Something I take pride in with my boy is he always smiles. Bad play, strike out versus a hit or great play he still has the same smile. He has even gotten clobbered by hits while pitching or hit hard by pitches while batting, same smile. He plays All Stars as well. More than a few people have mentioned it out of the blue how they love his attitude. 95% of kids need to learn it.
At first I was thinking that he was just being a whiny brat, because in the grand scheme of things-meaning LIFE, this was NOTHING. However, you can't put too much blame on him because, and let's get real now, he's seen that behavior from ADULT PROFESSIONAL MILLIONAIRES on some team...ANY TEAM..SOME TIME.
Steve Bunker umps love low pitches over the plate, like low low a few inches over the plate low. Drives me insane as a parent of an all star and former player myself. Then a pitch at the belt will be called a ball. Makes Zero sense and has been this way forever. Whenever I volunteer during fall league to ump my zone will be just below the knees to the belt.
