Jeanette McCurdy really opened a can of Whup Ass on Dan and The Nickelodeon staff. I’m really proud of her. She was raised by an absolute monster, she named her memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Is Dead.” She outs the ones she can without getting sued or killed. I wouldn’t expect such bravery from someone so young and traumatized. The powers that be should close down the predator hunting ground known as Nickelodeon.
This is exactly how I felt after watching the documentary. ICarly seemed like it would've been such a fun show to work on... It hurts to know just how stark the contrast was behind the scenes.
Something to consider: Terry Crews got mocked for getting sexually assaulted and for not beating up his abuser. Had he done so, I'm willing to bet Mr. Crews would have gotten more prison time for assault and battery than Brian Peck did for sexually assaulting Drake Bell, and then blacklisted on top of that.
After hearing the bits and pieces of Quiet on the Set, Jerry Trainor (the actor of Spencer and Crazy Steve) deserves an award for being the best big brother on and off screen. He would show up on his days off and stay on set even when he didn’t have lines to make sure the child actors were in a safe environment.
@@Enigma75614Probably wasn't enough stuff happening day to day for the cops to be able to be reasonably involved. Not to mention any member of cast or crew doing anything to damage the reputation and careers of their superiors usually results in them getting blacklisted at best and killed at worst. Jerry Trainor still has himself and his loved ones to consider when he makes any decision like that, and it's difficult to fault someone for fearing for the safety of themselves and their loved ones. He fought back in a small way and that's significantly more than the majority of the people involved here did and that's commendable in its own right.
@@Enigma75614 homie diddled a kid and only got 16 months. I don't imagine, with his level of high supporters, he would have been prosecuted. It's a shitty feeling knowing something is going on but you can't say anything without risking your livelihood. There isn't a guarantee that Schneider would go to jail if he was reported, but you best believe homie that reported would be blacklisted.
It’s crazy to see an interviewer be a former employee, ask softball questions, never pushback on anything, show genuine bias throughout the interview to make him seem better, and somehow expect this to be taken seriously. If there was a real interviewer, Dan would’ve been eaten alive.
Boogie is a token, plain and simple, and was willing to be one in this interview. Noticed Boogie is not talking to anyone about this interview? Black men would NOT have been given a softball interview. He should’ve been grilled him incessantly.
I worked with children for over 15 years, and sadly one of the first things I learned is that people who work with children need to be monitored more than the children...
@@PeacefulJoint It was "the creator" of the ICarly show. There's literally only one person it could've been and the book made it very obvious the type of resources and influence he had to take legal action.
"After his release, he was hired to work on the Disney Channel teen sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. He did voiceover work for 3 episodes but was later fired after Disney Executives learned of his conviction," It doesn't seem like they looked into his background well enough during the hiring process.
That's not surprising, considering how many kiddy didlers work for Disney. Considering it's a rockspiders dream job, you'd think there'd be better background checks
Crazy fact: there's an old episode of Chris Hansen's To Catch A Predator where a pedo comes to the decoy house & he turned out to be a cameraman for Nickelodeon & this was during the early 2000s. So who knows how many other of their employees were pedos as well.
I was thinking the same thing. It was crazy how quickly they swept the 2 offenders mentioned in the doc under the rug and how 90% of the public didn't know until years later.
Yes, he was a cinematographer on _iCarly._ Who was so dumb that Hansen’s team made up a fake 13-year-old girl named “Carly” and he fell for it. It wasn’t hard to catch these guys.
The text you showed at 3:32 it actually says that Disney fired him after only three episodes of VO work once they found out about his convictions, and that he did not work on set or interact with any cast or crew members thank God.
Drake himself, in the fifth episode of Quiet on Set literally said a lot of people didn’t know about the whole thing with Bryan because it wasn’t in the news. There wasn’t a whole bunch of news articles about it. So it wouldn’t surprise me if Disney hired him because they genuinely didn’t know but they still should’ve done a background check because he was a registered sex offender
One thing that I remember the most about the documentary was Peck telling a girl he loved his job and kids like her were the reason he was willing to work for free half the week. If nothing else THIS should be another reason to pay people reasonably who work on kids shows/in schools ect. If you aren’t giving them enough financial compensation, you’re going to ONLY attract people who want to work in that environment for much more dubious reasons
Amanda Bynes named him, but nobody wanted to listen to her. It's almost as if being abused and traumatized as a child can cause (or exacerbate) mental illness and then nobody is willing to take you seriously.
What happened to her is so tragic. People act like child stars just become crazy as adults. No, the adults in the Hollywood environment harmed children who then became troubled adults.
