“Boxing is all about gimmicky fights. That’s not what we do here. It’s just not what we do.” " Now let's talk about new season of POWER SLAP!"- Dana White
Serious question because I actually don’t know but do you think he will make more with the pfl then he would have made at the ufc? I’m genuinely curious idk anything about the pfl.
@user-cq5rl6dy1d 🤦🤣That's BS bro. Why you making up numbers? The UFC offer 4 fight deals not 10-15 ya clown. Francis was offered around 8 million for 1 fight against Jones
@@ekayn1606 Few years ago he was saying Jon was afraid to fight Francis. He says whatever benefits him only whenever it benefits him, same as any business man or politician. If you can read between the lines you can see there is very much bitterness in him toward Francis
Dana saying he doesn't put on gimmick fights yet signed CM Punk, brings back the BMF belt, started a whole organization based around slapping.. Dana is a great business man because hes such a liar 😂
Non of those are gimmicks lol. Pro wrestler was given a chance after talking sht for years, BMF belt is literal lol and they didn’t start a weird but gruesome league 🤙
@@mikerod9555 False, cm punk never talked shit about anything mma before he was signed outta nowhere. He definitely has a gimmick, its what got him signed in the first place. Even ufc fighters like Colby admit they use gimmicks to sell fights.
“Francis doesn’t want to take any risk” literally fought his last fight with one leg and been taking risk his whole life to be where he is now! Dana is a joke🤣
I mean Francis didn’t want to take this risk. He literally didn’t wanna risk an L, so he went to another league where he more than likely won’t fight any of their fighters so he can get paid to train for a boxing match that nobody will watch.
@@bross1802 um he was very clear why he left and it had more to do with other fighters than it did him. did you not read what he said after he left or you only go by what Dana says? also Dana bots is starting to make sense. Seems like he can do no wrong to some folks cause even blatant lies are believed.
"Francis thinks his in a position where his got some Conor Mayweather fight on his hands, which he does not" Has a quote ever aged so poorly, so fast? Francis performed better than Mcgregor 😂
It was never about the performance - nobody was in doubt that Fury would win but the fact that it was split was a shocker. Dana was right about the fact that Francis did not have a Cnor Mayweather fight since the PPV only did 70K buys. Ngannou made money but at the expense of his promoters who did not make any return on their investments.
Ngannou moving to PFL is honestly good for the MMA sport as a whole. UFC having a monopoly on MMA can cause a lot of issues and you can already see it with everyone being the same Reebok shorts, having very 'safe' entrance songs etc. Competition is what will keep the sport growing. People getting angry at Ngannou for leaving is honestly petty as hell, just let the guy do his thing!
What do you mean by safe songs? I thought the fighters picked their entrance songs and as long as the UFC can get the license to play it, they will. Is that not right?
Not really I won’t watch PFL for Shane Burgos and a girl where no one can beat because they are low level fighters lol I won’t watch PFL for Francis not many will either Francis woulda made more with ufc but he don’t fight much he was going to be highest paid heavyweight in ufc idk what else he wanted he’s not very smart managing his money either when he cry’s about money
@@lacosa24x I've enjoyed watching PFL and I think they really offer something unique in comparison to UFC, Belator, One etc. I would think that if you're into fight sports and MMA, you would enjoy it. If you just like superstars and pageantry and good fights too, then I can see you only watching UFC. I happen to really enjoy all of them and I also happen to enjoy college football over the NFL. I'm glad there are multiple options out there and the pay structure is actually pretty good in PFL. To each his own I guess.
Yes Dana, a guy who walked the desert as a child with no food, no family, no school, no money, who became UFC heavyweight champion, that guy isn't really into taking risks. Bravo Dana, that's some IQ buddy 👌😂
His struggles as a child were not risky. He was fighting for his life. He had nothing to lose. NOW, he has everything to lose. And in the HW division, champions don't stay champions for long. It's a volatile division. He wants a big payday because he knows that he won't have a Fedor like run in the UFC. It just doesn't happen. Boxing is low risk. No one expects him to even be competitive. It's a free payday. PFL is much lower risk than the UFC. His decision isn't good or bad...it just is what it is. Objectively...he took a lower risk road over fighting for legacy.
