@@stevencrowder3990 stop, i watched him consistently he was an above average on ball defender but he never hit shots at a high clip, he had plenty opportunity he wasn’t hitting open shots, might change we’ll see
The Mavs secretly unloading their trash on other teams lately is sneaky af. Bertans ($16M), Williams ($13M) and now THJ ($16M) and their non-contributing asses for basicly PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford and now Grimes. Nico has me convinced that he knows his job
If Grimes can make a leap and shoot the 3 at 40+% this year, he might push Kyrie or Klay (older guys clearly on the decline) to the 6th man role before the year is over.
Not expecting anything crazy like him starting, but i feel he's gonna have a resurgence, as in he's gonna be a key rotational piece on the Mavs. Kyrie and especially Luka command so much attention, I can see his shooting % going up and hopefully efficiently. And the Mavs has great defenders in PJ, Lively, Gafford, and hopefully DJJ if he returns, that allows him to man up on his guy, trusting his teammates have his back so he doesn't be hesitant when defending. I like it as a Mavs fan!
@@anthonybassett4313dude he played for an absolute abysmal pistons team that was tanking the shit out of the season. In addition, Dallas can create many open opportunities for him that the pistons couldn’t. I‘m excited to see what he can do in this new situation!
@@anthonybassett4313this past season, he was in and out of the Knicks rotation as they were testing different players. He didn’t have the opportunity to get any consistency going.
A very good defensive player who has untapped offensive potential. Higher ceiling than Josh Green allows us to resign DJJ and maybe get Klay Thompson or trade for a 3rd scorer. Great trade.
Along with Green and Exum we have three big guards off the bench that are effective, versatile, defenders, are competent behind the arc, and can start in a pinch. Quality depth and it's absolutely needed over the course of the season.
One of them getting traded they not keeping that man guards on a team it won't work. They need lengthy wings clearly as you seen the Celtics bully them all series
He’s better all around than green and Exum (not shitting on them they have their roles). I’m hoping Nico can package green, Kleber, and a 1st for Jerami Grant. He’s worth it. Or Green and a 1st for Deandre Hunter. The time is now.
Agree with hawks players, they got some players there who can fit really well with the mavs. I think Hunter is gonna be worth 2-3 1sts tho, just the way this offseason si shaping up. I think we can sti get him tho
You may be right on. I think Green takes a step up this year but I’m thinking it won’t be w Mavs. I like Grant but $36M/yr is a lot. Would he accept being #3 guy? That being said I’m thrilled about TH trade.
@@jjcometa9333 Man if it was just green+ 2 firsts I don’t know… might still be worth it. He and PJ could just be 3 and 3.5 options and matching up with the Celtics (assuming a whole lot falls into place lol) again with Hunter guarding Tatum and PJ on brown would be solid
I just want all of our players to be healthy and that goes for futute acquisitions. People and media are really disrespecting Luka just because mavs landed at the 5th seed cause of injuries. Hopefully next year majority of our players are healthy
Bro This Dude ..Is Gonna Be Able To Play With Luka & Kyrie ..he’s gonna be better then he was with the Knicks yall forgetting these highlights are this past season 🤦🏾♂️
As Mavs fan this is big. He is only 24 yrs old but is tough as nails and extremely bright. With fresh start w a contender he has opportunity to reset his value as free agent. I see big things for him this year. Perfect fit w Mavs. To be able to get a tough lock down defender who can hit big threes. Luka will love this guy. Hope they can keep him beyond next year. He will never be cheaper to extend than right now. Of course, I trust Nico to make right choices. When Cuban hired Nico, I thought mistake but he is outstanding. Mavs need a scorer off the bench. They need to resign Jones. Look at Mavs now, awesome team with some young guys that are coming on.
Kleber, Green, Exum and Hardy. I know people are adamant about Green and Hardy. And it's not like it's that easy to trade them but if opportunity comes up where we can make a huge leap then I'm all for it
at 0.45 is that really a center he supposedly denies at the rim? Guy is shorter than grimes. #21 is wong, although not sure when this clip was taken, maybe #21 was somebody else then, but still does not appear to be a center
