Shannon Sharpe appeared on Stephen A. Smith's podcast and discussed his relationship with Skip Bayless and his departure from Undisputed. Twitter: / clashersports Instagram: / clashersports #shannonsharpe #skipbayless #stephenasmith
I knew for a long time that this was going to eventually happen, because sharps reactions are lightning fast and skip could not hang with you. So I knew that eventually Skip was going to blow up because he felt like he was getting manhandled. But it’s just because sharp is better at the job than skip is.
@@SuperOmnicronsj44 Wise, observant souls know! Stephen A Smith AND Shannon are thinking, “same thing SAS did to Max Kellerman!” Despite the 2018 through 2019 awesomeness. Max says absurd things, and is mostly a boxing expert. But SAS is mostly just entertainment himself. As is Shannon outside of NFL insight
Most people aren’t loyal at all, that’s what makes sense so great. For the people who do care to do right by those who have helped them, this quote is phenomenal. I have seen countless times many people don’t show loyalty, because they believe in their mind it was owed to them in the first place.
I don’t care about anything but one thing, respect! Everyone that is a real human being 😂 deserves respect, I don’t care about personality, color, and any of the differences we all have, but if you disrespect me and my difference, that’s where I draw the line with you and deal with you accordingly. So to me disrespect is disregard for what or who is different from a consensus or standard, which I care nothing about status quo’s! No one’s fingerprint is the same for example, we all bare some unique differences, respect it and keep it moving.
Well the whole thing about loyalty is that you’re kind of a slave to it.. otherwise the meaning simply breaks down. But I think it’s more of a philosophical debate as to whether you want to be loyal to a person or idea or not.
Wrong! I stop watching cause of Shannon. Happy Skip finally stood up to Shannon BS. The reason I started watching it again. Happy he's gone from the show. Besides that though Shannon was a good football player and his show Club Shay Shay sounds like the name for a gay mans bar.
@@minioreo4958 Goofy comment. Elway had pedestrian numbers in most of his Superbowl performances, does it mean he's a bum too? Literally got all of the information in the palm of your hand and still choose to be ignorant.
Stephen a was just as bad in his own way. He degraded max constantly and clowned him when he had guests on like Marcus spears and Perkins and even allen iverson when he tried to embarrass him for using hip hop references. Honestly I don’t blame Stephen a for the changes but it’s hilarious that he acts like max did nothing. The run they had from 2018-2019 was the best sports debate show I’ve ever seen, better than skip and Shannon or skip and SAS that phase was amazing
This is exactly what I’ve been thinking. Yeah Stephen A wasn’t as direct and “all at once” with the disrespect but overall he disrespected Max just as much and openly admitted to wanting him gone.
He is also a very disturbed individual. When you get kicked off show after show there is a common denominator. You keep worshiping other people because of their monetary success and see how far that gets you.
That would’ve been too easy for Shannon to decide to “resolve” the ongoing verbal battles and “power struggles” on “Undisputed” by getting physical with Skip, a guy he outweighs by about 50 pounds (I would guess) with all of that 50 pounds being dense muscle. Shannon knew nothing good would’ve come from putting his hands on Skip. Although, like u mentioned, it would’ve been hard to blame Shannon for, say . . . grabbing Skip by his lapels, given how Skip took shots at Shannon constantly.
Just because someone helps you career-wise doesn't mean they value or respect you. Shannon had to learn that the hard way. He needs to watch his back at ESPN. Stephen A. could also turn on him if Shannon's star shines brighter than his. Ask Max Kellerman.
@Anthony-zg4ep that won't happen. Shannon's light will eventually be bright enough to where he's the equal to Stephen A. If it shines brighter, Stephen A. will use some sort of excuse to get Shannon out of there. Money, power, ego and insecurity is a dangerous mix.
Shannon is a boss. Straight up. The man understands work ethic. He will succeed in anything he does because he is a tireless worker. The man was not even suppose to make a NFL ROSTER . And he is the man who changed the tight end position.
He is just like Mickey Rourke, he is gay as hell and works for the Matrix. They're trying to feminize the masculine and masculinize the feminine. It's easy to like Shannon, but he is gay AF and just another rich ass mf that goes along with the powers that be. And SAS needs someone to knock his ass right in that loud mouth he has
Here's something I noticed that not a lot of people talk about: Skip is old and losing a step! He looks so tired, and when you're worn down you get mean, defensive, etc. I think he'll milk it for as long as he can, but his flame is burning low. Things are probably about to get real weird (I mean weirder) with Skip as we watch his downhill slide into retirement. "Say goodnight to the bad guy."
