Bhagat tarachand!!! My father used to eat here regularly when he first came to mumbai 30 years back. I recall how we used to look forward to eat here when we used to visit mumbadevi. Also 30 years later it is still one of the few restaurants my father trusts to provide quality food. Thanks for covering this kunal. Cheers!!

Kunal - you just visited my favourite veg restaurant and had all my favourite dishes. What can I say. It’s fabulous to see you enjoy the Dal Fry, Aloo Methi, Bhindi fry and Paneer Bhurji. Followed by sweets and Lassi. This place used to be my Saturday night special as when I used to fast during day and have only tea coffee or juices till evening. Later after work, I used to go and have this sumptuous thali with all their specials on it. Have a bottle of chaas and end the meal with a gulab jamun. Also, they serve the best chapatis or phulkas any veg restaurant serves in Mumbai. One of these is called ‘Pusak’. The hot roti cooked on tawa is put on flame where it baloons into a hot ball filled with smoke. Immediately it is dipped in a vessel filled with pure ghee and then smashed with two hands. It is still hot and crisp plus now had a ghee bath. This with Daal is my nirvana after a divine temple visit on Saturdays. Also they used to hide a pistachio in each gulab jamun. Once I was on a special fast in day and was advised not to have any wheat. I asked them gulab jamun was made or only khoya or mawa and told them the purpose. They were honest to tell me it had some wheat which is necessary as a binder of gulab jamun. Such is their honesty and it shine through in the purity of ingredients such as curds for lassi and chaas, pure desi ghee, Amul butter, the quality of wheat for chapatis and the sumptuous Daal. Kunal, once again your trademark style Lovellyyy and mein ek aur roti khaoon kya etc shows how much you live to eat and love to eat. This was a fab episode. Thanks and much love and health to the entire Khane mein Kya hai team. Love M
@@KhaaneMeinKyaHai yes. The waiters too treat you as if you are a guest having food at a wedding ‘pangat’. The owners are always courteous. Often saw them having their meals there. The chaas is always fresh. Never got a tart taste. I had a few fixed waiters on the ground floor as I couldn’t wait for seats in the AC section above, when ending my fast on Saturdays. These waiters were always glad to see me and would recommend something that would be different or best combo in a thali. At times I would only have Daal fry, ghee rotis or Missi Roti and papad Churi followed by chaas, latter an absolute must for Kutchis like me. Perhaps the softest Gulaab Jamun I ate, I sometimes paired it with the Rabri, when in company of friends. Both together is a Herculean task after eating a few rotis and large portions of daal or subzi. I noticed the Gulab jamuns were always served hot and the Rabri had a unique sweet taste, which I later learned was made from Khadi Shakkar - natural unprocessed sugar. The conflict was always what to have last, the sweets or chaas as both have a very unique lingering taste. After food, I would go and eat two Pans in the same lane, opposite the Cotton Bazar, before the Hanuman Mandir. This one too is a legend. He made his own chutney and used to add spiced cardamom and spiced Supari which was soaked in a special spiced solution. I think of all the other namesake restaurants in that lane, B Bhagat Tarachand is the finest. It never disappointed me.
Ise kehte hai presentation... Amezing..kaash aap jaise ye sarre flavours se rubaru ho paata , kash in tastes k saath jhum pata ... Thank you Sir for introducing us all the different flavours and tastes... ✌🏻😌☮️♥️
