I remember when I a kid of about 7 yrs old, I was turning the tv channels. A beautiful lady whom I never seen before was singing, as I was watching my mother came in the room and said, ooh Shirley Basset I sure do like her, and that's how came to know this power house of a voice, and entertainer. She still got it.
Watching her at the end just trying to get as many of her sisters and family into her arms as quickly as she could was just lovely ❤️ beautiful lady inside and out

Even if her songs were quite difficult to learn as a real Dame Diva of the Century, i still could sing now her songs like Never Never Never, This is My Life, Gooldfinger and more. All in Male Baritenor arrangement. She is really a teasure in the World of Music. She remains my Number 1 Singing Idole todate. Bravado Mi Dame Shirley Bassey. I love you so dearly.
Thanks for sharing your story!! Those are not easy songs to sing. Shirley’s voice is so sultry and gorgeous she owns every song she sings!! Like “ The joker is me”. Sammy Davis Jr and Anthony Newley great recordings but not in the same ballpark as Shirley.
Saw the one also they did for her in 1993 , This is your Life . Her voice , lung power , glamour , specially now her later years always been a fan . Wish people would stop writing of kids tell all’s of world singers and film stars . It is a life that the applause , adoration of world wide fans they need deep within often and yes , one cannot have it all and oft kids , family ( immediate ) “ suffer “ in a way the lack and or oft times , affection , time together . This was before the death of Dame Shirley's 21 year old youngest daughter , Samantha. Her eldest daughter Sharon was 30 when Samantha died in 1985 and said in a 1994 interview that Samantha was always a bit rebellious and hated that her mother travelled nonstop for her career. After Dame Shirley buried her daughter in 1985, she lost her voice at a concert in Australia and realized she had not properly grieved her daughter ; a voice coach she hired worked with her for the next 10 years after that to help Shirley recover and perform again. Shirley had been estranged from her adopted grand nephew Mark until the 1990s after he wrote a tell all book about how chaotic life was growing up with Shirley Bassey the entertainer...in the 1990s they reconciled.
A wonderful warm and loving human being. One can plainly see the great love, admiration and respect she has for her family and friends... we thank God for you Shirley Bassey.

micheal aspel was given the big red book and it was very awkward. andrews had become ill around that time and there was talk that Aspel was going to take over. Andews died and ITV came to aspel and aspel and asked him but Aspel was reluctant but aspels career was not going anywhere and he accepted the then biggest job on TV.
Micheal aspel's career had been reduced to doing childs play and then later aspel and company and he was very shocked to get the big red book and retired quietly after Antiques roadshow.

Novak served as Bassey's manager throughout this time. With Novak she adopted her grand-nephew, Mark. The fathers of Bassey's two daughters, Sharon Bassey (a.k.a. Sharon Novak, 1954), whom she gave birth to at the age of 16, and Samantha Bassey (a.k.a. Samantha Novak, born 1963), are unknown. Her older daughter Sharon was initially brought up by Bassey's sister, and thought of her mother as Auntie Shirley. When Bassey became successful, she was reunited with Sharon. "I wasn't, you know, cut out to be a mum", Bassey states. However, Bassey's first husband suggested that Samantha, born during the couple's marriage, was the result of an affair between Bassey and Peter Finch. In 1965, according to an article in Jet, "There is a big dispute in London over who is the father of tempestuous singer Shirley Bassey's baby. The ordeal of losing her daughter caused Bassey to temporarily lose her voice. Sharon told the inquest her younger sister sometimes drank to excess and had received treatment for depression. When asked how difficult it was to cope with Samantha's death, Bassey said "It was difficult. Neither girl liked my constantly being absent and going away frequently, but Samantha, she really took it to heart. And every time the suitcases came up from the basement the kids would be on no, not again". In a 2009 interview, Bassey stated that she and her adopted great-nephew, whom she considered her son, Mark, had reconciled. Bassey has four grandsons through her surviving daughter, Sharon Novak, and current resides in Monaco. My great Aunt Shirley, my great grandmother is her sister, can I please correct your. Sharon has 3 sons not 4. The reason she does not have contact with her siblings is this, just before Samantha (her second daughter died) Samantha reached out to her real family (Us) , she was a lovely girl as my mother recalls. Shirley took Samantha's rebellion as a rebutall, Samantha was looking for love, comfort and support, Shirley brought her children up on drugs, it was an easy way option rather than being a parent. Yes great voice, but parenting skills were horrendous, she has not reunited with Mark, my other great Aunts grandson, Shirley only adopted him, because she wanted a son, and money counts. All her siblings have had great lives, and wonderful family memories. She was a great artist but she should never have married or had children. She cheated on her first husband and lost a daughter aged 21 to drugs! She was only ever interested in her career. And not to see your only sister for 25 years when you are traveling the world and are rich......
