I would try it. You are not really living if you don't take risks and have fun. Of course you probably ain't gonna be living if you crash that thing but it is still worth the risk if you are having fun, lol.
@Maxim Ghost that was badass seriously. You know when you research these cars well-to-do people have been buying shitloads and shitloads of these things and putting them in storage the thought is that they are going to get automated and this is going to increase the value exponentially. If anybody is going to pull this off it's probably going to be our guy musk. That was funny plaid mode)
That thing is truly amazing ,the control the speed the stability is just amazing ! It is quite a machine you’ve built great video and hope you have lots of fun with it!👍🏼🤩
I couldn't agree more. I was skeptical at the start, but when you begin to maneuver and lift off, I was excited. And this looks like a whole lot of fun
What is he actually doing in terms of usefulness? Flying around over a lake senselessly, wasting fossil fuels and destroying the climate - you call that a happy retirement?
Yes of course: The air he is polluting is also my air and the air of many others. He causes others to get poisoned just for his fun. And the fuel he is wasting could be used for something more meaningful, so just for his fun he causes e.g. hospitals to run out of fuel a bit earlier, which could be a decision between life and death. But you could have thought about that quite easily yourself, couldn't you?
Rotary wing aircraft have been around for about 100 years now - and this is a very cool one! My question: why in the world would anyone give a video like this "thumbs down"? This is great!
Very impressive JP. The stable flight displayed in this video is proof of the brilliance of your design and quality of the build. I was most impressed with how water can splash over the tips of the pontoons and down the channels without negative effect. You are obviously an experienced trike or wing guy. I can see it in your technique. Safe flying.
I have to tell you, i don’t know tbat my mouth has ever unironically dropped lower than when you lifted off. Absolutely amazing engineering, and one hell of an inspirational video
Excellent flying. This Gyro is insane and very cool. Its amazing how it gets those pontoons up in the air. Unique piece of engineering and craftsmanship...
First one I've ever seen with a "Bar" for control, like a "hang glider" type. I was under the assumption that they all had a stick and rudder pedals. Really cool on those floats as well.
I can't imagine how hard your heart must have been pounding on the first voyage after it was finally finished. Nice job! Very cool. #Ithinkimightneedoneofthose
wow..trike / hang glider control bar.. overhead pullstart..strong prerotator...nice floats let go of the surface cleanly ...landing / taxiing nicely... what's not to like !
OUTSTANDING! Excitement matched only by tenacity and no shortage of balls! Fantastic spectacle and I am sure an amazing experience. thanks for sharing.
Stunned!!! I was surprised at once by 2 things: for the first time I saw a hydro gyroplane and a delta-controlled gyroplane. Cool!
i would like to see more of these to the everyday person, probably the best for someone who doesn't have experience flying since there's no stall speed and you pretty much have solid parachute on your head everytime
@@michaelbigelow3255 well he can't land on land, only water. If you couldn't do an emergency landing over an area you don't have to fly over, why fly over it? He did technically go over land a few times. Also, he was a few hundred feet above the water. You really think he'd survive that if he crashed? Not likely. That's like hitting cement.
@@summerbrooke8962 Can’t see any reason why he couldn’t land on land. Those autogyros can land similar to a helicopter. Now seeing where it does not have wheels, he may have a problem taking off from land!
No shit.... Finally after all these years i see something on RU-vid thats actually fun to watch and educational. Its not some kid farting on a cop and getting 3 million views. Im very impressed. Keep em coming!
Sadly enough, theres many of them to chooses from. I saw a kid the counted from 1 to 100,000, in front of camera. In 2 days he had close to 50M views. Another insulted the entire population of japan... 138 Million views. Bit yet theres avionics engineers and actual Rocket scientist and thermo-nuclear physicists putting out very fun, educational professionaly edited and produced. Rocket taking off with 20 cameras on it and going thru the vaccume of space. What do the kids do? They say it never happened and call it conspiracy crazy.
