This group, Foxes & Fossils, is probably the best cover band on the internet. As a musician, I have to say that these guys work real hard at it. Also, these girls, right from the beginning, showed talent unseen most anyplace in the world. I am sorry that I do not completely agree with you about the girls, though they are wonderful in a solo situation, even taking into consideration Dolly, Emmylou and Linda (who I love desperately) these women are just as good and they will go very far, all three.
To see Sammie at her best, watch "Nobody Love", done in 2015 when Chase joined the group. Backstory on this song is that the band had never practiced the song together. Tim said that they went over it at sound check and decided to add it to their program. When he introduces the song, Tim said "takes a lot of guts to do this one" and Sammie says "thanks, dad." To hear Maggie at her best check out "Harvest Moon." This was the first song they put out after getting back together. To hear Chase at her best just pick out any song where she sings lead. Tim thinks she has, as he put it, "the best set of pipes he's ever heard." Quite a compliment to a 22 year old!
Now, this is my favorite cover band in America and yes, I'm from Georgia as well, and these guys are just on the opposite end of the state. I'm from Brunswick on the southeast coast and they are from north Georgia up near Atlanta. They've been together since 2010 and Tim the leader of the group, thinking that their first gig might also possibly be their only gig had it recorded and video taped. Then they did other videos and posted them on RU-vid then suddenly about three or four years ago, everyone started noticing them and so even through the pandemic they continued to record sometimes from different locations and sometimes same location but with vocal and musical layering all of which they are still doing today, They literally have fans now from all over the world. They are/were an excellent live performance group and all their fans are just waiting on the day when they will once again take to the stage. I love the voices of all the young ladies as well as the voices of Tim and Darwin, but if you want to hear more Chase, the third singer on this video then you might want to hear her do the Elton John song, "Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road". The great thing about this group is that they do Rock, Pop, Country, Alternative and more from different generations and they do it all very well. Oh, Chase Truran, also has her own channel. Also Sammie and Maggie were the original Foxes and Chase didn't join until Maggie went off to college, so a lot of the early videos will not have Chase in them but they are still great, great videos. All the girls have finished college now and so all three are permanently a part of the group now. Which makes all of us fans very lucky indeed. Thank you for reacting to this amazing cover band and I for one would love for you to do more from them.
Love the band but hated your reaction. My fav is Maggie. Unless you have watched them from the beginning, you have no idea what you're talking about. Their strength lies in their harmonies. When they sing with 5 members, it's like listening to angels. If your such a big country fan, check out their versions of I'm With the Band, Little Big Town or We Run, Sugarland. Maybe go right out on a limb and review Suite Judy Blue Eyes or Carry On or Seven Bridges Road. Don't judge on one song!!!

This lady is trying to tell us she knows music when she hears it, well I want to hear her sing. How many songs has she had published? I could see just a taste of jealousy on her part.

