Dallas Mavericks speak after falling short to Boston Celtics [PRESS CONFERENCE] | 2024 NBA Finals 

Mavs fan here. Nobody expected the Mavs to reach the finals. The script was supposed to be Nuggets/Wolves/Thunder vs. The Celtics. Celtics fully deserve this win. They may have the easier path in the Eastern Conference but they performed where it mattered the most in the Finals. They were just the better team, player and coaching-wise. They've been waiting for this since 2017 since Tatum's first ECF, and 2008 since the last championship. To the Mavs, this is a learning experience. Hopefully they get better next season!

Celtics fan and Luka definitely will be back. He might whine for calls but he's a tough SOB and extremely talented.

As a Celtics fan, I'm in the minority by saying I don't hate Kyrie. If anything I've gained a ton of respect for him just by listening to his post game interviews, the way he speaks it sounds like hes grown and matured a ton.

Respect to the Mavs team and fans and especially Luka.

Celtics fan here, I love Luka, have loved watching him since he entered the league…tough s.o.b and not a quitter by any means. Love Jason Kidd as a coach and don’t even dislike Kyrie despite his antics towards Boston and his attempt to spin it so he’s the victim in that whole drama…Luka is the real deal and they’ll use this to up their game to the next level.

As a Celtics fan I still got love for Luka he's a great player and he'll get a ring someday

Luka is literally thinking of getting in the gym and maximizing conditioning as soon as he gets healthy. Dude is pissed, and he's finally understood what it means to play into June. Gonna be a scary time moving forward, and if the front office doesn't fall asleep at the wheel, Luka probably gets a chip or two in the next half decade

Mavs came out and competed throughout the playoffs and finals. Nobody thought that they’d make it this far but they did it. Celtics were the better team but give credit to the mavs for coming out and fighting. Congrats to the Celtics for their outstanding effort and team collaboration.

Kidd needs to fix how the team works, he can't be doing the samething like Harden Rockets. He got 3 seasons to revamp the offense and toughness of the roster.

Surprised that nobody asks J Kidd why he didn't use the same personnel on the floor as they had in Game 4 using Exum as the PG. That free up and Luka and save his energy and speed up the plays.

Kyrie might be top 5 skilled player, but he just doesn't show up, he's inconsistent. He gives 1 good game in a 4-5 game series. He gets paid way too much to be scoring under 20 multiple games. Against Boston on the Nets he also had 1 good game and all those games were close.

Luka in the playoffs is good for NBA basketball. Man Luka had a crazy run this season. Congratulations to Boston, they were the better team

mavs overachieved this season in the first place... boston was the #1 seed in the regular season so the result is not really surprising... but they all gotta stop using "we're a young team" as an excuse for losing... team building, player chemistry, and injuries doesn't care about age

What I am proud of in this whole thing is that kyrie kept his promise of giving Boston a championship. I believe them playing against him in the finals gave them an extra push to win. I believe porzingis wanted to get back for how luka treated him, and the mavs pushed him to play the he did in games 1, 2, and game 5. I also believe Brad Steven's made a way better GM than a coach.

The West is so competitive, this squad may not get to the WCF, much less the Finals again. They ought to be working hard to make the right strategic trades for role players and maybe a couple cheap, overlooked free agents. They’ve basically spent all their draft capital, but could consider taking a risk in trading Lively and Green if they can land the right veteran that makes sense for “winning now “ while still within the final two years left on Kyrie’s contract. It would not be ideal to have to give up both of those guys, but there really isn’t anything else that they could offer to add to their all-star duo. When the Mavs made it back to the finals in 2011, only Dirk and Terry remained from the 2006 finals team, and took many well calculated and fortunate risks to do it.

Great season! We were never going to beat an all star team, and we had a much harder pathway to even get to the finals.

Luka fans will say his teammates didn’t step up this whole series but won’t bring up Luka being too ball dominant, not giving any effort on defense until game 4, shooting majority of the shots along with Kyrie, committing majority of the turnovers in this series alone.

Luka and Kyrie are amazing players and they'll win one together, maybe 2 or more but they've only been together for 5 months. This experience is great for them all and they'll be back stronger and better than ever. Some team will find a way to beat the Celtics offense consistently and that's the beauty of basketball. Then the Celtics will have to find a way to beat that defense. It's awesome. Luca and Kyrie just need more time to play together and more experiences together. There's no doubt they are both top 10 players in the league and together they should win and they will but look at the Celtics, JT and JB have been together for 7 years. All that experience finally got them over the hump. Everybody knows Luca is one of the best or who are actually the best player in the league and he will win a championship or two

Mavs were in game 2,3 and obviously 4. 1 and 5 were bad. This team if they can learn to close like they did against the Wolves could be elite. As a Celtics fan y'all have a bright future.

Luka may have significant flwas as a player but he is also arguably the best offensive player in the world and should have been the mvp

As a die hard celtics fan. You have to respect kyrie and luka. Sure the complaining from luka can get a bit frustrating but hes still a tremendous talent and is so young hes inevitably going to he the face of the leauge for years to come

Mavs are acting like "oh weve been together for 5 months" but the celtics just added jrue and kp and sam, pp and dwite all just started really getting minutes this year. They have a new team somewhat as well, only og players are tatum and brown really but im sorry kyries experience overshadow that relationship length he shouldve stepped up more instead of everybody making excuses.
