Or when she came up with a plan to free Damon of his compulsion, complete the hunter's mark and get rid of one of their enemies all in one go. Or when no humanity her finally addresses Caroline's hypocritcal "crush" on Klaus. She might not have been allowed as many savage moments as she should've gotten, but she did have her moments.
After Katherine said “it’s always been Stefan” and Elena said “it’ll always be Stefan” my heart broke for him. He deserved to be chosen by at least one of them. That’s why I was so happy when they ended up together.

Nothing will even beat watching the delena 2x08 moment for the first time. Seeing Damon’s tears as he compelled his love away form her is so beautiful and tragic. The way Damon thinks he doesn’t deserve her. I’m so glad Damon got to have a happy ending with Elena. 😭

He’s not a good guy but it’s not about the circumstances here. The people of our time think love is giving and getting. But if something bad happens they leave, don’t love each other anymore and so on. True love is just love. You love the person just for existing, not because you get something in return for your love. You repair and work things out. And you’re not obsessed. Just forever in love. That’s rare. And heaven yes I want that regardless of him being a vampire, a normal student or whoever else.😁

Can I just say that Damon always put Elena first and was never selfish with her. He met her first and let her go on living a good happy life and Stefan showed up and was selfish and tried to be with her. Damon always made sure she was protected and yes, Stefan let her make her own decisions but Damon always made sure she was safe and by Stefan letting her make her own decisions he often put her at risk. And Stefan made Elena feel like so many situations were her fault but he dragged her into things. And Damon was the better man when he said Stefan was the better man, Damon didn’t want her to choose; Stefan did. Damon is the better man. (This is my opinion though so don’t take it too personally, agree to disagree) :)
Damon murdered dozens of people at the start of the series with his humanity switched on... he literally snapped her brother's neck and turned his girlfriend into a vampire, not to mention fed on her best friend and nearly drove her insane with his constant compulsions 😂 his shenanigans released the tomb vampires for crying out loud! Elena did always seem like trying to stay away from him in front of others but when they were alone she was acting like his girlfriend or sometimes even wife... Especially after they became friends she was actually falling for him already before she even knows it. Come on now even when she was supposed to be mad at him or fighting she was always like staring at his lips..What Elena we thought you said you'd never kiss him 😂 The special bond between them and the freaking sexual tension,she forgot that Stefan existed most of the times lol. Delena is indescribable but we already know that they were meant to be from the beginning ❤️

The moment Alaric staked Klaus, it was no longer about what Elena wanted, but about her saying goodbye. Klaus siring their bloodline mapped out the future for her. She believed she was losing her family.

I often tell fans that Elena was gonna break up with Stefan in their bedroom scene in 3x22. It's not just in her words and tone of voice, but in her body language. She just got done saying every time someone leaves her house, there's a chance they may not make it back. Stefan is literally about to leave her house to face Alaric, and there's a chance he may not make it back. That's why she said they can talk later. In 4x1, it's the same thing. Her and Stefan were both taken from her house, and there's a chance they may not make it back. She's again forced to wait until later. The breakup she wanted in 3x22 happens in 4x6. Elena didn't need help from the sire bond to hook up with Damon, she was more than ready. The only thing the sire bond did was drag out their love triangle for the rest of the season. Elena made two choices - one sooner because they were dying and one later because they didn't. So you get Elena lying to Damon in 3x22, then lying to Stefan in 4x1. You then get Elena telling Stefan the truth in 4x6, and telling Damon the truth in 4x7. Insert the sire bond to drag it out for the rest of the season. 4x23 pulls a full circle back to 3x22, that's why Stefan leaves town with Silas' body. Damon was her first choice, but Alaric staked Klaus.