Chase (3rd girl w/wonderful voice), and Sammie (2nd girl, High pitched nasal twang) do NOT have Lazy Eye, nor are they related. They do, however, share to habit of closing their eyes when they sing and staring at the mic directly in front of them when they open their eyes. Because the mic is so close to them, they end up looking cross-eyed. If you want to hear Maggie (the first girl) sing a song that showcases her voice, check out Harvest Moon! She is a wonderful singer! Chase kills it when she sings Love is the Answer! Check that one out, too, Carry On, and Suite Judy Blue eyes are fantastic performances from when the first got together as F & F, and the girls were just young teenagers, I think 15.
All three women have terrific voices, but different sounds, so certain songs are better for one than the other. Maggie is the sweet girl next door sound, Sammie is (as you said) more twangy (great solo on Strawberry Wine and Angel from Montgomery, but also and incredible harmony singer), and Chase, as you noted, has a voice that is out of this world, AND has a range of styles that will blow you away. Her rendition of "I Can't Make You Love Me" is sublime. And then, for a treat you won't hear anywhere else on RU-vid, listen the group sing Mr. Sandman (Sammie's sister joins the group for that) where the harmonies and tight structure will leave you with your jaw on the floor. This group really deserves several more listens because of so many great tunes and performances as soloists and as a group. Enjoy, they will (I sincerely hope) keep singing for a long time together, and the other factor that may not be as obvious is that they seem to enjoy singing and performing together, and I do not see any egos intruding into that joy, which is the death of virtually every great group.
First, learn the "girls" names.... have some respect for the performers. It's not difficult to find them out. Second, what's with the comment on the eyes? That's your first take? Third, the fossils are each fantastic in both vocal and instruments (and production) Geezzzz.... Sort of a lazy review here
Foxes and fossils has become my favorite cover band of all time, especially for the older music. I was introduced to them as many were by the very first song they ever did in public 12 years ago. Suite Judy Blue eyes by Crosby stills and Nash. Anyone that has heard this says that it is the best cover of this song they've ever heard and I agree! That would be the next great place to start. Tim is the father and Sammy with the brighter blonde hair is his daughter. Everyone else is friends of theirs.
When the Trio recorded this song, Linda sang lead throughout. Here, you have the Foxes each taking a verse. Linda Thompson, co-writer of the song has praised their performance and is even a Patreon supporter of the group. Todd Rundgren posted their version of 'We Gotta Get You a Woman' on his RU-vid channel. The Go Gos have posted their two covers 'Vacation' and 'Our Lips Are Sealed'. Graham Nash has praised their cover of 'Suite: Judy Blue Eyes'. David Crosby is rumored to say that he would be hard pressed to sing at their level. So far they have covered four CSN songs. The vocal mix is amazing. They have been complimented by one of the drummers of Pure Prairie League for their cover of 'Aimee'. They have received kudos for their version of Keith Whitley's song, 'When You Say Nothing at All'. There are several other songs that escape me where band members or recording personnel have praised Foxes and Fossils fo their musical performaces and interpretations. With almost 80 million RU-vid views and climbing, these folks are the real deal.
Doing all the different songs they perform, they are the best group of singers and musicians I have ever heard, not for a cover band, I'm talking professionally.
Covering Dolly, Linda and Emmy Lou is very brave but I think the foxes did a great job. Their first video was a cover of Suite Judy Blue Eyes and is fabulous. Of their more recent covers, I really like "Harvest Moon".
First girl is Maggie, second is Sammie, the third is Chase. Chase is the only one who aspires to be a professional singer. If you look at the number of views Maggie is probably the most popular lead. But it really depends on the song. I can honestly say that each girl sings lead on a song that is one of my favorites. Mind you a lot of what is on RU-vid is from when they performed live when they girls were in high school. Those are pretty amazing. You almost have to separate the old live stuff from the newer "in Tim's studio" stuff. Of the older stuff there are several of Maggies I like but Landslide is probably my favorite, although that is probably due to Sammie's fantastic harmony. Of Sammies, I love "The Night Before". On that one you need to listen to how she changes the words near the end and watch the girls after the song ends. Chase doesn't have too many leads back then but I like "Royals" the best. Of the newer recordings I'd go with "Harvest Moon" for Maggie, "Neon Moon" for Sammie, and "Love is the Answer" for Chase. Tim and Darwin both sing also. But probably the most amazing song of all is Suite Judy Blue Eyes which was recorded in their very first live performance and I believe it was their first song of the night. I've had favorite groups before where I'd listen to them every day for a while and then move on. I've been listening to this group now every day since before they had any in studio recordings, so that would be 4 or 5 years now. Also, when are you going to get back to Leonid & Friends. Glad you reacted to this. The second girl is the daughter of the piano player. I personally love ALL of the ladies' voices, but if you liked the third girl, Chase, you definitely need to listen to them do "Love Is The Answer"!! Also, "California Dreamin'" is fantastic, as much of their performances are. Also, your rating scale of what's a 1 is most accurate.

