I agree. I remember her very first appearance on TV from Cardiff. You could tell then she was going to be a star. The best singer Britian every produced. I saw her live show in Toronto, Canada magnificent.
THIS LADY IS MY FAVOURITE SINGER A. Fabulous person. I LOVE LOVE HER SO MUCH. . I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS GOODNESS KNOWS HOW IVE MISSED. IT. .THANK YOU SHIRLEY ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes yes there will never be another one like her . She gives so much passion in her songs. Such energy, class and elegance. Yes there are other great singers but there will never be another Shirley Bassey thankyou
I saw Shirley perform at the Royal Albert Hall and she must have been in her 60s. She was outstanding. The rapport Shirley had with the audience, her fans, felt so intimate and they clearly adored her (myself included). She really is one of the UKs greatest talents and a lovely lady too.
Shirley is such a star and still making great albums in her 80s. When I was very little I used to see her in Bayswater gardens taking her daughter to play in the park as I did. She was quite petite wore a tight head scarf and had ' good carriage' , (as my mother used to say) .
No singer comes close, Shirley is more emotive, has more class, glamour, personality, and more professionalism than anyone else. She knew her voice was a gift given to her and didn't waste her gift like so many other singers.
She's nearly 60 here, and Miss Bassey is STILL an ABSOLUTE KNOCK-OUT !! There is NOT a SINGLE performer today that could even COMPARE to her, NOT A SINGLE one, maybe Barbra S, but NO ONE ELSE !! She doesn't need ANY of the technical stuff. She is ABSOLUTE CLASS !!!
She means what she sings, these ladys needed no enhancement, its like their emotion became so strong it became part of their voice, whitney was such a loss 47 years old, I've always listened to Shirley as she was always being played at mum & dads, my nans, aunts etc, national treasure, would have loved to hear her sing that vicky carr song, with pen in hand..... naturals like these are very thin on the ground nowadays, shows like BGT & X factor ruined finds like these, people go for good looks now rather than good thoughts, and I aint saying Shirley, whitney or Vicki aint lookers, just people like Cowell are given to much say, I'd love to hear him knock out a sam cook tune like change is gonna come, most people know quality when they hear it, put Shirley in his seat, proper old school, judge people on their talent not their sob storys.....
Just caught the 007 concert from October last year. Nearly 86 she tore the roof off (and maybe the ozone layer!) with back to back Diamonds Are Forever and Goldfinger.
07122020 Mon :::1059:::11000km / 6000 km ~ Still listen to Shirley Bassey ( 2020 ) especially e early years, such stage presence, most favourite songs ~ Never, Never, Never ; There's No Such Thing As Love. Hope she appears n sings during this Covid - 19 crisis?
I was there that night. Saw the cameras at the end and wondered was what happining. Then Shirley ran back on stage followed by Michale. We were all disappointed that the show wasn;t done at the RAH
After watching this and a documentary about Shirley, I get the feeling that wives were very nervous 2 leave their husbands alone with Miss Shirley 😁😁😆😆
I wish James Bond miss broccoli , would offer 1 more song to our Shirley to cement her as a 4 times bond singer never to be surpassed , also “Moonraker “is my fav . Even if it’s not everyone’s , and Shirley only did it as a favour to chubby , as they were let down .? Who was supposed to sing it
Johnny Mathis had recorded but the powers that be didn't like it so DSB was approach..and recorded very quickly as the film was about to be released and it was the very end of her contract with United Artists records .Moonraker was the last recording for DSB with that label but the disco version should have been on the titles and the slow version at the the of the film ..which given the era of disco makes sense. Rumour has it DSB was furious that the disco version wasn't placed as agreed
what is she wearing ..my goodness and that hair ...😨 was that the 1980s . My father thought she was fabulous.....the 60s This is talent. The voice and a simple straightforward performance, Not the rubbish in 2022 under the umbrella of some kind of super talent....