💯 I've Shannon grow throughout the 6 years of the show and Shannon started to consistently get the better of skip in the debates. Furthermore Shannon began to make skip look real foolish in regards to his arguments and I believe Skip's ego couldn't take it. He was being beaten at his own game, and the ratings started to favor Shannon as the star of the show. And like any great person in their field your ego starts to take a shot and jealousy starts to develop.
Let's call it what it is... Skip couldn't compete with Sharpe when it came to debating sports and Skip couldn't handle it... I think he was jealous of him🤷🏾♂️
I’m sorry but Shannon made the show unwatchable.. it’s 10x better with Keyshawn, he can actually have a discussion and not just yell the whole time.. first take is so terrible these days.
Mr sharpe paid his dues and earned the right to have an opinion. What did skip ever do? Did he even play jr high ball? Shannon love u bro. Keep doing your thing
The numbers don’t lie…we all tuned in because Shannon is an ultra charismatic personality combined with firsthand professional athletic experience . Now the show is tanking without him, go figure
Shannon is such a stand-up dude. He owns that Skip took shots and Shannon let it go.. Although he can't control Skip.. He owns it anyway.. Great lesson in that.
The lesson learned from this is even in a romantic relationship. Don't let things slide and establish boundaries and put a stop or limit to disrespect because it escalates slowly and slowly into something more harmful.
To 305jabba OMG!!!😄 LMFAO🤣 to your text... beautifully said, spot on, my kind of character. If I were Shay Shay Shannon Sharpe (which he took so much from Skippy boy) I would have worked Skippy boy to the point where he skip on out of town faster than a heartbeat.
Shannon was starting to over shadow skip and I believe Shannon was the fan favorite and skip knew this , that was the best co host skip will ever have , skip don’t even look the same now 🤦♂️
I used to like the heated arguments on undisputed. Too bad, I guess they did take it too far. But skip did push his buttons a lot of the time. But I love Shannon sharpe one of my favorite players of the game. He exited the show in a very professional way. He's a real humble man. I love you Shannon.
The Brady dispute wasn’t the first time Skip crossed the line. I don’t know why the other moments didn’t go viral. Jenny deciding to leave was a Major Milestone as well. Shannon wanted to reconcile with Skip and Skip was making moves against him. Shannon said the Damar Hamlin situation reminded him of his brother’s injury and he needed a mental health day. It was more than just a disagreement with Skip’s tweet.
The problem with this situation and in Shannon's own words, is that he did not stand up for himself. Skip, at least in this point in his career, is a performance artist. Skip isn't there to coddle Shannon's feelings, and this is the world that Shannon is now in. Now, not to say that obviously Shannon shouldn't be considered, but if Shannon doesn't speak up for himself (Due to lack of experience, or fear, or whatever else) Skip's going to keep pressing because that's in his nature, that's how his show has always been, that's how he's always been. See, the difference between Stephen A. Smith and Shannon, is that Shannon's an emotional person. Stephen A. Smith has been in the business, he understands how it works, he understands what goes on, and he understands the emotions required to deal with it. Shannon clearly wasn't there at that point. And you can hear it in Shannon's voice. Skip is probably the type of person that does his work, and then washes it off and goes home and lives a normal life, however there are also people like Shannon who take those things to heart, and can't let go of them.
@@uchihamadara3106shi watch what u say ion agree with Shannon being emotional but what mfs need to learn is your words can get u fcked up no matter who u is 😂
Management didn't and won't do anything because Skip gets ratings with his garbage-filled mouth and attitude. Money outweighs morals and morale.. unfortunately.
@@JAHzJaJaYeah lmao I can't imagine if so many people comitting such levels of grammatical heresy actually speak like that and think it's right lol. Not even a grammar nazi, "could of" is insane😂
Shannon Sharpe is a class act!! Skip went to far and disrespectful. i am so glad that Shannon has moved on and will be HUGE as a sports analist. Do your thing Shannon Sharpe!!!
I don’t blame Shannon for leaving undisputed there was tensions obviously rising between him and Bayless! Smart to walk away and deteriorate the situation
If someone does something for you and has to keep reminding you of it, then have they really done it for you, or was it done just to make them look good?🤔🤔🤔
Or they did it with the intention of keeping you in line especially if they know youre a kind hearted or gullible person who wouldn't even question them because of "what they done for them" Know that from experience. In the moment you realize what's going on, it's a damn bombshell for sure.
I love Shannon Sharp. He is real. His perspective holds a different sort of value. Not only was he a player, he still looks like he could suit up and play the game at a high level.
