People who say he fell in love with the version of her he wrote about in his book clearly didn’t watch the show. The way he wrote about her showed that from the beginning he was able to see she wasn’t as bad as he initially thought. It wasn’t a different version of her, he showed her good qualities that many overlook. They then formed a friendship and he got to see just how intelligent she was aside from academics. She was vulnerable with him and he slowly realized they weren’t so different. Dan loved her in a way he never loved Serena in my opinion.

Dan and Blair is the only healthy-relationship of all the show. In 2024 they are the couple of the show...they are perfect and better together

Back when I first watched Gossip Girl and Dan and Blair storyline came up, I was like "No, that's weird". But, now that I'm an adult and watched it again, I was like "Yeah, that made sense. They should be together".

I love that this ship is considered unpopular. They are literally the most underrated couple in the show. And friends or couple doesn’t matter, Dan and Blair carried season five.

Dan had gotten to know Blair without the pressures of a romantic relationship and realized that she may be what he actually wanted instead of Serena who he thought was his dream.

I love the dynamic between Dan and Blair. the whole enemies to friends to lovers was very intriguing to watch and the microexpressions that the wonderful actors portrayed to sort of foreshadow the progression of their relationship was very well done.

I really loved this storyline. I felt that Dan always saw the best in Blair even when she didn’t. She helped him write again. They shared similar interests and it always seemed that Blair was more of a real person when she was around him. That he always listened to her and tried to never judge her.

This was the character development we needed but didn’t get. The original ending was honestly a set back for everyone (except maybe Nate)

He sees the side of blair people refuse to see and falls in love with her for that. She let her being vulnerable and soft around him because he cares and he will always be there for her. This pairing is so sweet and made us smile all episodes.

They were so good together, so non toxic , genuine and real Wish they were the end game

Watching the show, I knew that Dan and Blair would probably not end up together, even though they were by far the best and healthiest romance of the series. In real life, most people would root for those two because of the set up of their 'slow burn' relationship: Blair the ultimate snobbish insider and Dan the ultimate judgmental outsider who go from being strangers to enemies to bickering rivals to friends and then finally to boyfriend and girlfriend. Their relationship was based on a real, genuine friendship and mutual respect and love of culture as well as a palpable chemistry. And they both clearly brought out the best in each other. Dan and Serena's relationship never evolved beyond a childish high school romance and Chuck and Blair's was perhaps passionate, but incredibly toxic and borderline abusive. But it seemed that those two "iconic" pairings were set early on even though they really didn't make sense in season 6. But what was worse was that the writers reverted Dan and Blair back to the way they way treated each other in the earlier seasons, essentially undoing all their character development. In my heart, I'll always be for DAIR!

When I was a teen, I thought that Chuck was such a charming bad boy. But as I grew older, he started to irritate me. I'd prefer Dan over Chuck any day and Dan and Blair are perfect together and so are Nate and Serena. What a heartfelt video 😍😍😍

i'm rewatching gg again for the forth time with my friend, and we both agree dan is the most sensible character, ppl say hate him bc he thinks he is superior for not being a rich kid, but the hole series he only points the truth about them and this doesn't make him be a saint either, but ppl don't like other character sayng bad thing about the character they love, that's why everyone loves chuck, bc they don't even bother with the horrible things he did bc he's the cool bad boy with a soft spot for blair

Chuck was such a toxic man, predator. Blair was basically abused by him on so many levels so many times. Dan was exact opossite. Serena was great for Dan but too much out of touch, just a dream and in reality she wasnt what he wanted. Dan and Blair were perfect together in the unperfect kind of way. They yelled and fighted but they always were there for each other. These two should be endgame but I guess that toxic relationships sell more

Dan from gossip girl is introduced as a social outcast/judgemental/literature nerd / freak it is shown that Serena was his dream girl and when they both started dating he made new friends and his life was never the same ( after all he became a part of the upper east side) ( see other seasons for better understanding as i dont want to give spoilers) for around 3 seasons the story of blair and chuck and Dan and serena there on and off relationship and the complications of loving someone who you cant be together with ..etc.. and the enimity of blair and dan and chuck ... but in 4th season we get to witness the forming of a beautiful/healthy/platonic friendship formed on the basis of mutual trust/high understanding and common intrests( which is something very rare in a show like gossip girl) and that friendship is of Dan and Blair which is very shocking because in the first three seasons they couldnt stand each other and i personally never thought that these two becoming friends would be my favourite thing on gossip girl it was so refreshing to see them together as they both brought out the best in each other Dan saw the side of Blair no one else could see and Blair helped Dan get out of his writing slump and helped him realise that everything he was looking for in a girl it was not serena it was blair all along afterall Dan always loved Blair more than any of his former love intrests .. and the slow burn romance and tension between them was something to look forward to sure chuck and blair were the "Power couple" and were invincible but seeing blair and dan together did nothing except make my heart happy they were the end game and it broke my heart when i got to know that ( most viewers) failed to see the beauty of them and it got even worse when writers ended up destroying there charachter development and made serena and dan the end game instead of dan and Blair ... and i mean i would have just swallowed up my pain and ignore that they didnt end up together but there friendship ended too which was a lot to take ... Blair and Dan potrayed what a real relationship should like sure it was not perfect but the imperfectness made it even better XOXO Gossip girl

Let’s be real here, they deserved to be end game, and if this was irl they probably would be. They are the healthiest and honestly cutest couple on the whole show. I blame the writers for forcing chuck and Blair- and derena is just trash- no other word for it 😭 I think that Serena might’ve been good with Nate, but still definitely not Dan

The ending of Gossip Girl was a disappointment. Serena should clearly ended up with Nate, he really loves her, more than Dan. This whole thing just makes me feel sorry for Serena and Nate. Deep down I knew that the writers were going to shove it down our throats an Dan and Serena happy ending but it’s not right. I can see Nate’s sad face at Serena and Dan’s wedding. I think that was an Chace Crawford exclusive thinking as Nate: “it could be me.” I prefer Dan with Blair than with Serena. Such an iconic show with a terrible ending.
