Glad Linda and Patrick were with him in the end. Amazing they were all good friends for so long. Seems everyone on the show respected each other. It shows. Thank you Larry & cast for giving us Dallas! Glad you had your wish of playing J.R. once again! RIP Larry!
One thing I have always admired about Dallas and the cast is not one actress or actor badmouthed another actress or actor from that show. Nor were there any accusations leveled against one another
Larry was the one who gave Linda the way to become producer in one of dallas episode. The studio initially refused Linda's proposal to direct/produce one of the episode. Larry stood behind her back and helped her by lobbying the studio. They were true friends. Helped each other and reliable in any time.
larry, way to go for WOMEN'S RIGHTS MOVEMENT in linda's directing some episodes! the way the 2 acted on dallas; you would NOT know they were best friends!!! they were both so CONVINCABLE! betty gordon, ames, iowa lifelong fan
Loved Dallas growing up with our Parents when they was living. Every Friday could it wait to see Dallas. I'm so glad I can get it on my tablet I just started looking at it about a month ago. Everyone was a good actor especially J. R.
Im happy i met larry 12 yrs ago when he came to the uk to sign his book i spent a whole two hours with him an he chatted to me throughout, he was amazing to speak with
this was a 1 on 1 conversation or he was talking to a group of folks? lucky you!!!! how precious to have had this time with him with him NOT in character, jr ewing. betty gordon, ames, iowa, usa ... fan
Snidley Whiplash he was ....capable of tying the heroine to the railroad track and grinning about it. All he needed was a handlebar mustache to curl with his fingers.
This is so beautiful. Linda and Patrick adored Larry and he adored them right back. Linda was there with Larry when he died. The only reason his real-life wife wasn't there was because she was deep into Alzheimer's disease. RIP, Larry. You were awesome.
i had not heard that larry's real wife had alzheimer's, AD, and wasn't there. my heartfelt sympathies to larry's fami ly on the loss of their dad and that AD has taken their mom's mind also. my youngest brother's wife, cheryl, died at age 40, yes 40, of EARLY onset AD!! their only son, jerad, also died at age 40 from his traumatic brain injury of 6 yrs. in the same nursing home as his mom. thank you for showing the brief clips above from linda, patrick, and larry's LOOK ALIKE SON! very heartfelt words from each of them. RIP, return if possible, is another version of rip i learned earlier this year. god bless you larry hagman for your 60 yrs. or workmanship as an actor in I DREAM OF JEANNIE & DALLAS 1& 2. betty gordon, ames, iowa...lifelong fan!
Yeah I hear that she was with him when he passed away. Linda is a wonderful woman and Larry a great actor. You know Dallas was Dallas because of Larrry
What a great actor he was, My mother still loves watching him in I dream of Jennie. She said she loved him more in comedy but what was so great about him is that he could do both. Major Nelson or JR Ewing you were great in both Larry.
I saw Larry Hagman as a actor in both films, in 1967, in, we called in Germany, "Bezaubernde Jeanny" and in Dallas. He was so a good actor! 😀 👍 I will never forget him!!!! I met Larry in Dallas in '12 and he was so friendly and nice. I told him i was a big fan but didn't want to interrupt but he didn't care and signed autograph anyway.
This eulogy of Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy and Larry Hagman's son, Preston Hagman truely did touch me a lot. For me to know that he is upstairs looking down at his own co stars and fans is something special. Please Rest In Peace, Larry Hagman. We will miss you dearly. Please post only positive comments over here. Thank you. Please stay indoors during the quarentine as much as possible. June 7, 2020 @ 7:55 am
Thanks to Patrick Duffy, & out of homage to Larry Hagman, I've started telling people in the morning when they ask, that I'M WONDERFUL! FANTASTIC! I miss LH. I loved his autobiography!
People forget Larry was an excellent actor outside of DALLAS. He gave Oscar worthy performances in three very different movies - FAIL SAFE, HARRY AND TONTO and PRIMARY COLORS.
As a young boy I can remember my parents and grandmother watching Dallas every friday night. Of course they watched the Dukes of Hazzard with me, then Dallas came on at 9PM. Sometimes I'd watch, sometimes I would go in the other room and play with my Hot Wheels. I knew the names J.R. and Bobby back in those days. As a college boy I started watching the reruns on TNN. I was hooked on the show. I'd watch the 2 reunion movies and I was psyched when I heard it was coming back. Goodbye JR.
