People are giving Stephen A Smith too much credit. He promised a beatdown that never came. All he did was say how mad he was at Whitlock, and that Whitlock is disliked by others. We already knew that. Thought he was gonna drop some facts, or at least defend against the accusations, but he did neither.

Im not a Whitlock fan, I only watched his show to see what this was about. My take is SAS did himself a disservice, because he proved Whitlocks point. All Stephen A did was call him names and attack him as a man. Whitlocks video was calling out many inaccuracies in SAS book with thorough research and evidence to back up each claim. SAS just called him names...

But he didnt address ANY of what Whitlock said about his college playing days. Maybe i missed it, but who confirmed ANY of what SAS said about his College Basketball career? 17 3 pointers in a row in a game is almost DOUBLE the NBA record, the NCAA record is 10. Realize that if you actually watched yesterday's rebuttal by Whitlock on Fearless (and I did watch SAS 50+ minute in its entirety)..... well lemme say this... One person screaming grade school level talking about receipts. The other calmly read the actual receipt (email) live and systematically broke down every point attempted to be made. Who are you more likely to believe? Kudos to Lebetard for referring more than once about Whitlock being a journalist. You have to ask your pastor for forgiveness for what he is about to witness? You mean like all the frauds that go to their church and behave in a manner opposite of what is being preached and taught. SAS needs a pass to let his own personal devil out. Growing up in KC, that period when we had both Whitlock and Posnanski. I was as big of a journalism fan as I was a sports fan, so it was just this perfect time. Whitlock mentioning Mike Royko just solidified my respect for him. So when KC finally got a sports talk radio station, I was pretty excited for Whitlock's show. I tried a couple of times, but it was such a toxic horrible mess, that I just noped out after giving it too many chances. And nothing I've seen of Whitlock live ever since has changed that opinion. He was still good in the paper, but I just avoided his other ventures. Eventually, I just had to stop reading him, too, because his radio and TV persona was creating a writer that no longer thought he needed an editior. Honestly, living in St. Louis now, we went through a similar deal with Bernie Miklasz. His radio stuff wasn't so bad, but it made him believe he didn't need the paper anymore. Sure enough, his blog "columns" turned into a bunch of stupid rants that never added up. After leaving the paper, even his radio stuff got worse, where he spent hours arguing with imaginary dumb people, doing the worst strawman argument bits I've ever heard in sports. All of that has made me really respect those who can go on their own effectively all that more.

That’s not true. D2 schools do give scholarships, they just have less to give. But D2 basketball programs get 11-12 scholarships for men and for women. So it’s very possible SAS could have gotten a scholarship for basketball.

Ahh, SAS did defend himself about Whitlock's accusations. I'm honestly questioning what a few of you guys are talking about? 1. Whitlock stated that SAS was never on Scholarship. Why would SAS lie about this? This is public record; essentially just look at a yearbook from the school and I see him in a WSSU jersey as a member of the team. 2. SAS is a plant who can't write. If this was the case, especially the 'can't write part,' why is Whitlock asking him to be part of the Undefeated writing team (as indicated by the article written by Deadspin)? Why in said attempt at this, Whitlock sending SAS an lengthy email apologizing to SAS? It tells me that Whitlock has sour grapes towards SAS. It's clear and it's lame. Whitlock has ALWAYS been messy and comes off looking hella jealous (see his Deion critique where he's asking Brett Favre's opinion on him, or his 'threat' towards Shannon Sharpe when he left Undisputed). He's a true race-baiter. He's been that for over 20 years it seems.

I'm from KC back when Whitlock was a columnist, and later a radio host. He literally burned every single bridge at every single media company. In every case, it was on him. He fueded with a lot of local media people. About 15 years ago, Whitlock and Nick Wright got into it on KC radio. TL;DR: Jason Whitlock was a legendary asshat well before this.

He has some undiagnosed/untreated mental health and emotional issues, sorry to say. I always liked him as a writer, but his talent proved not to be a reason to excuse his behavior at every stop he's been. He's not really known for one particular job -- because he couldn't keep one, he's just known for being Jason Whitlock and burning bridges. 🤷

The guy wrote something about a memoir calling into question some of the things that were written in It. While also asking if anyone have knowledge of said events please email him about them. In retort we get a name calling and blasting of Jason by SAS. Not picking any sides but why not come out and just answer what was said then mic drop or just ignore it. Of course Jason had his response and again is was almost point to point, with emails and taking ownership of things that he had done wrong. Seems to me this is something to get viewership for all. If people know to ignore SAS on serious subjects, then the character he plays is sometimes entertaining. And his podcast is good when SAS speaks at room levels. Whitlock challenged his aspirations to be a spokesperson for real topics. And that's a fair challenge because SAS doesn't hold up there.
