Damien Hirst and former governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, sat down to discuss 'The Currency’, NFTs, money, gold and Karl Marx. You can learn more on our Discord: / discord and apply on www.heni.com until 3pm BST 21 July 2021.
This is exceptional. In concept all the way through to the dissemination of the pieces. This is a masterful artistic presentation. Bravo, and congratulations to the winners.
Carney “so Damien, you’ve been very skilled at investing in old rope over the years, where do you see you work in 5 years time” Damien “indeed my 15 minutes in art history are up, the Bayswater road railings beckon”
Was surprised that MK did not answer why people pay more for art when its all the same £200 canvas and materials. That old saying "value in the eye of the beholder" comes to mind.
Oh crap… I picked up a bunch because I thought they were postcards I could cut up and use in my sketchbook 😳 Thankfully I didn’t cut them up but now I have a bunch of artwork that might end up being destroyed!! Argh! Is there a way to give them back?
Interesting idea. I wish NFT's were not so taxing on the environment. Esp since he made 10k of them. sigh... I just wish it looked cooler. Why can't "contemporary art" look cool? Why must the image be mundane dots on a piece of paper. Of all the things to do, sporadic dots on paper.
Great concept I think he's mocking crypto currency by adding something materialistic and If I owned one I would keep the artwork, one to keep an eye on in the future,i can see them increasing in value and keeping a value because one will always own something unlike crypto currency.
Hope you take care of the carbon offsetting for all the crypto transaction CO2 costs. I'm sure you are well aware of the ruinous carbon cost of NFT sale transactions. You might want the extra money to reduce global warming, you've got enough haven't you?
Nonsense. I like abstract, modern contemporary art, but his art is b.s. And this currency nft collection is b.s. He does not have a solid direction and copies other unknown artists.