David Gaines me too. I was in the band in high school and loved it when football season was over so i could watch Dukes of Hazzard, Dallas, and Falcon Crest on Friday nights!
Considering for an Irishman, Patrick Duffy always displayed a great deal of softeness, with a loving warm hearted tenderness in his tone of voice and has always been a real gentleman in life, just like on the set. Such a cool and sensative actor. No wonder everybody just loves him so much. Linda Gray looks so stunning and dazzling too! I was really moved by her speech...! Johnny from Montreal, Canada.
I wasn't born when Dallas came out, but I had a grandmother who watched it religiously...and thus got me hooked. It was part of the Friday night tradition when I was a child. Though I wasn't born, at age 3 I knew who shot JR. I was thrilled to find reruns on TV when I was grown up. I still have those vivid childhood memories. Meeting Larry was icing on the cake in 2008. He is truly a legend and will be missed by generations of fans...from senior citizens to children. RIP SLICK.
"rip slick"! lol, i can't stop laughing at that; never heard him called that before but he was in his CHARACTER JR EWING! lucky you to meet him. he/his staff sent me an autographed photo with his $1 million bill with HIS photo on it!! i still have it in prominent display in my hutch ;) betty gordon, ames, iowa lifelong fan
Fantastic farewell. I feel very lucky to have only known Larry through his characters. To hear these people closest to him makes me envious. I'll always remember his contributions to the entertainment business. R.I.P.
Thank you very much, Mr Hagman, for playing the role of JR Ewing in the original and the reboot version of DALLAS. I always enjoyed watching every single episode of DALLAS. Every single time I watch this eulogy of Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy and Preston Hagman I know that we have lost a fine and dear actor like you, Mr Larry Hagman. Thank you, Mr. Hagman, for always giving to us a smile on I dream of Jeannie, with Barbara Eden, or on DALLAS with your funny looking grins like when you fooled the boys of the Cartel to go into the Asian deal with them. Yes, when you leave the podium because you are too choked up, speaks volumes about true love and friendship. Most of us should be so lucky. God bless you Linda, and you look fantastic!!! The legs in the poster for The Graduate!
I love both shows and am so grateful got to meet all the actors at the meet and great at southfork on the ranch in 2008. Nothing was better then breaking bread at the ranch with my favorite tv actors of all time. Now I that was a true bucket list, checked off. We love you Larry and will miss you.
Long before I started clubbing on Friday nights it was The Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas, Larry Hagman portrayed probably the best villain in either daytime or prime time ever, if you weren't fortunate to be around during the Dallas hey day it was phenomenal and we will probably never see the likes of it ever again on TV, RIP Mr.Hagman and thanks for some great TV..also liked him as Major Tony Nelson on I Dream of Jeannie, he was magic with Barbara Eden...
Those were my Friday nights as well. For a while it was: The Incredible Hulk, Dukes of Hazzard, Dallas. Then later on it was Dukes of Hazzard, Dallas, Falcon Crest.
That villain character JR Ewing in Dallas, was the most kind, warmhearted and friendly person in his private life. I had the honor to meet him once when he was visiting Sweden. He was full of energy and enthusiasm and his positivity was touching many people, including myself.
He is still and will always be missed.....I don't remember a lot from my younger years now, but I remember the show Dallas and always will, because of Larry.
I just started watching "Dallas" when the newer version came out, I wasnt born for the older series. And The first time I saw "JR" Larry Hagman, I fell in love with him. He was my favorite character, besides "John Ross" Josh Henderson. Larry is what made Dallas.. Dallas! And him the last episode he was in, was the saddest for me. As soon as the writers "killed" Larry/JR I literally busted into tears. Im going to miss Larry Hagman so so much. But Im very greatful what he left here. #rememberingJR
I realized that a big part of my "tv" youth was Larry Hagman; as a kid watching him on the hilarious "I Dream of Jeannie", to watching him as a teenager on "Dallas", where he was the original night time soap gangster. RIP Larry, you won't be forgotten.
Linda Gray is and always will be my favorite actress. She's so beautiful, graceful and a great actress. Watching the entire Dallas series on dvd now and loving it.