As mentioned, when Maggie could not longer get away as she lived in Nashville to work, Chase was brought in at age 15. The band has never performed live with all 3 girls yet, but hopefully by the end of 2022.
Maunalee. Try one of their first videos covering C. S & N’s Suite Judy Blue Eyes. Both girls are about 16. (The 3rd girl in Telling me lies was recruited to replace Maggie (1st girl) when she went to University, and they kept her on). There’s quite a bit of live stuff from them on RU-vid.
Maggie - the first girl - in this particular song comes in soft. There are other songs of hers where it fits her voice better. Sammie is a good singer too & you noticed that. Chase probably has the richest voice. She is amazing. Pertaining to any physical attributes - I don't think that should be mentioned - it is inappropriate. Stick to the Music.
I've watched all the F&F videos for the past couple years. They actually have a long history! Nice to watch and listen to the progression. When they included young, Miss Chase a couple years back, they added some real vocal power. Try their version of "Love is the Answer" to hear her shine. Maggie's beautiful rendition of "Harvest Moon" by Neil Young is really touching. Oh, and I should mention... they've covered a couple Beach Boys tunes very well !
Interesting first-time review of F&F. As you study more of their work, your impressions of them will definitely grow. The vocal combinations the "Foxes" can put together is stunning. Each has a unique voice and it cannot be said that any one is best. Their strength is in their blend, their song selections, and their ability to arrange and perform the music in a way that capitalizes on their individual strengths. On top of all that is what the "Fossils" bring to the table. They have two male voices not used in this particular song that they can throw into the mix and create something that is unmatched anywhere. Then there is instrument work created by skill that is as good as you will find. There is a reason that some of their videos have drawn praise from the actual superstars who created the original music!
Tripped across F&F about a year ago and have become a huge fan. A couple of songs in which the harmonies will leave you with goosebumps on top of goosebumps are “Carry On” and “Suite:Judy Blue Eyes.” Also “Seven Bridges Road” and I love Chase singing “Royals” at 15.

A disappointing reaction. She spent as much time talking about her own musical capabilities and yrying to determine who has the ugliest eyes as she did actually reacting to the tune. Her comments on the girls' voices were puzzling. I suppose in the karaoke circuit it is necessary to sing as loud as possible just to be heard above the noisy bar. But this song required some finesse. Maggie began with a subdued voice, Sammy followed with a little more attitude, and Chase lost her mind. Just as the song demanded. It was a drama with a very powerful message. To compare this trio with the original Trio just isn't fair. Seriously, who would even try? But the girls were spot on. It made this grown man cry.

When they added Chase. myfavorite showcase is their cover of Dedicated to One I love. Maggie might impress with their latest cover of. Nickel Creek’s “Destination”
The cover they do of Todd Rundgren's Love is the answer is wonderful, if you want to hear Chase flat out kill it. Sammie and Maggie can both sing lead on about anything and they can harmonize with anybody on any song. Sammie does a killer version of Angel from Montgomery. They don't have a lazy eye it's just looking at the microphone so close to your face.
If you really like the third vocalist Chase, listen to Love is the Answer or Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. The band as a whole is really addictive. I enjoyed your reaction.
If you want to hear more of Chase, the singer you liked best, try their cover of Mamas and Papas "Dedicated to the One I Love". She is a rare singer who can cover Mama Cass, and the harmonies are spectactular.
The third young woman is Chase Truren and should be on contract to a smart record producer. This band is the best cover band in the nation and maybe the world. The guy on keyboard is the father of the second woman Sammy. He's also the founder of the band. He has a great voice too.
Crossed eyes? 😳🤣🤣 I noticed this early on in their studio work, and it’s a bit disconcerting, especially with Chase, but it’s nothing more than the tendency to focus on the microphone that is close to their face. Don’t know if it’s a lack of experience, a bit of self-conscience “don’t know where to look” or I believe, simply the fact that they are focused entirely on performing and how they look doing it is way down the priority list. Remember, much of their work was recorded and produced before they had any of the incredible popularity they have now. As always, props to Tim for is incredible talent at mixing and producing. These studio performances are frequently multiple tracks recording different performers in different sessions.

