AMV tribute for the great Dan Terminus track Restless Destroyer. Clips used from the greatest Anime of all time Fist of the North Star. #amv #synthwave #hokutonoken #anime #positivemasculinity
Wrong, he merely presses the 7 secret pressure points in his shirt that make the fabric regenerate after a given amount of time. It is the ancient Hokuto Shinken Technique of infinite hand-me-downs!
Well there is still good stuff being put out but, it's much easier and cheaper to make now so: A. there's just more soulless crap churned out to drown the good stuff B. the artists/directors don't have to be as clever to get around technical limitations. C. The old crap stuff has been long forgotten so we only really remember the great ones. Fist of the north star is a great example of how composition can be used to get around limited animation quality. There are loads of fairly static shots but they are put together in such a way as to imply more movement than we actually see and forces the viewer to use their imagination. A bit like a comic. Imagination almost always trumps gratuitous visuals. That's why books can be so much more satisfying than films. In the early days, filmmakers had to be more creative and rely on the viewers imagination more, because the tech and the budgets just weren't there. The same problem is true of Hollywood films. It's become so easy with CGI to render almost any effect imaginable that it's become a crutch for intelligent film making. Michael Bay doesn't need to worry about interesting characters or clever shot composition, as he can just throw dollars at the VFX artists to fill the screen with explosions and twisted metal. The less you have to bleed and strive for your art, the less good it's likely to be.
It looks epic only with this 5 minutes song. When I tried to watch this anime found out it is boring like death. "AH TATATATATATA!!!" and enemy is dead. He destroyed tank this way in series #16 the only difference was three times longer "AH TATATATATATA!!!".
Thank you for the great compliment. It's my favorite part of the video as well. The moment where Raoh's eyes start glowing in sync with the beat was a happy accident. Please check out my other music videos if you'd like and let me know what you think. Thanks for watching!
The Japanese economic recession of the 90s. The budget was gone to make those kind of movies, and hasn't come back since. Digital animation has also taken its toll, as it is easier to just make it in 3D, but the results are decidedly less graceful.
I love all my commenters. Thank you guys for all the support throughout the years. I will get back to making videos soon. My creative process is extremely slow plus I work for an accounting firm and it's tax season now so it's hard to start new projects. Bear with me a little bit longer. I have a shit ton of ideas I want to work with.
Love em. Fist of north star mix well with synthwave or blood music ot whatev the name is.... please make another with cut scenes from lost paradise/ken rage 1 or 2
This is so good for working out my favorite part is 2:54 to the end. Masterpiece. The part with Raoh Squishing the Statues and then flexing is so good.
What makes this movie so powerful and unique among all anime and movies ever since made is that it embodies the true shinto idea of fate (coming from chinese alchemy, at one point which europe had as well before it became corrupt and destroyed by christianity) in the holy book of alchemy the emerald Tablet, it is written thus : THAT WHICH IS ABOVE CORRESPONDS TO THAT WHICH IS BELOW: This edict of Alchemy is embodied by the sublime story of hokuto shinken. The heroes in this divine story are connected with the universe through the fate of the stars. Each act of the humans drama is mirrored and supported by the drama in the sky. the universe is communicating with the humans. this is an allegory of what humans at one point were, connected to the divinity of the universe, and now they are nothing but a shell they worship meaningless objects and have turned to utter garbage. what the sublime shinto hero the demi-god Kenshiro is teaching us is to get back to the connection of humans with the divinity . kenshiro is a psychopomps leading the lost souls (of us humans) toward salvation and teaching us the way to true paradise. i have never seen such an alchemical masterpiece ever cretaed by man, and i am certainthat nothing like this will ever be made again.
today animes are so strange compared to the olds, the oldest animes are so badass and today is like generation snowflake XD i don't know explayne better simply isn't so amazing
I love the way this video was made. Its just Kenshiro walking and bringing punishment. My favorite manga of all time, its sad that they didnt adapted the entire series in anime.
Its soooo good and simplistic. The title restless destroyer couldn't go any better with kenshiro blowing up garbage people. The slow buildup in his rampage to the fight with Raoh is also a fantastic finish. It gets the blood pumping !
Strong triceps check, strong arms check, strong chest compiled, small head complete, ready to start beating the living fuck out of someone outside marks and Spencers
I just discovered synthwave yesterday hearing Carpenter Brut randomly on Spotify. And now this, with my favourite anime movie as a 90's kiddo. Thank you 🤙
The moral of this story is if Kenshiro is walking somewhere you should step the fuck out of the way and let the man pass unless you want to explode and turn into a puddle of blood and guts.
I was scrolling down the comments to see if anyone else liked that as much as I do. It looks like he just walks until he finds someone, kills him and then continues walking and repeat lol.
