Its great to see airbag vests becoming more popular. i was torn between this and the Furygan vests. This Furygan Evolution has level 2 back protector as back up, covers the neck better and can be used on the outside of a jacket or under in the same way. Only downside to some would be its subscription based. Things can only get better with these safety items in years to come. Thanks for the review.
A good thorough review, it'll be interesting to see how you get on with it on longer rides I hope you never get into a situation where it has to deploy.
Thankyou glad you liked it, I hope I never know what it’s like either but it’s a bit of tech that isn’t often discussed especially in this detail I couldn’t find enough research
Thank you sir couldn't find anywhere in the manual that when you're charging it the snap has to be connected then starts blinking red and just wait it out until it turns green. Thanks again
Thanks for this helpful video. Is it easy to remove and reinstall the airbag? I want to be sew patches on the jacket and the airbag would need to be removed.
Just bought this vest in the USA. In the instructions it says to connect the wires ending in small pull loops leading to the vest's computer. Is this not required in the UK/ Anyone else that had to go through this? About to tackle this in the daylight, since it took a few hours to charge up.
sorry for the slow reply, no that wasn't required for me it was all pre-done and I didn't have to do anything except charge it up, hope you managed to sort it?
I just had to do this in Germany. Except it didn't tell me this anywhere. I kept Googling until I found a website with these instructions. It's charging for me now so I still haven't registered it. My Laptop can't detect it so I'm hoping after a full charge it works. Very poor impression so far.
A wise purchase, I think. Dainese have been fitting air bags into race leathers for many years now and the technology is well proven. I hope you never have to find out if I’m right! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Me neither, never want to know what its like but I felt peace of mind knowing that they've already had years and years of race track experience. Thanks for watching see you soon, I get back from Scotland then have a great series to share
Cool. As you know I'm not very techie. Were you recording audio off those white earphones, or from a separate mic or just off the camera? I'm always learning something from you :-)
just opened the jacket, I have a new Mac book air. no way to connect to my camputer ??? new Macs don't have USB ports, your review was very good btw...... thanks Ron
Thanks Ron glad you liked it. I have the new MacBook Pro & I had to buy a USB C to USB A adapter. Or if you take the cable out of your charger it should be USB C on both ends which should work Hope that helps
That’s a good honest first review, I love air bag products and more should definitely add them to there Personal protection kit , never been sure about the under jacket vests , never knew if you had to up size your outer jacket , I’ve been a helite man since 2016 . Which is a outer vest but like I say I think all air bag products for motorcyclists are amazing 😎☝️🇬🇧🏍 keep up the good work
Funny enough I just finished watching your Helite video! I loved the protection it offers and the simplify of the pull-cable triggering system but I like having mine hidden under the jacket for style purposes. As long as we're wearing the best protection I think it all helps as part of the package. ride safe buddy, my bike waiting on new tyres + levers + chain + 10,000 mile service so hope to be back out in a few weeks
Very welcome, ask if there is anything else you want to know. I now can't feel this jacket at all even without a jumper, in terms of comfort just takes some getting used too
@@malcellison8831 I wear mine under my Frank Thomas Waxed jacket & occasionally my Goldtop Brown Bobber jacket although that is noticeably tighter. 5cm is the ideal gap but a tighter jacket will just mean you get squeezed tighter if the jacket goes off. but the D-air itself just feels like a thick jumper
Why did you pick the Dainese instead of the Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 ??? I have the Tech-Air cause it provides Shoulder protection, a CE2 back protector, and the hard brain box in the Dainese is in a very dangerous spot, right by your lower back.
Admittedly looking back I should have gone with the tech air 5 instead, the hard box has really put me off wearing it. I put it over the jacket but really I wish i'd done more research as I now have this sort of £480 burden which is not as great as I thought. I'll wear it for commuting but really this was meant to be part of my daily ride stuff, I am a bit annoyed about it all too. I have put a slip of cardboard in the lining which really takes most of the hard box feeling away but still not ideal
Ah ok I’ve never heard of it. Probably does it’s just a one off to register the product & then any updates but they come sort of once a year. You should try out Windows or MacOS they are very popular for a reason 😎
It has to be done at a dainese approved dealer I think it costs about £250 a go......admittedly they don't make this very clear when you are first looking at it
@@killervampir I did know but it was only by chance, personally im really struggling with feeling the battery in my lower back so im not wearing it atm....there are other options
@@AnotherHipster yeah I was also looking at helite e turtle but I want it to be under the jacket not over it. Is feeling the battery that bad that u won’t wear a 700$ item? I have tried one on yet
Yeah it is really uncomfy it’s so distracting but not a lot of people have that issue so maybe I just have a really skinny back or something 😂 tempted to sell mine soon