@@okene many people take that journey in west Africa. It's common. People that can pay cartels for travel and get lucky from boarder guards when reaching shore in Europe make it. Not really a dangerous journey.
@@robot9071 I'm literally west African, you say pay the cartels as if 1. They aren't just gangs that don't have to do face any consequences and 2. The kind of people that make these trips have any money... Also the odds of you getting in through guards so smoothly are slim and are getting slimmer, especially if you're not a prefered people or not from a war-torn country. Ngannou himself was detained multiple times. You should do your own research, these people cross the desert.
Just to clarify. Francis was talking about not being paid enough. Then.... Jon made demands too high so he didnt have to fight Francis. Although Francis was currently signed and agreed to fight Jon, Jon refused to sign to fight Francis. So, Francis threatened to leave, jon basically said he should and applauded him for standing up for the MMA community and fighters pay. Then, Francis actually leaves. Immediately AFTER Francis leaves, Jon comes back. AFTER 3 YEARS OF FRANCIS RUNNING SHIT. Jon Jones: "Yea he left because he didn't believe in himself. He can't beat me. He doesn't believe he can beat me". Jon and many other helped manipulate that man to do what was right and boycott the UFC, and then turned the narrative that Francis was running from him. If Jon can beat him or not is irrelevant. Thats LITERALLY what happened 🤣
Facts. These fans have a goldfish memory. Whether ngannous deal is bad or not you just spoke the facts. These people are so corny and dana is one of the biggest scumbags in all of sports. That's saying a lot
@Pet Boy it wasn't that Dana didn't want to pay it, it was that Jon asked for ridiculous money knowing it would be rejected. That's a common way for a fighter to reject a matchup without casual's realizing he's afraid of the fight.
It he is. He ain’t gonna fight fury, AJ or wilder. And he’ll bankrupt PFL with his ridiculous money per fight and his opponents million dollar purses. Ngannou isn’t a draw
@@BlackWolf-el3gu and how does he lose on that though . Francis isn’t supposed to look out for the pfl he is supposed to look out for himself and that deal he wouldn’t have gotten in the ufc so he won even if he doesn’t fight fury or aj or wilder and why can’t he they all have said they wanna fight him and now he has a company saying they will do it 😂😭like what in that says oh no that’s not gonna happen
@@BlackWolf-el3gu They are not signing just Ngannou for the draw , they are using his platform to launch even more stuff and draw more eyes to them. PFL Africa is launching with him as the Ambassador. And taking Cedric Doumbe, already a big MMA star in France , 7 time Glory Champion right under the UFC noses. Dana is butt hurt, and you will see where PFL is in 10 years. UFC is washed in terms of deals and contracts.
@@Jukeboxster Justin and Dustin are two of the baddest and most game fighters in the ufc history…. every time they fight it’s a war, for their entire careers. Can’t say that about most fighters. Most of em pick and choose, play it to safe, have more decision wins than subs or ko’s 😂
@@frjcde9392 I like both Justin and Dustin. i'm just saying the BMF belt is a gimmick. You could just have the fight without it, but adding it is a tactic to get more eyes on the product, that's what a gimmick is.
Dana saying Francis doesn't want to take risks , but rejecting the biggest UFC contract for a Heavyweight and taking a chance with Free agency seems pretty risky.
@@suhailshaikh8529 when they threw Gane at an injured Francis, Francis bet on himself and won. It hurts a promotion for a fighter to fight his last fight out and stay on top.

I remember when Jon wanted more money to face Francis and Dana said I don’t think Job really wants to face Francis after he knocked out Stipe in their second fight
Bingo my friend lol. Also don’t forget that after Francis beat Stipe Dana said Jon might want to stay at light heavy😂😂😂 this guy is so full of shit that it ain’t funny.
Yep, but do you expect anything different from the type of dude that could start a company like the UFC? He’s a smooth talking conman. He’ll get you to love him, then burn you if it benefits him.
Problem is there's too much footage of Dana, man's not allowed to change his views on things as they develop cause somebody will point out to something he said years ago
Dana: Francis doesn't want to take any risks. Francis: Chooses to leave the top promotion in the world risking his career to fight for what he believes in.
