It’s not necessarily the coaches fault. They need to do something about Westbrook. Him walking around ignoring all criticism and not listening to his coaches and advice is destroying his team. Like Collin says, the Thunder and the media enabled Westbrook to do what he wants and they created a monster.

@@skillethead15 Who have his coaches been? Brooks and Donovan? Has Washington gotten any better with Brooks? John Wall and Russ have same problem, they're not good shooters. However, it is partially Donovan's fault because he doesn't change game plan when it's not working. Adam's got out-rebounded by Kanter all night. OKC had 44 boards to Portland's 60; that's 16 more possessions with a better shooting backcourt. Why would you not get offensive rebounds OKC? Russ should have driven to the hole more. He shot 89% from the FT line, as opposed to his 66% in regular season. They gave up a 15pt lead .... they need Robertson back. Refs didn't make good calls on both sides. Ferguson had only 3 points in 3 of the 5 games, as the starting SHOOTING guard. They can't shoot consistently, that's their problem

Westbrook doesn't play harder than anyone on defense or when he's not handling the ball. The triple doubles are less impressive when you look at how many contested rebounds he gets. His teammates basically give them to him.

Jason Vyzer so he should get the blame ? How do you get a triple double ? You gotta pass it and your teammates have to score right to get the assist. If they not hitting then of course the star is gonna try and score more. Okc will not win in till they invest proper money into a bench that can go far in the playoffs and they've neglected that aspect the last three years or more. Man that shot is going to go down in history as an instant classic. I watched the entire game from tip off and past the post game interviews. When Dame was bringing the ball up I knew he wouldn't go anywhere near the 3 point line. All game he was clinical and deadly efficient. I just knew he was going to run the clock and pull up one more time. But knowing that didn't stop me from waking up everyone in my house the moment it went in. Props to all the work he and his team have put in since the last post season. Dame Time ladies and gents :)

No call when Dame got hit from behind when he sank a 3. No call when an OKC player trips Dame when Dame went for the loose ball. No call when a Portland player gets "blocked" but it was his hand that got whacked. OKC knocks the ball out, clear on the replay, but refs give the ball to OKC. But Skip brings up Russ charging and disagrees with the call, which was good. Portland did what championship teams do....they got angry by the arrogance and poor officiating but channeled that anger in to buckets and playing harder, following Dame. That was a career moment for Dame, and while it's his #1 so far, in the next 4 years we'll see a few better. #RipCity

Honesty I don’t think Westbrook’s triple doubles are selfish or stat padding, the team usually win, but the truth is that Westbrook’s basketball IQ is very suspect as guard stupid turnovers and forced shots can’t happen. Til he fixes those he’s gonna keep getting bounced in the first round

A good way to realize how different a animal that the west is compared to the east is too look at the success of Lebron and Paul George , two guys that had been on top of the east multiple times and then they come out west and just make little to no noise at all an you kno it’s tough out here when the only way that they’d be successful is if they teamed up and played on the same team lol

Nick Seul the Lakers b4 Byron’s injury were 20-14 and 4th in the West. When he came back they were 10th. Do u know hard of a hole that is to dig itself out of? Plus more and more players started to get injured and the AD situation.

That was a great game, all the players gave it their all and played great offense and defense on both sides, including Westbrook. My hat goes off to the coaches, players, refs (for letting them play), fans, camera men, and the NBA for one of the best games yet, down to the last second and tied, either team could have won, and neither outplayed the other, they both gave it their all! Much Props, especially after all of the other blowouts that day.

This series and Dame's performance was what he needed to prove where he was on the PG hierarchy. You might've felt that Damian Lillard was being underrated in the best pg conversation but he had yet to prove it. What happened with Westbrook is no secret. People have been criticizing him for years but are called haters for doing so. The players even knew this when they told you right before the playoffs that Westbrook was tied for most overrated.
