8th Gear on these zf transmissions is not meant for anything other than Highway cruising and helping to lower emissions. If you put your gearbox into any of its sport modes, it won’t even go into 8th by itself unless if you use your pedals to make it go into 8th. 6:43

What are your thoughts on the fuel economy? Has it become a hurdle filling up frequently, and getting roughly 9 km/L?

yeah the torque (or lack of) low down is not good on this. 2,900 I think is the optimum whereas the RS4 is a lot lower due to being a V6

Am I crazy for expecting better mpg on a modern 6Cyl? I know the engine is incredible is most ways but… idk expected a bit better

I mean this is a highly tuned car from the factory, it makes more than 500hp (it's BMW numbers too, so it probably makes it closer to 550hp than 500hp). Expecting better gas mileage is pretty unreasonable lol. It almost certainly gets better mileage than something like say a Mk4 supra with 500+hp.
