This is Donna wanting to come across as innocent grandmother type. WTF?!!! An innocent person would NOT hesitate to call police IMMEDIATELY. On top of that they truly believe that whatever crime they committed is no big deal or not a crime at all. That's why they override their lawyers because they also think that they can persuade or con the jury into believing their side of their story.

If you didn't have a single thing to do with the murder, you wouldn't continue the phone call for 5 seconds. You wouldn't leave a voicemail and then call your son with a cryptic conversation. NO ONE would do that. They would call the cops ASAP and tell them what happened. If you had NOTHING to do with the murder, you would not call Charlie...and Charlie call Catherine who 'looks into it' and then back to Donna and then back to Charlie. Please. Innocent people don't do that.