He 100% would’ve made more money in the long term with the UFC. The contract money for a fight with Bones plus PPV would’ve been more in 1 might than he will make throughout his entire PFL deal guaranteed. Nobody is going to buy a PFL card to watch Francis unless Jon switched to the PFL and that fight happened. PFL got fleeced because they are run by morons with a lot of money and Francis is getting freedom/power so good for him, but most likely less money over a longer time span.
@@bross1802 Considering Francis is a chairmen for PFL, you're very wrong. Francis reportedly has a near-8 figure contract with the PFL along with a long term job that will last after his MMA career is over. And now if Francis chooses to box, he'll probably make more money than he ever would if he had stayed in the UFC.
Ngannou is down for a UFC-PFL crosspromotion superfight. He has already asked Jones and White. As combat purists there's no reason to not have this fight now, more eyes on other MMA promotions But as businesspeople, there's prolly going to be politricks involved
"And that's one of the big problems with boxing right now. It's all about these gimmicky type fights, and that's just not what I do here." - The man that signed CM Punk
It makes sense when the guys a draw and makes everyone money. Francis is not a draw, people swing on his nuts cause of his back story and that he’s African.
You can disagree with PFL strategy all you want Dana, but raising money to buy an organization that wasn’t selling tickets is literally the story of the UFC and look how that turned out
Rofl right. Every fighter renegotiate their contract before their last fight. It’s one of ufc best tactics to lure fighters into a sht deal. When a fighters doesn’t want to renegotiate before their last either means two things- 1. They don’t want to fight in ufc 2. They believe they will win their last fight and get the best deal as they would be at peak negotiating term. Francis hit both on the way out.
Dana - "If I was Jon Jones I wouldn't wanna fight that guy (Francis) either." while implying that Jon is avoiding fighting Francis the 2 years Francis was asking to fight him. Also Dana - "If I was Francis I wouldn't wanna fight Jon either" implying that Francis is avoiding Jon by leaving the UFC because he wanted more than fancy dinners and 1 decent paycheck. He knew he could get more than that and he did and Dana doesn't like it.
😅Really? Both jon jones and Francis together committed to get greater pay for their fight from Dana.... Remember, jon jones was getting ready for Francis and Francis fight got delayed due to his leg surgery... During this time, jon agreed to fight stipe before fighting Francis as jon jones got payed nicely in his new contract... But Francis didn't agree to his contract and that's on him... Francis himself officially stated that this has nothing to do with jon jones or money... He wanted to fight Fury before jon jones... Dana refused to it.. Facts are something hard to swallow for both jon jones fans and Francis fans... Both agreed to fight each other but all the hype mma media gave to Francis fighting in boxing caught upto him... Both Francis and jon jones are ready to fight each other but Francis wants boxing too.. Good for him but stop acting like jon jones is scared of him.. He literally trained for Francis and fought gane.. Jon jones has everything to loose here against Francis who's 1-1 against stipe, had close fight with gane and still haven't avenged his shameful loss against Lewis... Francis losing against jon jones is not a big deal as jon jones losing to Francis...
I love how he says he has no idea what’s going on with Francis and then goes on to talk about it for 25 minutes and talks about how scared Francis is of all these heavy weights😂😂
"Francis doesn't want to take risk" You mean the guy that left his home, crossed the ocean on a raft, got locked up multiple times, climbed over barbed wire fences, trekked through forests and lived on the streets in order to achieve his dreams? Ok
Francis doesn’t like taking risk. He beat Cyril Gane easy with two blown knees. Dana white isn’t into “gimmick” fights. Helped promote mayweather and Connor. Sounds like someone is salty because their heavy weight champion walked away and is now making more money…
Easily? He arguably lost to Cyril Gane.....#2. He was completely opposed to Mayweather McGregor, once it became obvious the fight was going to happen and the amount of money involved, he reluctantly put his promotion behind it. He'd be stupid not to. What is your point LOL? ....#3. Doesn't sound salty at all, he was asked his opinion and he gave it - unfiltered as he always does. Francis is not a draw. Nobody cares what he does in these bum organizations. Doesn't matter if he's making more for one fight, in the long run, leaving the UFC will prove to a very dumb career/legacy/business move for him.
