Where can I find the registration site or decoding page to get the date of my Daisy RR?

Hello sir, can a tasco rimfire 4x15mm fit on a daisy buck 105?
@gotnitro4329
@gotnitro4329 Год назад
If the 105 buck shoots 350fps stock what would it shoot with high performance spring from cobalt?
@RestOModDaisy
@RestOModDaisy Год назад
If you find a current production Buck that can hit 350 FPS out of the box, please let me know. I've converted quite a few of those guns and normally find they run 250-260-ish FPS. Subbing in a Cobalt mainspring and a 7/64" overbore airtube will add 50-60 FPS. Due to the integrated shot tube assembly, you can not add a Model 25 shot tube to these guns without major mods.
@gotnitro4329

@@RestOModDaisy thanks for helping me understand. I thought I could trust daisy’s word on saying 350fps now that I know they are 250fps how much of a difference is adding upgraded spring is it noticeable power? And why hasn’t anyone try to sue daisy for false advertisement? I just bought a buck 105. I remember finding a old lever action daisy in my uncles garage it was loads of fun. Don’t know much about these that’s why I assumed they did 350 like the package says
@RestOModDaisy
@RestOModDaisy Год назад
@@gotnitro4329 I think the 350 FPS myth is a remnant of Daisy's advertising dating back to the 1940's-50's. The original #111 Model 40 Red Ryder's were certainly more powerful than the guns made today as a result of much stiffer mainsprings. I've worked on several that could hit 315-325 FPS that had thier original leather seals and unsacked mainsprings. Remarkable for an 80+ year old BB gun. I do believe that Daisy started dropping the power output on these toy guns around 1978 when they redesigned the Red Ryder and other products to incorporate a trigger mounted safety as a result of losing a law suit on the issue. Product liability issues drive corporate decisions. However, the current production guns are still fun to shoot and do fill a need in that they can introduce new shooters to the art of marksmanship.

Very cool Red Ryder. I just got a new 105 and I am going to take the stock off and cut it down to a pistol grip. I am going to sand and paint it too. I ordered a large lever loop from Cobalt to put on it. Later I mat get the spring and overshot tube to hot rod it up.

@@RestOModDaisy I would love to cut the barrel down some but I am not too comfortable cutting the tube and all. Plus I would lose the loading port.
@RestOModDaisy
@RestOModDaisy 3 года назад
@@henrycems Things to consider. When I cut one I use a plumbers tool made for cutting copper tubing and it works pretty well for the barrel shroud, then I drive the barrel and abutment assembly out of the gun after marking the barrel so it's about 1/4" longer than the cut I made on the shroud. The tricky part is getting a square cut on the barrel itself and then crowning it so the gun will shoot straight. I then reinstall the assembly and use the plastic front sight/muzzle as a loading port because you will be able to dismount it easily as it will not fit flush anymore but will not fall off either. Things to consider.

@@RestOModDaisy I do have a pipe cutter I have used on copper pipe. Have you done a video of this process? I have a 105 buck and the front sight fell off one day in the field so I ordered one and supper glued that thing in. That is the reason I did not want to lose the BB loading port but if you have a way to fit it so it will not fall off but still be able to take it off to load BBs then I might be looking into doing this.

On the No. 1938 Red Ryder carbines, use the first number as the last digit of the year in the '70s the gun was stamped. K5xxxxx = 1975, L2 = 1972, etc. Oddly, they only used a couple of different letter prefixes, so I don't know if they were all stamped in one or two months per year or what. But "K" was used most often followed by "L". Again, oddly, L was mostly used in 1972 while K was used throughout the rest of the years of production . They were made from 1972 to 1979.

How much are people paying to have a 20-40 dollar bb gun modified or even fixed? I didn't even know there was a repair market for this.
@RestOModDaisy
@RestOModDaisy 2 года назад
There is. Lots of folks do their own maintenance on their legacy Daisy's and there's quite a few that prefer to send their guns out. I like working on them and I really like upgrading old rust buckets whose next stop would have been the dump. They are not in the same league as golf or powder burners or street racers but none of those hobbies can be pursued with a modest handful of tools and won't be suitable for back yard use and casual plinking. Think about it, what other toy from the turn of the century in 1900 is still around today and still works as designed? Did you get a set of golf clubs for christmas in 1957 or did you get a Daisy?

@RestOModDaisy

Cowboy, Most likely an oversize BB is trapped in the barrel shroud. Open the loading port and shake the beejeezus out of it to see if anything falls out. If nothing does then whatever debris you've got in there might be in the receiver section.

I don't get that. Gamo owns Daisy as far as I know and Gamo is a big Euro corporation with a huge line of pneumatics and PCP style airguns. I'm surprised at the numbers of inquiries I've gotten from England and the EU for parts, stocks and complete guns that I won't commit to fill until I figure out how to get them shipped and through customs without costing 2 or 3 times the purchase price of the product. It's crazy!

I just built an SBR today. I used a new Buck and I borrowed the furniture from a Red Ryder. I didn't bother with screwing it to the shroud... I just tapped the forearm band down tight with a wooden mallet. It didn't budge all day and I must've shot it 500 times. No rear sight. I reused the Red Ryder spring anchor. It's ridiculously accurate even without the oversized rear sight, though it did take about 15 shots to get used to it. It's great for reflexive shooting or aerials. I was popping cans out of the air earlier. Thanks, Shane. You're a hard act to follow, but I don't mind trying.