I've watched this video so many times and never got tired of it because it allways gave me a sensation of strenght and motivation to just try to face my issues and fight for a better a life. The message that came right to my mind while i watched this was "if you believe enough in yourself... if you put enough effort into yourself, one day you will be as unstoppable as Kenshiro!". P.s 1:45 when you stand up to your bully
Over 700,000 views in nine years. I'm shocked that my little video has had this number of views and I really thank each and every single one of you for keeping this video alive. Let's get this bastich to a million views! Please share this to everyone!
I've heard that movies (Tron, Blade Runner 2049, Oblivion), shows (stranger things) and video games (Hotline Miami, OTXO, Furi) tried to the synthwave Renaissance, and it worked! But my favourite works of media that use synthwave are indie edits like this, or by the 80s guy for example. It just works so well. This will reach a million views soon, and I cannot wait 👍
@@mauz791 thank you so much for that. I did these videos to teach myself video editing for fun and not really for anything else. For it to still get views after nine years makes me happy and the ten year anniversary of it's upload is coming up. The fact I stillget new comments on it on a weekly basis humbles me and I try to interact with everyone who comments. Thank you again! I do believe this video will hit a million views one day.
"a man who punched things so hard they explode" Actually Kenshiro did made much worse. He target cells in the body, give them energy and the cells will explode. He controls this energy, this is why he can count until the unlucky bad guy will die in a hell of an explode :D
In the 80s, it was mandatory to skip leg-day. Strive to build a body like an inverted triangle, dammit! Lovin' the editting and tunes, m8, twas an awesome listen/watch.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I am happy you enjoyed it. It was a blast to make. I lift 4 days a week and most people skip leg day so much hasn't changed since the 80's lol. Comments like yours is igniting my creative fire again. Keep an eye on my channel for new videos. Thanks again!
Will do, man. Hope you make more AMVs about the 80s distopian movies/anime, accopmanied by sick synthwave. Also, lol, I see you are a man of culture too. *h5s*
PouresMaggie I have a ton of ideas running in my head. I love dystopic films and I have an idea for an AMV using the Dan Terminus track Tuned to a Dead Channel.
Already was working out, and have come closer to my goal... Thank you for giving me this track and the video is superb. I've begun walking like Kenshiro now, every time I hear this song xD
Fist of the North Star is literally just "Man wanders the countryside and punches people until they explode" and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Like, Kenshiro's got a class 3 federal firearms license for them automatic machine gun fists, and HE DOES NOT PAY TAXES.
In the wasteland's barren embrace, where silence reigns supreme, A lone figure roams, like a phantom in a dream. Through the desolate expanse, his legend quietly unfurls, A solitary beacon of hope, in a world that's lost its pearls. Through the ashes of civilization, he strides with purpose bold, A solitary sentinel, in a story yet untold. His deeds are whispered rumors, in the winds that softly sigh, A testament to resilience, beneath the blood-red sky. In the crucible of chaos, he forges his noble path, A solitary warrior, against the aftermath. With courage as his compass, and determination as his guide, He charts a course through darkness, where few dare to abide. Through the veil of despair, he transcends the shadows' call, To become a legend whispered, amidst the ruins' fall. In the annals of oblivion, his story shall endure, A beacon of defiance, in a world so insecure. Though unknown to the masses, his deeds shall never fade, For in the heart of the wasteland, his legacy is laid. Through action, he becomes, a symbol of survival's might, A solitary hero, in the endless desert's sight. So let the winds of time carry forth his name, In the desolation's embrace, where echoes of his fame. For in the post-apocalyptic desert, where hope is but a spark, He stands as a reminder, that even in the dark, A single soul can rise, and defy the ravages of fate, To become a legend whispered, in the sands that patiently wait.
@Cropsykills I've written another one I hope you enjoye it In the wasteland's grasp, where shadows dance in despair, Ken, the survivor, strides with a soul laid bare. Through the desolate expanse, his footsteps leave a mark, A testament to resilience, in a world cold and stark. Amidst the wreckage of civilization, he stands alone, A solitary figure, with a spirit all his own. His deeds are whispered legends, in the winds that moan, A beacon of hope, in a land of stone. In the crucible of chaos, he forges his destiny, A warrior-poet, with a heart wild and free. With determination as his compass, and courage as his creed, He braves the depths of darkness, where others fear to tread. Through the veil of oblivion, he transcends mortal bounds, To become a legend whispered, in the silence profound. In the annals of time, his story shall endure, A symbol of resilience, steadfast and pure. Though his path may be solitary, his spirit knows no end, For in the heart of the wasteland, he finds strength to ascend. Through action, he becomes, a beacon of light, Ken, the survivor, in the endless fight. So let the echoes of his journey resound, In the desolation's embrace, where hope is found. For in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, where shadows loom, Ken, the survivor, rises from the gloom.