I just saw that, and, yeah, I agree with it. Filthy Frank was usually ahead of his time. He does travel thorough different times and dimensions after all.
Ever notice what all these famous hollywood sex offender executives have in common aside from running Hollywood? Harvey Weinstein, Dan Schneider, Jeffrey Epstein, Ghlisane Maxwell, etc?
Props to Jerry Trainor for seemingly being the only rational adult on set and protecting them. The way the cast talks about him, he was like a big brother wven when the camera stopped. Actively coming between Dan and the kids
FYI, the foot logo so many talk about was only on the Nickelodeon animation studio, and even then for a set amount of years, so it is one of the most uncommon ones, as Nickelodeon has an astonishing list of logos, but I can understand why people draw parallels. There is another version of 2 feet together used on The Gymnast ID 92-96.
Yeah. I don’t doubt the claims of the doc and other victim stories, but people are bringing up irrelevant stuff as evidence that has nothing to do with anything that happened. Let’s just focus on the actual crimes and other wrongs that were done rather than these rabbit trail red string theories.
@@TyranBatten Agreed. Chasing red herrings gets legitimate problems pushed to the side and forgotten. If the claim holds up, he can also deflect blame to Nickelodeon (who should also be held liable)
The part that made me sick to my stomach was when Drake Bell described how his side of the court was basically empty while Brian Peck's side of the court was packed to the brim. Regardless of what Drake did later in life, I can't imagine how horrible that must have been.
That was the way of the business back then. They defended their own, bc most of them were also predators. That is how so many went untouched for years, the funny thing about power is its all perception. These people arent actually these all mighty powerful almost god like figures like how actors refer to them. They can be replaced in a second, and I think if more people realized that people wouldve spoke out sooner. Power is all perception, the fear people like snyder and vince mcmahon and harvey weinstein were able to instill in people with their perception of power is why they stayed in their industries so long. Its sad.
@@mechamahou8467 About 40% of children who are abused will go on to abuse others in later life, as documented by a study published in Psychological Medicine. 😢
The way Dan talks about it is like how someone talks about a problematic tweet from 10 years ago. You're not being called out because some scenes in the show didn't age well, Dan. You're being called out for being a malicious predator.
Predators are usually narcissistic. Narcissists always follow the same pattern. Lie. Double down when first exposed. Play the victim. Blame their victims.
hes a narcissist, nothing is ever his fault in his eyes nor will it be. He will always find a way to spin shit to make him look like the victim bc thats what people like him do
No way, they have money so they can't get in trouble. No one cares about kids so long as the person hurting them is loaded. The entire justice system is a joke through and through, every judge, every lawyer, every DA, every cog in that machine should be fuckin ashamed of themselves.
I’m wondering if any of the actors that wrote letters were also victims that benefited from their relationship with him and don’t want the truth of their situations coming to surface.
@@christerry1773My boyfriend is in the same line of thinking, and I’m trying to get a better understanding of it. I somewhat agree, Dan has not be accused or convicted as far as we know. Only rumors. But then why highlight him in the documentary, unless he played a big role in that environment? In this interview here he says he did not hire the writers, or the other producers that were caught and convicted of abuse but he does apologize for his behavior on set. The massages, the superiority complex, the snappy behavior. What I’m getting at is, could Dan be the scapegoat for those sicker and higher up than him? That’s what I’m starting to think.. That demon who abused Drake… his sentence was a JOKE. I think the “elites” know people want justice, and maybe us regular people will get off their tail if they look like they’re trying to correct/speak about the evil in the industry, so they throw Dan out under the bus. Not saying he is innocent at all… but I don’t think he is 💩 compared to what the higher ups above him have done. And that’s the thing, we WON’T know about what “THEY” have done. They’ll throw these small fries out constantly while they continue to hide in plain sight. Down with hollywood…. ❌
@@skylamei for sure, but I’m just saying out of this you’ve got a guy being super creepy. But it’s been nearly 30 years for a lot of them and no one has come forth…..even during metoo just seems odd. The doc focused on him cuz he’s high up the chain, plus it makes a shit ton of money. It’s great they have a voice, but to Me I saw a guy who was literally abused and he got a fraction of coverage while everyone who got their feelings hurt 30 years ago get the rest. I’m not even a fan of Dan, so I really don’t have an interest either way.
It pisses me off that Drake’s dad told his mom to keep Drake AWAY from Brian, but she legit did the exact opposite. Doesn’t that fall under as child neglect??
