Syed Usman Marwandi[3] (1177 - 1274), popularly known as Lal Shahbaz Qalandar(Sindhi: لعل شھباز قلندر), was a Sufi saint and religious-poet of present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan.[1] He is highly regarded and respected by people of all religions because he preached religious tolerance among Muslims and Hindus.[1][2] He was called Lal("ruby-colored") after his usual red attire and "Shahbaz" to denote a noble and divine spirit and "Qalandar" as he was a wandering holy man.[1] The spiritual song "Dama Dam Mast Qalandar" glorifies Lal Shahbaz Qalandar's teachings, and the song is widely used in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Originally written in the 13th century, the song has been sung by various singers since then, and is widely popular in the sub-continent.

Jeko chawundo Jhule Lal Tehnija Theenda Bera Paar.. some ppl say its a muslim song as it has lal shahbaz qalandar.. some ppl say its a hindu song as it has jhulelal.. but we all know its a sindhi song written by amir khusrow of uttar pradesh and modified by bulleh shah of punjab and loved by all ppl from indian subcontinent.. irrespective of hindu muslim sikh christian sindhi punjabi gujarati marathi pakistani indian Bangladeshi...
It is quite not related to Muslims, it is a song of a community named as Sindhis, which, after the Mughal empire need dominant conversions into Islam, but originally they all are Hindus. Sindhis in India are on Hindus and their key factor of identification is the suffix of ANI in their surnames or the suffix of JA in their surnames, such as Lal Krishna ‘Advani’, Ranveer Singh ‘Bhawnani’ and Rajkumar ‘Hirani’ Please note that there are certain exceptions. You might see and question yourself that some Muslims do have the suffix of a NI in their surnames, such as Rehmani and Kadwani, it is due to they belong from the Sindhi hereditary only but their ancestors with some of the other reason got converted, but as we know, culture is different from religion, and a person might change the way they worship, but never his mindset and culture. Do let me know if you want to know more about this.
@@shivamkulshrestha1712 Please be particular that it is not a ‘ converted’ song is the Sufi saint mentions about the culture prevailing at that time, that was a mix of Hindus and Muslims. The Sindhis follow Bhagwaan Jhulelal ( Jhulelal Sain ) and he is the avatar (incarnation) of the god of water or sea that is Varun Dev Due to a certain set of events and stories, he was the savior of all of the Sindh enhance every religious person would consider him to be a God, prophet or ‘peer’. So that is why he is mentioned in Muslims and Hindu tales, but I should clarify that he is primarily of Hinduism. Do let me know to find out more about it, and please be considerate on what you are setting as an example to the society, this can not be acceptable by the community and due to ignorance, we shall take some actions, if required in the future.
