Hey happy Friday! The bad water is going to come in and destroy everything on that island. Because the bad tide will corrupt the ground and the plants and trees will die very quickly. I would probably just put in a bypass at the bot of the waterfall where the water sources are. So, you can just bypass the bad water when it comes out. Hope this helps. Thanks

You forgot to shut the incoming floodgates in the drought!!!!!!!

I think you should add a platform between islands for when a bad tide happens, otherwise they'll all get sick.

the optimal number of lumberjacks per forester is 4 lumberjacks to 1 forester. If you have the forester planting oaks after 30 days the lumberjacks will never be idle and the oaks never sit over night.

You need as many floodgates as you have water blocks.

Changing your paths may improve how fast things get done. Also swapping their diet to primarily mangrove fruits may be good too as they don't require extra steps (if I recall right)