I love when we find out that Damon met Elena first 😍 and he compelled her back then and she describes how he makes her feel in a later season and it's what he said when he compelled her. Damon is so gorgeous ❤️
I grew up with this show and I'm still rewatching it without feeling bored for one sec and I just gotta say - I will always be jealous of their love story. It's truly so beautifully written, and I'd love nothing more than to experience at least 2% of what they had in my own real life. I love them so much 🥺
Okay but listen. I'm a total Delena stan. My BFF thinks Damon is a literal Demon. She thinks that he is a heartless cold-blooded monster. I'm over here like.. what the heck. Girl. You've only seen the first 5 episodes. Damon is such a sweet guy.
He must have returned that dang necklace to Elena 3-4 times throughout the entire series! The fact that it carried so much meaning for Stelena relationship added a bittersweet touch. Damon displayed remarkable selflessness when it came to Elena.
so many clips inserted my emotions are breaking but I love it so much that when I think of these scenes I can cry. And the thought that they're living in this lifetime without each other's arms hurt so fucking much 😭😭😭😭
Damon and Elana’s relationship and Damon by himself was the only reason this show kept going on. It was so enthralling and unpredictable because of Damon.

@@codeysnow2980 Actually, Stefan was concerned that there were more than 20 vampires in this tomb and if they came out, they would kill a lot of people. So the council has already realized that vampires have appeared in the city. Plus, he was sure that Katherine had used them.

Look guys, I love Damon, and sure I kinda liked Stefan too( lol no, was rooting for Delena from day 1 when he showed up with his 'Hello Brother') , and I think most why most ppl like him isn't coz he was better than Stefan. Its coz he was self aware. He knew what he was(a vampire), who he was(a bad guy) and owned it. Also, he wasn't afraid to after something or someone he liked, coz he was selfish too. Stefan is always contrasted to him as the figurative 'good guy', always trying to restrict himself(bunny blood), wanting Elena but too self sacrificing and self torturing and emo(like Edward). He's a bad guy too, killed lord knows how many ppl(innocent btw) in his 'Rippperrr'(in Klaus' voice) phase, but still thought he was the better person than Damon (...lol). Damon was selfish, he was always good for and to the person he loved(Katherine/Elena), loved with abundance, gave it his all, knew he was bad but if the right person wanted him, he wasn't going to hold back(i.e. selfish). That's the reason many like him. Katherine.....I know we all hated her bcoz she was selfish and terrible, and non trusting, lying and backstabbing hoe, BUT, -having your newborn baby ripped away from you never to be seen -sent far away from your parents bcoz u got preggo before marriage -you first love(i assume) turning out to be a bloodthirsty murderer and wanting to sacrifice you -having your whole family stabbed and murdered just coz you were 'selfish' to want to live -then having to run for eternity for the horrible selfishness you displayed(see last pt.) would do that a person. She was a survivor, and be it beg,borrow,steal or kill, she did it all to survive....but could never live, as the price she CHOSE to pay for her survival was her life, literally( she became a vampire). P.S. this is fiction guys, don't get too invested......XD
Yep he didn’t pretend to be better than anyone he owned who he was and was comfortable just being him Stefan had a martyr complex and hated himself while still thinking he was better than others, although at times he did give us some comedy gold Also it might just be me but a LOVED Katherine she was one of my favourite characters 😂 I wanted to see her her a redemption arch I think her and Stefan suited each other much more than Stefan and Elana did

Damon was the better choice for Elena, honestly speaking. His love for her was selfless, and he went to crazy lengths to protecting her...lengths that made her resent him but he'd rather she be alive and hate him than not live at all. I'm sorry, Stefan was just possessive and weird..he was kind of using her to rid his own self-loathing. She represented the good he wanted to be. He couldn't stand any change in her and practically combusted when she displayed any imperfection. Damon loved her as she was, and encouraged the fire within her.
possessive and weird is damon for going after a 17 year old girl while being 25 and always calling her kid and then sexually assaults her bc she loved his brother and not him, nasty.
I always prefer Damon cos he felt more relatable in the end. He had bonding fear and acted jealous and toxic cos he loved her. He struggled the most with himself than Stefan when it came to relationships. He would put his vampirism to be normal because that part he learned to deal with and abuse sadly but when he met Elena and their time together improved, you start to see a better Damon. He always admitted how he had impulses, he was honest and that made him charming and dangerous cos he didn't see his actions as a weakness. But when Elena came, he felt weak and vulnerable and he didn't want that time back from before he turned into a vampire. When he compelled Elena over and over again so she wouldn't remember his confession and run away is classic attachment disorder. Him raising his voice and fighting people too.