Videos just like this. I was an avid R/C Airplane builder when i was in my 20's. There really were not any prebuilt planes back then. We used to get old closet doors and plans then sit in the garage for 6 months and build what we thought would fly. This man is a genious. He went outside the box and combined air boating, airplane flying, hang gliding and helicopter piloting and made them all happen at once. He looks happy as can be and proud of his accomplishments. Im 50 years old in washington state and dont ceel as though i have accomplished much in life. I would love to do something like him. I made dash panels for cessnas for awhile in california in the 80s until the owner got drunk, burned down the buisness with his self inside. I have PTSD and depression. Sometimes a simple video or seeing the smile on a persons face that has accomplished and enormous feat can make me smile and for that small space in time, im a happy guy.
This is the dream and you all know it. A cheap gyrocopter which can land anywhere, is compact enough to be transported in a small trailer and housed in a small garage. This is it. This is the flying car we have all been dreaming about. Looks quite different but still the same thing.
The owner of the house this guy keeps buzzing once upon a time tells his wife, “I found our dream home! It’s on a beautiful serene lake. We’ll retire in beautiful peace and quiet and live happily ever after.”
Yeah, as well as annoy the fishermen when he decided to do low level fly-bys and even a few touch-and-go at what appears to be a mere 30 yards from them. Ya got an entire lake and you plop down at a guys fishing spot. The same guy will be mad when the neighbors file complaints. I give you a thumbs down sir, for being an irresponsible pilot
miked815 ..no. There’s neighbors, guarantee it. Those rich waters.. you don’t think some people are going to set up shop around there? Neighbor: “Dammit! There’s Larry again with his loud-ass boat helicopter thing!!”
I would love being his neighbor. I had a gyrocopter with wheels. I took off without enough rotor speed. The blades started flapping and down it came. Surgery, 3 week hospital stay and 3 months physical therapy.
One of the coolest videos I have ever seen. Great job on the construction and flying. I am also a gyro, trike, hang glider, paraglider pilot and this looks pretty awesome. I want one. I have about 300 videos on "The Tube" so if you get a chance...
Flying over water in gum boots, and without a self inflating life vest seems to be temping fate. May you never flip that thing. Awesome little machine, I must say.
I would point out that the wobblies' weight is compensated by the diminutive brain mass..... except I'd take that machine up at the first opportunity. Love the ground-effect touch-and-go "strafing" runs.
Look up the ramphos amphibious aircraft its basically a power glider attached to a 15ft kayak with electronically retractable landing gear for landing on the ground or water and they start at $5600 u.s currency
DEAR SANTA!!! I've been a Really Good boy this year! Please bring me one of these with a few hundred gallons of gas. If it's too expensive just take my old sister in trade, she's really short and she'd make a good elf. Thanks Santa!!!
wonderful, congratulations, my name is haylson, i'm from brazil, i love these types of hobies, i love flying, i don't have the financial conditions for that. My question is how much does one cost, and what is it called, it is a dream I have, I live in greater São Paulo Brazil, I am 65 years old, thank you for your beautiful and wonderful flight.
When the boing 737 747 . Airbus when they travel through clouds they literally shatters. I really admire your innovation infact I wanted to build one like this from a decade
That is a quite a contraption. The sound it was making before you took off for the first time was unnerving. Kudos to you! Very cool and you have a pair of brass ones!
Interesting design!!!! It looks like it moves pretty good too!!! That engine has no problem getting the rotor spinning and then speeding it up skimming, then breaking free of the water... No apparent problem landing either....
Not our AirForces... dat guy be our CoastGuard/Inland Fisheries/Forest Fire Observer !! Note the RED Helmet. RCMP use BLUE when they sign the "SHARED RIDE" COSTS.
Our "Dear Leader" Justin Trudeau has cancelled the acquisition of F-35s in favour of a cheaper option. Perhaps he will be eyeing this design as a suitable replacement outfitted with stinger missiles.
Brilliant engineering job! I’m curious about the pontoons. They appear to be aluminum. Is there any reason a pair of off-the-shelf Roto-moulded Kayaks couldn’t be used?
I am not sure about that, but my bet is on the weight. An average kayak's weight is around 30kg, so two kayaks would be around 60kg at least! I think the overall weight of these gondolas made by thin aluminium sheets is much less than 60kg.
Great Build,...and its more than obvious that you diffidently know what your doing. Thanks for sharing. Some people can't seem to simply appreciate what you are showing all of Us😎☕️👀🤓👍
Amigo, tudo bem? Obrigado!
