Eh, no, no, no, Dan's a total joke, but he is an innovator of the fighting style. Sakura pretty much has her own take of the Ansatsuken, some of it from Dan, so I really wanna see if there's anyone who mastered the Saikyo to a degree where he can as efficient as Ryu and Ken combined.
You know the funny thing about dan's background is that people were going to his school, getting better than him, and leaving. So there might be someone who can pose somewhat of a challenge. But give credit where it's due, he was teaching people how to create fireballs.
Back in the day if ANYONE BEAT YOU WITH DAN they were not taking you seriously. I have seen real fights break out over streetfighter and Dan has been the cause of a few of them.
some of those fights were with friends taunting and teasing each other after a few days they were all talking again and ready for rematches. It was weird how streetfighter tore people apart and brought them back together. lol Am talking big men here getting offended also
Those supers, not counting the taunts of course, actually look kind of effective. They do take good chunks out of the health bars. Maybe we should give Dan a sliver of credit there. Also ORA ORA ORA ORA!
Dance legendary taunt from what I was told kills him if he manages to complete it. Also it looks like on a lot of these versions when he tries to pull off the Raging demon it does just as much damage to him as it does to the opponent if not slightly more
PSA Do not sleep on Dan Hibiki In damn near any fighting game. He is a awesome joke character but he can also be a threat in the right hands. Alpha 3, MSHvSF And SF4 are perfect examples.
I mean if dan has become more serious and dedicated his training more he can become a stronger and deadlier opponent towards other characters even going toe to toe against ryu or even ken. I mean his a cool dude, and his fighting stance in SF 5 is much more compatible and normal than the previous one. Without his ego and arrogant personality he might be a smartest fighter in the roster and gain a little students of his own maybe 7 or 8 would be precise.
Funny how even if Dan is a joke character, in the right hands, he can be pretty formidable, especially his Street Fighter IV incarnation. It's just about HOW the character plays too, and even for a goofball, Dan does have talent, even if he isn't up there with the likes of Ryu and Ken.
It's kinda irritating how Dan started out as someone who was a skilled martial artist, but not quite up to the superhuman standard of the other characters, to an incompetent buffoon who appears to be out of shape and can barely pull off even basic moves like throws.
The throw thing actually makes sense. He incorporated Muay Thai into his father's fighting style saikyo. They're incompatible and he doesn't have much formal training. An over the shoulder throw is a matter of technique.
@@dwayneadamsii4602 Plus i think he didn't get much training at all, he doesn't use whatever his dad's style was so maybe he wasn't trained in it, he went to learn under Gouken but Gouken quickly stopped, not because he had no talent as i think the Udon Comics said, but because Gouken figured out he was learning the style for revenge against Sagat and he refused to teach someone who had bad motives. Dan presumably only trained with Gouken long enough to learn about the theory behind Ki control and the Shoryuken and then just made a style by himself combining Muay Thai elements and Ansatsuken, but he does not seem to have been trained in any Muay Thai either. Funnily enough, i recall one manga implying that Dan is actually suprisingly knowledgeable about martial arts and biology, being able to pick up weaknesses in other fighter's styles and even being capable of picking up problems or injuries they may carry without others noticing, in one Street Fighter tournament, the manga even stated he was the only one that noticed Ken being injured in the torso when no one else, not even Ken's best friend, Ryu, noticed it at all, and the implication was that Dan read and saw a lot about martial arts and learned from that, he has the knowledge, he just can't use it and seems to have some mental block when desigining a fighting style that actually works. I kinda like the idea that Dan knows a lot about martial arts and the human body, but just can't translate that knowledge into practice or his fighting style and thus he comes off as an idiot. Heck, in one manga detailing Sakura's story before Street Fighter Alpha, detailing things like her meeting Karin and Dan, it's revealed that Dan of all people actually taught her how to do the Hadouken and some other moves because she asked...but i guess this is not canon, otherwise Sakura's attitude to disregard Dan's advice comes across as a bit weird when he freaking taught her how to do a Hadoken when it's not even a move of his style and it's implied Goulen didn't even teach Dan the move, he just figured it out by himself and decided the move wasn't needed(hence him having good knowledge but having some weird mental block theory) for the Saikyo Style.
I want Dan for Street Fighter 6 Season 2, along with Sakura. With Street Fighter 6's Season 1 a hit so far, it's inevitable that a Season 2 will come. And the best two fighters to be grand marshals are Sakura and Dan!!!
LOL