Personally, I don’t believe it is child neglect because Brian Peck was 100% manipulating the mom. We don’t know everything going on behind the scenes but based off the fact that he was able to manipulate drake into not keeping his dad as his manager, even though his dad was his biggest supporter and always looking out for him, that leads you to believe that Brian was very manipulative. Brian was able to create situations where drake being with him seemed like the most reasonable thing to do. Brian made himself out to be the best thing for drake and the best person to have at his side. Brian is just scum of the earth who knew what to do and how to do it to get what he wanted. Please feel free to disagree with me, I would like to know what you think.
Then the dude gets a job at Disney. I can’t even work at certaij construction sights around grown men with a felony. P3D0PH1LES run the world. Diddy gets his house raided but supposedly Epstein never did… 🤔
I can understand where you were coming from with this comment, but I have to disagree. Even though Brian was a master manipulator, Drake’s dad could see straight through Brian. Drake was easier to manipulate because he was just a kid. His Dad could see that his behavior wasn’t right. looking at the interviews of Brian touching on Leo was unsettling to me and I could see that something wasn’t okay just from that 30 second clip alone. It makes me wonder if she was ever onset at all to watch this behavior going on because if she was involved like she should have been then I think she would’ve seen for herself and understood why he saw Brian as a threat. It’s upsetting because she didn’t even have to figure it out for herself, The dad did that for her and he straight up told her not to under ANY circumstances leave Brian Peck alone with their son. As a mom when you’re told that someone is a danger to your child you should always be cautious, even if you don’t believe it. Why would you ever take that risk even if it was only, let’s say, a 1% chance of it being true? It was also mentioned, she’d let Brian Peck drive Drake to auditions, etc. because she didn’t like driving. It comes down to laziness to me and not taking her son’s safety as seriously as she should have. I’m not putting the blame on her because at the end of the day Brian Peck is 100% to blame, but she did not protect Drake and that’s a hard pill to swallow I’m sure. She has to face the fact that she failed her son and was negligent. She failed him. A lot of people failed him.
its still SO BADLY ACTED, he literally just looks like a narcicisst whos happy for the attention really. Notice how he roasts d*sney in the same minute for hiring Drake?
Honestly think that was a poor decision. The way it jumped to the crying I thought he was mocking her, like she came to him in tears and he was reenacting it. It took me a minute to realize he was actually pretending to cry
I feel bad for Drake. Seems like an alright dude. Got wrongly blamed and shamed for something people were completely blowing out of proportion without even really looking at the facts... Then gets disowned publicly by that fake Josh Peck... and then went through all of this as well. I hope he can bounce back from it all.
Not to justify whatever went down with Drake and that girl, but I can only imagine how it must have felt when the whole world turned on him over an allegation when his actual abuser who was found guilty had 41 people come to his aid.
What's even worst about Brian Peck is that apparently the people who created Zack and Cody were one of the guys who wrote him a letter during the SA trial. They knew he was a creep and didn't care.
That's right. Nobody cares. You can literally be a serial killer and no-one would care as long as you have the "correct" ideology and can promise a big paycheck to your backers.
Sad thing is that Nickelodeon knew about all of this FOR YEARS, they protected Dan they didn’t handle the situation anymore and they cut ties with him to basically just cover their reputation

After hearing about these things; you suddenly understand why there was so much rampant drug abuse with these children. And you gotta wonder…What if the producers were the ones who got them hooked?
some of the actors , i know notably Avan Jogia (Beck) and i think Jennette had said that they were being pressured to drink and do drugs and party all the time. Avan had said he doesn’t remember a lot of being on the show because he was constantly hungover or wasted.
That’s what happened in Old Hollywood to actors like Judy Garland, they put her on drugs so she could perform longer, cigarettes so she wouldn’t eat, and sleep drugs so she could get a few hours of rest each night.
They were. You have a 13 year old child with no life, no real friends, and reduced parental influence because they are essentially under the control of somebody in a position of power who would benefit from this child being compliant and dependant. Who would you think gave them the drugs?
that... actually, legitimately, makes me sick to my stomach. how on earth could you come to that conclusion in a situation where it is clear ONE person had all the power and control while the other was completely trapped? what the hell??
Exactly. Disgusting sick perverts!!!! Idc if a child asks you to have sex 1000 times and you’re adult. You better turn it down 1000 times or tell the parent. If they were willing to give Brian Peck access to children with full knowledge of what he’d done, I doubt they took any interest in protecting the kids from him. They need to do a season 2 of Quiet On The Set: Disney Channel Edition so we can find out if Brian was preying on the Zac and Cody cast.
