Dan's Father and him would listen to opera. His Father was Italian and loved opera. If you look at Dan's eyes, there is so much emotion in them. His Father passed in 2017.
You may not have noticed the tears in his eyes at the end. That is because his father was Italian and played this music for Dan from a very young age. I can imagine he was paying tribute to his Dad. It was magnificent, wasn't it? He can sing anything. Thanks for continuing to react to his music.
In fact, Daniel's father is not Italian, he is Brazilian - but he must be of Italian descent on his mother's side. In any case, it is very common among families that have some Italian blood to hear a little opera at home. Children learn to like it, just as they like paste and water with a few drops of wine. 🙂

@@elaineboone8567 Exactly. 🙂 His father is Brazilian, but descends from Italians on his mother's side of his own family. This is so real that Daniel does not have any surname of Italian origin, he only uses Iberian surnames : Daniel Vasconcelos Pereira de Andrade. Vasconcelos - Iberian - Basque - northern Portugal Pereira - Iberian - northern Portugal Andrade - Iberian - Galicia region, Spain Italian blood exists, but the original name was lost because it came from a woman (probably the father's grandmother). But what really matters is that he had contact with Opera since he was a child (introduced by his father ?) and this influenced his classical singing training - lucky for us! 🙏🏻

This song means a lot to me; since I was little girl, I saw my mother get emotional until she cried when heard this...🥹 This Area tells the tragic and powerful story of a cold princess who was afraid of love and posed a riddle to her suitors - whoever made a mistake would die. Until a "right" prince appeared - so to speak... and we can imagine that he fixed some things - but it was painful!! Daniel sings about the prince's victory, which is, in fact, the victory of love. He was only 29 years old when recorded this video, and he refined himself a lot after that. This song is made for a Tenor and he doesn't use this range naturally, Dan is a natural Baritone and sings within this lower range in a "constructed" way. Even so, he gives us an excellent "tenor" with perfect Italian consonant pronunciation, perfect cadence, perfect breathing control and even does that very difficult ending TWICE!! Why?? Because he CAN do it. Not even Pavarotti did it like that! And, of course, the emotional construction he did... I've never seen any other singer "feel" this story this way. Dan, in this song, ripped my heart out of my chest, tore it in half, folded it in on itself, and tore it again. And obviously I cried along with him at the end... 🤷🏻♀️ Ok, I'm also a Brazilian and descended from Italians and - yes!! - we have this Latin tendency towards "drama"! 🤣 Thank you very much for the beautiful song and for your reaction. Great reaction! Puccini was an Italian composer known for his Operas. Respectfully, when you mentioned Puccini being an opera singer I think you may have been thinking of Luciano Pavarotti. Dan was masterful singing this Aria as it’s an incredibly difficult Aria to sing well. Hail VascNation ❤

I was watching something last night where Dan admitted his hair is straightened. If he didn’t, it would look like Jon Snow’s hair in Game of Thrones. Pretty curly hair.
@@TerriTildon-ij4ek I think his hair is gorgeous. Metal singers for the most part have straight hair so I understand wanting to keep it straight but as much hair as he has it would take a while or does someone straighten for him?
In the past, warriors wore long hair. The Romans invented the fashion of going to war with short hair - something more practical and safer. Recently I saw a video of "new bands" where Fearless performed on a stage MANY years ago; They were all very young, almost boys. Daniel already had a tremendously powerful voice, but he wore short and messy hair. It was a time when he had not yet discovered the miraculous use of hair conditioner made from "curious people's blood". 🤣🤣🤣

But another channel I follow, the channel host loved Nightwish cover by Dan Vasc Last ride of the day and he did a video of Dan doing it with Nightwish. The video is captivating realizing how incredible Dan would be as a frontman. However listening to him on live channels I fear home is where his voice stays.