@rlmz00 Francis is not an active fighter like the rest he fights once a year and holds up the division and wants to be paid 10 million a fight He does not bring anything to the company if he does not fight often so there is no reason for UFC to keep him and pay him silly money and give in to his tantrums He is a good fighter but he literally would take a year off even after a 20 second KO in a fight
Connor called out mayweather and maywather responded he wants to do it big money fight and big win for Dana to be able to promote the ufc to boxing fans while Francis what’s to fight fury while fury is tweeting apple fools joke about fightin him
Dana literally said Jones should go to 185 after francis won. Jones got offered Francis since 2021. This fight didn’t happen cause DANA didn’t pay them. Now he defends Jones and yet Jones sat out due to contract negotiations 🤣
The way that Dana treated Francis was disgusting. Dana scheduled an interim heavyweight title fight because Francis asked for one additional month so he could have a full training camp to prepare for his first title defense. Meanwhile, he’s going to let Jon Jones hold the heavyweight title for nearly 2 years without defending it. The fact that Dana asked Francis to take a title defense without a full training camp is unreal. The level of disrespect he showed that guy is insane.
The truth is there is always a risk even though Jones is a firm favorite in my opinion I have seen so much in combat people losing to who they were never supposed to lose to to know that don’t take it for granted
Dana is speaking froma business standpoint and he is right. It makes absolutely no sense. Ngannou is not gonna make the money he wants to make because he thinks he's on the same level as McGregor or Adesanya.
I think dern can get to the title,I don’t know if she will get the belt but she’s definitely young enough and talented enough to do so and MAJOR props to her being a mother as well 💯🇦🇺
How is Dana hating on Aljo for not wanting to fight 3 months after a 5 round war lol. Guys like Conor have been holding their division hostage for up to 2 years and he was loving it.
Dana White has hated Also for as long as I can remember...I used to think it was because he was so wrestle heavy...but Dana licks Colby's ass every chance he gets so that can't be it...still trying to figure that one out.
The same Dana that wanted Ciryl to beat Ngannou so badly so he could offer him a bad deal coming off a loss, but the same Dana that left halfway through the figbt after he saw that Gane couldn't even phase Ngannou who was fighting with one Knee, the same Dana that thinks Francis cant get a boxing fight when its literally because so many boxers are scared to fight him, jon jones literally lost to Dom, but the same Dana that says Paddy won his fight against Gordon, when Dana doesn't like the fighter he'll bury them and agree with the terrible decision wins, when the fighter he doesn't like wins instead of loses, he throws a tantrum
No heavyweight boxer is scared to fight Francis 😂 why fight him? He’s not UFC heavyweight champ, he’s not a massive draw.. just a lose lose situation for any boxer.
What fight were you watching? Gane won rounds 1,2 and 5. Francis got a bs decision lmao. Even the commentators in round 5 were like well Francis lost this fight but hey who knows with how bad judging is
@kevin I disagree. I think despite francis not being quite the draw Dana wanted is, on top of being such a pain in the ass… I think he’s just over it at this point. 70 dinners I think he said, you know Francis basically lived at the performance institute. Idk.
we don't do gimmick fights - Powerslap - Randy Couture vs James Toney - CM Punk - BMF Title - Fight Island the entire UFC's foundation was based on gimmicks.
@@kcrs3245 Yeah, he caught lightning in a bottle with that one. I think people were genuinely curious how a boxer vs. MMA fighter would turn out. We've had enough examples by now to know that the boxer is going to win. There's not much curiosity about how Francis would stack up against Fury. He'd have a slight chance of landing a KO punch, but odds are he'd get outclassed and made to look silly.
1.The UFC never released Francis, he fought out his contract and became a free agent. 2. He barely fought over the last 3 years" 5. Dana White a while ago when asked if he would venture into female MMA ==> "I would never do it" Fantastic business man, he built something outstanding, no debating this. He's just emotional and self-centered, which is usually one of the side effects of being a go-getter. Take what he says with a grain of salt. Dana White would legally change is name to Dana Black if it made him more money.
when he was in a position that he had to take risks he took them. Now that he's got money and a name, he doesn't take risks. He doesn't want higher level fights. it's obvious what he's saying and when you look at what Francis has said and how he has acted, it shows true.
