we will not quibble, I know how to make the difference, the term is almost the same, just that one is not official, the other if. Mashup = when the mix / remix is not output Bootleg = when it is released and copyrighted by an artist I see you have that to do ... rather applaud the work.

No a mashup is about taking the best out of two tracks and make it sound like one. A Bootleg is essentially a remix of which the artist who made the bootleg can't take money for it, although the artist can release it for free. A bootleg is a remix of a track where the artist who made the original track did not say 'yes' to the other artist to make a remix of it. That's why you can make a remix of a track and release it for free as a bootleg, if you didn't get permission to make a remix of the track to begin with.