Listen to what Shannon said about how skip made him feel and the hurt he had , Thats exactly what SAS did to max, It all comes full circle for Stephen a .
MAW, MAX IS/WAS A MOTORMOUF, HE WOULD YAP YAP YAP YAP YAP YAP YAP YAP ALL OVER THE PLACE AND DIDN'T STAY ON TOPIC....NERVE WRACKING MAHUBBARD THE WORST 🙄
Stephen A is a hypocrite with what he did to Max K and he has the audacity to milk his hypocrisy. If their ratings are high, why do they keep coming back to this issue?
At least Max took it like a man and moved on. Shannon is on a hurt tour and being the victim. Can't keep Skip's name out his mouth even though he was disrespectful many times as well.
Good lookin on this vid. Cause I didn’t know all the facts behind Shannon leaving. This is deep. Wishing success for both parties. But Shannon is my guy
I respect Shannon’s humility and honesty. I love watching him even when I disagree with a lot of his opinions on LeBron, Brady, etc. He’s been killing it. But Stephen A has no right to act “holier than thou.” He clowned and disrespected Max on air for years. Sure maybe it wasn’t as direct and immediate but it was a similar level of disrespect overall. Stephen A openly admits he wanted Max off the show and told the higher ups “it’s him it me.” I would not be shocked if Stephen A starts screaming over him the second he gets more shine than him.
This isn't about SAS...SB was close to finding out, you just can't keep disrespecting people. This situation is exactly why you have to nip it in the bud,or they will continue pushing their limits.
The new sports media culture thrives on outta pocket, personal comments, disrespectful behavior during debate’s & personal attacks when someone doesn’t agree or drops a valid point. Egos, popularity & money are a MF ✌🏾
Their issues really started w the Kyrie tweet debate. Skip was extra venomous wanting kyrie out of the league for offending the Yahudi. But wouldn't take his tweet down about Hamlin.
I'm a chiefs fan for decades I had season tickets and the business I was in required weekend work. If I could only make 1 game a year it was the Denver game. Sharp would bring his A plus game against the chiefs at Arrowhead and doing the chop at chiefs fans and just driving the game to sometimes madness. Dude is a competitor.
Only wrong move Shannon made in all this is he decided to team up with SAS who will eventually do the same thing Skip did. It’ll happen, mark my words. The more and more Shannon’s popularity increases the mor SAS will start to push Shannon’s buttons like he did to Max. It’ll end too, probably take several years. SAS believe first take is his show and only his and will not allow anyone to be more popular on the show.
@@steeringwheelholder2670 yeah but the point is not about the show. It’s that people part ways because they are bitter with each other. All Shannon did was press the reset button by leaving Skip and joining SAS.
Over the years, I noticed that that table (that seperated Skip and Shannon) got wider and wider. The Producers knew Shannon was gone lose it and come across that table.
I know exactly what it feels like to have someone's back and be betrayed. Always guarded against it, was caught off guard when that person was black like me.
Skip Bayless has made a career out of being an instigator, he loves being controversial, because that makes people tune in to view the heated debate. Stephen A. Smith is the same way with his takes. This is the Jerry Springer era of Sports Talk, hopefully one day it will give way to more thoughtful discussions.
How can anyone respect a man that has lebron James bed sheets and posted it on Instagram? How can anyone respect a man that has a secret lover stylist named D PRINT
He kinda did. Go look at the actual interview. Sas asked him if he was wrong. Shannon responded something like you are a journalist and do what u do...more or less...
@@bayouboy9292 I don't think SAS tells Shannon Sharpe's business without having an understanding that Shannon was ok with that information coming out. Now did Shannon want to say it himself, no. Shannon recognizes that his being a part of Undisputed was larger than just Skip Bayless. He likely was on good terms with other people involved, and he wouldn't want it to appear that he himself made public any details that were expected to remain private. Stephen A. Smith, however, doesn't have that history with Fox Sports, and he is one of the most, if not the most, powerful men in sports journalism. The way Shannon responded by praising and legitimizing SAS's journalistic skills while saying he will neither confirm or deny tells you all you need to know.
The ratings are so bad since Sharpe left, that they’re thinking about changing the time that undisputed airs to later time in the day, like around 6pm which is after rush hour, so that more people are home and in hopes that more people will watch the show. This is all Skips fault. I have a feeling that they are going to cancel the show, or offer Sharpe a humongous deal to host his own show on their network.
It's funny cause his podcast doing 20x better than skips show lol his katt Williams podcast for over 60 million views in less than 2 weeks...skips show never passed 100k 😂
