27 and getting back into skating and this show has inspired me so much, I suck right now, and seeing my homies do everything makes really stoked to learn at first I felt late to the game cause I just wish I had taken it more seriously when I young but I’m just happy to be here and having fun, any advise for a old beginner so to speak 🤣 love everyone here

I met Daewon at a World demo in 1995 or 6 in Milwaukee and he started talking to me and we chatted for a while. Not only one of the nicest pros but also a nice person. Legend.
Daewon was the first pro that I noticed in real life. From videos and mags to an actual pro who was around. RIP Pyro skate at puente hills mall. He skates it in his 411vm day in the life.
Because of this show I supported a local skate shop. Not my local but someone’s. I am stoked for the Dub 9” classic/modern Hawk shape Hybrid. I know its singed but I bought it to skate. When I get it I will make the final decision but I do have one coming. It is a mash up of so many things Thank you, nine club, Song, Puds, Dubs, its an amazing collaboration and without the show I would never have known it was even out.
I watched Savannah Slamma in person. Glad to hear Daewon loved the video! Growing up as a skateboarder in Savannah, we were basically only seeing the magazines or Powell videos. The surfshop had Santa Cruz Wheels of Fire /Streets of Fire/Hocus Pocus but when Love Child came out, THAT VIDEO CHANGED MY ENTIRE LIFE. Snarf snarf.
That was so damn good. Daewon and Torey were both in my top 5 favorites when i was younger, which is funny because Torey is my age, but the way he did kickflip crooks and backtails, the pop, the long front crooks and nollie flipping in to shit.. I was so inspired.. and to me daewon just did so much crazy shit I didn't think it was possible so I didn't even try to learn. I really WISH you guys played more clips of the guests skating.. the deca 2nd to none part, almost round 3, skate more.. toreys big bang and all his parts and insanely difficult tricks. Definitely need to watch more clips with the guests like these 😎😎😎
Ewwwwww!!!! I been waiting on this one!!! By far my favorite skateboarder of ALL TIMES!!! And he’s such a humble dude, like if I hadn’t already lost a nut, I’d cut one off to meet this man and say “Thank you for all you’ve done in skateboarding.”
It's not just that Daewon is an incredible human. It's HOW Human he is despite some of the otherworldly skating he has done for 30 years. I would love to see him interviewed by someone from the non skating world where we could get to hear him speak his mind on his journey beyond skateboarding because he is an incredibly special and insightful human being. Just imagine being a fly on the wall listening to him and rodney talking late into the night! We love and appreciate you Daewon. And I'm not just saying that you are truly appreciated. Thank you. I met jeron Wilson while working in Disney in florida he was on vacation w his wife . Daewon is so chill.. seems really personably n down to Earth.. I loved Orion trucks.. only had 1 set before.., in blue, but i liked them alot.. i only remember him on Tensor when i was younger
growing up locally, daewon was always the coolest down to earth dude. we’d see him skating around town, at wilson skatepark, transitions, etc. the man never turned down an autograph and always had stacks of stickers to give out. much respect, daewon. 💯