RIP..these characters: MISS ELLIE, JOCK EWING, HOWARD KEEL, DONNA REED for 1 season as MISS ELLIE, JR EWING, & CLIFF BARNES!! those are the main characters i can think of. WHAT A DELIGHTFUL CAST ... they worked off each other so well. betty gordon, ames, iowa fan
R.I.P. Larry Hagman. I'm from Fort Worth, Tx. also. I grew up watching I Dream of Jeanie and Dallas , Dallas movies and the Dallas reboot. I just never got tired of it no matter how many times i had seen it. Thos is how powerful Larry Hagman was. When he passed they had to cancel the 2012-2013 series. John Ross III was no J.R. (John Ross II) Ewing. I love the entire cast but without a real scoundrel villain you have no show. Farewell to one of the greatest actors to grace the screen.....
I miss him so much. I loved him as an actor; from Anthony Nelson on I Dream Of Genie, to JR Ewing on Dallas. I am SO HAPPY that I got the chance to see this man in his art for over 30yrs. These young people aren’t as lucky as we are who lived to see Larry Hagman at his peak. I can say that I LIVED during the time of Larry Hagman. Rest in Eternal Love Larry Hagman
Rest In Peace. When Mr. Larry Hagman died he took along with him J.R. Ewing. Both of them will be missed always. His family and too, the millions of people who know him as the great J.R. .
could you explain that better ... a "fall" saved your life when you were a teen? so you ended up watching dallas recuperating??? thanks. betty gordon, ames, iowa
Dallas was brilliant I loved it Larry JR was something ELES he was loved never will we see anything close to Dallas never. They were all brilliant.RIP LARRY you were the best, 🇮🇪☘
Rest In Peace, Larry Hagman. What a brilliant actor he was. He has left behind such a huge legacy as the man we all loved to hate, JR Ewing on the tv series Dallas.
Larry hangman and Patrick Duffy will always be my TV stars, as a child I would sit down with coffee at 10am south african morning time watching Dallas, that was in 2006, now I'm 35 in 2024, it broke me to bits to hear my favorite oil magnate and cowboy rolemodrl died in real life, he's role as Jr Ewing glued me for he was one bad ass, sneaky, business man and cowboy, he knew how to get out of a situation, he knew how to get rid of competition. He was the action figure of Dallas, RIP Larry hagman (Jr Ewing)
Dallas was on too late for me when I was a kid but thank goodness for cmt re running the episodes when I was in college 3x's a day and I would watch all 3 episodes if I could along with my older brother who watched them when they originally can out I love this show
So sad, Linda and Patrick were both very close to Larry. I read where Larry and his wife very good to Linda and took her on trips with them and helped her during her divorce.
The whole cast and even the opening list of characters was charmed and special. The way their last names fell right into place.Over the years the Ewings epitomized the American family and what really was going on. ...And JR Ewing was the "MAN"... He loved his family and respected Jock like any father would appreciate. From one Larry to another; thank you "Bud"...I'll call the Cattlemans and have Dora Mae set up our favorite table!!!!! ( I own the entire series on DVD. )
I can't think of an actor in my lifetime who had more of a long term effect on me. I watched him as a child on I Dream of Jeannie, was glued to him weekly on Dallas and was thrilled to see him on the reboot. To say he was a talented actor is an understatement. Thanks for the memories Larry. You played the best of humanity and the worst of humanity and I loved watching it all!
Pam and Kristin were the ones that did it for me 😍🥰😘, but I believe her beauty was in how she grew with the series from being one of the most stuck up and emotionally pathetic to one of the strongest, able to fight JR as an equal. Also, what a gorgeous set of legs 😘😍.
Dallas was my favorite friday night tv show.never missed an espisode.wish it could come back on Jr was quite a chatacter.causing all kinds of trouble with his family.rip jr.l loved you
i gotta echo what many of you said...i watched as a kid...being born 2 years before it started. then, as a college linebacker, i'd rush back from workouts to watch the re-runs on TNN...and JR was the main reason. great actor, and apparently a great guy.
Larry Hangman portrayed J.R. Ewing as a consumate villain who know what he wanted, he took his losses in stride and STILL got it back and more in the end, as Mr Spock's greeting said, he lived long and prospered
The love and respect Linda and Patrick had for Larry was beautiful❤ This does not surprise me at all. Even I had a great deal of respect for Larry Hagman, whether he was JR Ewing or the Major on "I Dream if Jeannie".
