I love this to an insane degree and it’s my favorite of his Christmas carols by far. What a gorgeous performance. As usual, the voice, the delivery, the range, and the arrangement, with 5 languages and a chorus of Dans, are all fabulous. It’s a great example of Dan’s incredible breath control as well. Yep. It's Christmas year round as far as I'm concerned. All of Dan's Christmas carols are awesome. Apparently, someone liked Dan enough to put this one and Dan's Amazing Grace to a spectacular outdoor lights display. If you do the search for "Dan Vasc Christmas lights display" you should find this one & the same channel has the Amazing Grace display, as well. I'll try to find the channel name myself. I recommend you try Christmas in July and check out his other Christmas songs. Adeste Fideles (O Come All Ye Faithful in Latin) has an incredible finale, O Holy Night will surprise you (Victor the Guitar Nerd in that one), plus his Handel's Messiah Hallelujah Chorus (One Man Choir) will leave your jaw dropped in amazement. First Verse: Italian Second Verse: German Third Verse: Brazilian Portuguese Fourth Verse: English Every Chorus (the "Glorias") are ALWAYS done in Latin, no matter in what language the verses are sung. SO...Dan sings this song in FIVE LANGUAGES, all told! 😀 One of my FAVORITE things about this song, is the fact that he absolutely abides by the "golden rule" for singing it. A professional singer will NEVER take a breath during ANY of the "Glorias." That's a HUGE no-no. If you can't get by without a breath, your choir director will usually put you behind someone who CAN, or if you know how to sing on an INWARD breath, you can do that, too. It's very possible that Dan might do that at some point, because he CERTAINLY can. However, from watching him closely during this song, I would say that he does NOT do that. He sings the song VERY purely, and I love it SO much! 😀 I wrote that paragraph BEFORE seeing you watch the first one be performed, and I am pretty sure, after seeing your smiles, that you KNEW all of that! AHA! With the third verse, you can hear the "choir" chime in. That's the one in his native language, and I LOVE how he layered that one. SUPREME! FANTASTIC, WONDERFUL reaction, sir!
