Part 1: • Dallas Austin on Growi...
---------
In this clip, Dallas Austin discussed the impact Bell Biv Devoe had on meshing R&B with hip-hop, both sonically and visually. Dallas also touched on his experience as a teenage producer being hired to produce the entire Boyz II Men album. He was only 16 at the time but found himself in bad contracts which didn't allow him to reap the rewards of his creative labor.

People say R.Kelly is the R&B King, but they don't understand that Babyface OWNED R&B music back then! If these kids think The Dream & Ne-Yo are the GOAT Songwriters, they better research Babyface & his dominance as a Songwriter in the 90s!
@JERRODAYERSTV

@TGF25

JRod TV Word! A mid-tempo track from Babyface & a ballad from Diane Warren was a guaranteed way to sell 3 to 10 million albums in the 90s, easily!!!
@TGF25
@TGF25 4 года назад
Diane V Hell no! I respect Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis too, but most of their hits is mostly attached to Janet success! Babyface worked for many others from Bobby & Whitney to Madonna & Eric Clapton! Also you have to remember, Babyface was the creative, LA Reid was the business man! That's why when TLC was signed those bad contracts, they sued LA Reid & Pebbles, you notice they didn't sue Face, right? You disrespect Babyface, you gets NO HITS! Period! Also, Diane Warren 1st placement and hit, was Rhythm Of The Night by Debarge in the mid 80s! Her 1st song out the gate was a SMASH, and that's what caught David Foster's attention to begin with! It was the Debarge's biggest & last hit but Diane was just getting started!

Teddy Riley created a whole genre off of his production “New Jack Swing”, Babyface had a signature winning sound, and Jam and Lewis were the most versatile! They were the Cream of the Crop. If you couldn’t get or afford them, then u went to R Kelly, P Diddy, Jermaine Dupree. Then the Dallas Austins and ur third tiered producers. Those top three crafted the 90’s sound and provided surefire hits!!!

Okay time to speak some real. Teena Marie was the first person I heard merging rapping and singing and she was a white woman, the second person I heard do that was Bobby Brown, after that came BBD and they really took it to another level and changed da game
@TBoogy3

Teena and Deborah Harry (Blondie) were two of the first, at a similar time, and both were white women. Deborah even had very early Fab Five Freddy in the video.

Ezekiel 23:28 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated Ezekiel 23:29 And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms Ezekiel 23:30 I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, a nd because thou art polluted with their idols. Ezekiel 23:31 Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand Ezekiel 23:32 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou shalt drink of thy sister's cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much Ezekiel 23:33 Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria Ezekiel 23:34 Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD Ezekiel 23:35 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms Ezekiel 23:36 The LORD said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations Ezekiel 23:37 That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.

Should've asked Dallas what happened with the Beat Kangz or BKE Beat Thang drum sampler! They had something that started to get big, then big heads happened. Not saying Austin had anything to do with the downfall.

Him and Sean did the production on the first album. Even the dudes did a decent portion of production..IE why the issues on the second album. They believed they showed that They could produce an album
