Beautiful, simply beautiful! The sound and low RPM's of that Model A engine can not be duplicated by a regular aircraft engine. As a restorer of 5 Model A Ford's, I wonder if that engine has the typical oil leaks from the babbit bearings on the crankshaft and connecting rods.
I am curious about the purpose of the smaller hose coming from the front of the head that joins with the rear mounted coolant hose. Do most Model A installations have this hose? Not to be confused with a Model T installation. We have a Model A powered Sky Scout we are trying to get into the air. (note the sky scout was intended to have a T engine but ours has an A like an air camper.
Dan, nice video, you did a great job. I fly an Aeronca, looked at the Corbins, cause I like the side by side, but, it's too cramped for 2, so back to the Piet idea. Now, I'm told the Ford might be under powered for 2 guys, my brother and I, 170, and 190. Also told the Corvair, although 100 horse, its heavy, and you're better off with the simple 65 horse Cont., or bigger if ya can find one. What's you thought? firefighter tim andrew
