J.R. was the greatest television villain during his time and was the funniest as well. Larry Hagman brought life and humanity to the villain we all love and hate.
Larry Hagman was the very BEST as J.R. Even when he being evil an caniving he was still quite funny. We will NEVER see another actor who holds this great ability. RIP Larry, we really miss you.
Larry Hagman MADE Dallas what it was. His iconic character alone carried the show throughout its entire run. Of course other actors and actresses contributed at times, but JR contributed all the time. RIP Mr Hagman ! You will always be remembered as JR Ewing the man everyone loved to hate.

Island Girl in Australia history back in 1984 there was this bike outlaw shootout on the streets they killed by standers and each other ... history tells that they agreed on changing they meeting due to Dallas tv series be on the same date of the war in between them ... now if Dallas ain’t one of the most legendary tv series I don’t know what is .
Larry actually brought some of Major Nelson into the JR character because Larry was naturally a funny guy. It takes genius to play someone as nasty as JR so convincingly when you're a nice guy like Larry was.
What is this love, hate crap? JR did what he was taught to do. I love JR, he was the thrust, the best parts of the series. When JR was being a winner that is. As soon as he became a loser and lost things he coveted, he was boring. I love the sequel series as it gave JR his balls, his fangs back for one last go round and allowed him to go out in high fashion.
Amazing, he really was one of a kind. pity there aren't a few more men like that around. Maybe if there were, a lady like me wouldn't spend so much time looking for something she just can't find. Oh boy Mr Hagman , where are you when I need you? Ha! Ha!
Well "darling I'm down at the single" tree if daddy " needs me , or you :) " now do unto others, before they do to you! I remember one show where they are all standing around the bar drinking just before a commercial , and Jr says something simular to this : " daddy were gonna have a whole lot" more money after I get done puncturing those company pension plan's & his dad says good plan Jr , then the commercials , some of Jr's funniest he said was while drinking or the dinner table he'd always tease Lucy or sue Ellen or pam'
Larry Hagman if he did not, should have won awards for the narcissistic villain in this series. A man after my own heart!! Oh wait, I don't have much of one. I have NPD and PPD.

Dan Tee Absolutely agree with that they gave Dynasty an ending and they owe it to the late great Larry Hagman to give the a proper finish and would like to see that myself

JR was the best. Hagman played him so well. I am a limey too. Most villains are English or German but JR is in my top 10. Fabulous character. When men were men.
