This was the game where I first thought the Cowboys would repeat as champions. They were able to elevate their game to a level that nobody else could reach.
Emmitt has some really nice highlights in this. To be honest, aside from the penalties this was a rather dominant win. I think the penalty issue is what upset Jimmy the most about this game.
@@MNsportsnut The doubleheader thing is for national broadcasts I believe. I have lists of when each game was played and what crew did them and each network usually had at least 1 4pm game. Maybe only in select regions. A quick example from 1990 Week 1 all 4pm games are NBC but Weeks 2 and 3 have NBC 4pm games even though it's CBS' doubleheader. Then NBC has doubleheader Week 4 and CBS has a game. At 18:56 that's not a catch but no one including Madden caught it. Chris Carter only got his right foot down then his left forearm out of bounds. The left foot step was before he caught the ball. Instant Replay was years late. Heck, decades. At 33:42 Madden dispels all doubt he is an ignorant man. In this case he wants everyone to know he knows nothing about HVAC design or enclosed stadium engineering in general. Apparently he never looked up to observe the differences in roof construction of any enclosed stadium. The Metrodome stadium had a fiberglass fabric roof that was self-supported by air pressure which means even more horsepower for the air supply fans than a steel structure roof stadium that would only have enough horsepower for the prescribed number of air volume changes during a game. "Seriously, I mean y'know the chemistry or whatever it is y'know you get oxygen from grass." He actually believes there isn't enough oxygen because it an enclosed stadium that doesn't have any grass plus all the spectators using oxygen. Then a picture of the original outdoor stadium is shown. In winter. When there would be no living grass. But because it's outside there's plenty of oxygen in his mind. Madden is the reason I often mute games to avoid his mindless blather. I could never understand his appeal. Or Howard Cosell. Couldn't stand either one.
