Seeing Linda Grey and Larry Hagman appear at Texas Theater with maybe a 100 or less of us visitors on a Sunday afternoon to promote the New Dallas Series was surreal. Thanks to my wife and her eagle eye in reading the Dallas Guide to get us there.

Linda Gray's, Sue Ellen was my favorite character on Dallas watching in real time during the 70s and 80s, very good in the 'cliffhangers'.

I'm watching it now, Larry Hagman is amazing, He played it so well, You could always see right through him, Until you couldn't, He played the liar in a way that defied logic, It took me a while to understand just how well he did it, Untouchable performances.

Linda Gray is definitely a great lady. She's never exasperated to talk about Dallas and Sue Ellen, she's a respectful person for the fans as in general. I loved the couple Pam and Bobby but without Sue Ellen and JR, Dallas never would be this Dallas we knew.

Wonderful interview. I believe it was a good selection of genuine, honest, decent, intelligent, real, people that had respect for each other and it came through on the show. They were professionals at their art. It also had beautiful music and the contrast of scenes from ranch scenes to city of Dallas. Ranch to oil business is what kept it interesting. I loved the realistic ranch scenes. Love the beauty Linda Gray!

She really is just the best. What a special person, so lovely and down to earth. Absolutely beautiful too! She has always been my favorite and her dynamic with Larry Hagman is magical. So refreshing to hear her and such a positive experience away from the negativity of constantly hearing that the show was nothing without that insipid Pam! We have a lot to thank Linda Larry and Patrick for - at least they have kept Dallas alive! Superb interview thank you Roy!

I remember my mom watching this when I was a kid and lately tv has gotten to the point of there not being anything worth watching I searched for 80’s television and this one popped up on Freevee. I have been watching a show every night or two now for about 6 weeks and really enjoy it and just started season 3. I am really enjoying it and can see why so many tuned in as I look forward to it and I don’t have to plan to watch it but can see how back before the technology I would have made sure I got to watch this every week.

Always such a gracious and warm Lady. I believe, as she does, that the women should get paid the same as the men if they are the ones pulling the show but I disagree with the women being the bookends to The men in Dallas. I always found the women to be the most interesting and enjoyable to watch. They had the most depth to me because they were so unlike the men. I think this is one of the factors that made the original such a phenomenon. I don’t think the women need to be in the boardroom with the men. This is not to say I think they should barefoot and pregnant. I think when they were women, not consumed with power or a job or whatever, they were the most fascinating. Maybe this is because I find business and career so boring but when SE walked in to find JR with Holly Harwood and just the pain in her eyes, with no music, no words was so powerful. When Pam was on the verge of a breakdown after Bobby dies and she falls into Mark Grayson’s arms was when she was the most Interesting. And the emotion that poured out of her in regards to the division between her family and the Ewing’s was one of the most interesting factors to the show. I think of Miss Ellie’s mastectomy as well when I say this. I find the women to be utterly fascinating when they ARE reactionary to the men. It was the main reason I tuned in every week. I just never found any Interest in Pamela Jr on the sequel and SE, in the boardroom with Bobby and John Ross and Christopher. I missed the Great drama that women gave in the original

I'm disappointed TNT cancelled the new Dallas program. They left it with a cliffhanger ending like that. In my book, Dallas ended with the last Dallas movie from the 90s when J.R. took control of West Star Oil and Bobby had control of Ewing Oil and South Fork Ranch. The Ewings had won and the game was over.

The reboot was always dead as soon as Larry Hagman died that’s the reality of the situation. That’s why they’re recruiting all the strange story lines in the last season and I agree with Linda grades it was just pretty much done at that point without the whole family thing

definitive, the Drug story-line was a bit to much in the "reboot" Dallas, even it was interesting. I also wish TNT wouldnt have cancled it...there would have been much more stories to tell: like the returning of J.R.'s first born son James Beaumont (son of Vanessa Beaumount) or that kid JR had with Cally. Even as Ewing-Heritage the child of Donna/Ray could have been showed up (with Donna?).

I wonder if the show/executive producers/directors/writers-or whatever the appropriate term might be-ever conducted a focus group in order to seek feedback from “heyday” viewers. Seems to me the greatest seasons/episodes ended with ominous music and a freeze frame, if that’s the correct word-especially of J.R.-with the words, “Philip Capice, Executive Producer.” My sense is-despite expressions of their love for Larry Hagman-fellow actors were envious, ultimately. Too bad. Cutting off the nose to spite the face.
@stclairstclair

Being that the entire world was tuning in for longer then a decade probably made them confident enough to proceed without a focus group