The eye thing is simply that Sammi and Chase (girl 2 & 3) didn't know not to look at the mike! Sammi is the daughter of Tim, the arranger and keyboardist. Check out their cover of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
The guy on the keyboard is the dad of the blond girl (middle singer). The other muscians are members of the dad's band. They decided to include the daughter and a friend (first girl who sang) in a few songs in one of their gigs. It went so well they created a separate band (Fossils and Foxes). The girls were about 15 that first year. When the one girl (first to sing) went off to college they found another 15 year-old (the third girl to sing) to join the band to keep it going. Now, many of the band members are off in various states, but they keep getting together to make videos from time to time, and I think they are going to join for a tour this year due to the wild sucess of their video channel. One of their best songs is actually an older one from a few years ago. @@dandydon6049 I'm not sure if Maggie's voice has actually deteriorated. The vocal training she got in college certainly changed the way she sings though. I prefer the Twisted Taco Maggie because she was more adventurous (cover of Here and Now) and drove her voice harder and more frequently than she does now. While we will never see them do live shows at a taco joint ever again, I would love to see them do more songs like the ones they used to do at the Twisted Taco, with Maggie singing like she did back then more often.
Two of the men sing lead as well. If you want to hear them I suggest their latest release, "Peace Train" and a much older one "Doctor My Eyes". Really, for me it's hard to pick a best from their repetoire. In my opinion there are only a few that are less than stellar. Pick something you like and go from there.
Agree with the SJBE suggestions. Also Helplessly Hoping….the early version live in a parking lot. Just amazing. For another artist, check out Franz Rhythm. I see you like Cranberries. Char, the youngest daughter who is currently 16, does Dolores O’Riordan like nobody else since, well, Dolores. Try Dreams or Zombie or Just My Imagination. Remember, she is a Filipina, and she does the songs with a very convincing Irish accent. Then to get really blown away by her, go to the Franz Rhythm Mom channel and check out What’s Up….done in a live jam.
They are awesome!! Probably my favorite is Love is the Answer. The third girl Chase I think sings lead and it will blow you away! They have GREAT songs and each one has their own strengths. Maggie (the first girl) was the original lead. Sammie (the second one) generally sang harmony early on. Their songs go back ten years or more. They recently just exploded on RU-vid in the last couple years and now release new songs regularly. Sadly the bass player for years including this song recently passed away. I hope you spend a little time looking at this group. They are amazing. So is Lexington Lab Band.

The 2nd singer (long blonde hair) is the daughter of the guy who started the band and played keyboards in this song. All the other band members are not related. Try their cover of "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" It is my favorite. Also, their cover of Harvest Moon is not bad.
The eyes issue is likely because there is a video monitor directly in front of them, just off-screen. Kinda hard to focus on something that is right there in front of your face, without narrowing your eye position.
Relative to 'Crossed-Eyes'---don't focus on the microphone when it is about 1 foot in front of your face. You will cross your eyes---most everyone would cross your eyes!
Maunalee, I see that several people have suggested that you listen to their version of Suite: Judy Blue Eves. This was the first song that the group (without Chase) performed at their first performance. Tim had a lot of confidence in Maggie (16 yrs old) and Sammie (15 yrs old) to start their careers with that selection. I could not believe that they started off with that!!
My favorite youtube music reviewer has found my favorite youtube music group. the best way to experience the group is to start at the beginning. Starting in 2010, which Maggie (first girl in telling me lies) and Sammie (second girl) at 15, and 14 respectively sing live CSNY’ Judy Blue Eyes. it will blow you away. Don’t take my word for it Graham Nash posted his feelings soon after on their website saying it was the best cover he had heard. From their they sing in pizza parlors, Tasty Taco fast food patio’s and different music festival venues. Tim is the founder, along with several “Fossil” musicians from his former group the Mustangs. Based in Atlanta, F&F was founded by a fluke. Progress through their catalog, interrupted when first Maggie went away to college. They brought in Chase (third girl). And then years later, just before Covid in March 2020 they reformed with Maggie. But live shows were not too be. Since, in studio. They just keep producing amazing music.
I'll start with a comment on your intro. I saw Glenn Miller behind you - fine choice. Then I saw "No Jacket Required" - OK, good album. At 1:40 you lean forward, and there it is: The Doors, "Strange Days"! All your opinions are right and I'll like all your videos!
Foxes and Fossils have a large selection of wonderful RU-vid vids covering roughly 10 years. I recommend: Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, Landslide; Can't Hurry Love; Nobody Love, Dedicated to the One I Love, Seven Bridges Road, and Helplessly Hoping. So many good songs to choose from...
Tim Purcell (on keyboard ) and Sammie Purcell ( second singer ) are father and daughter. They are the only two who are related. The group started when Tim's band had run its course and he wanted a project to do with his daughter. I like most of their songs,but two of my favorites are Dedicated To The One I Love and Seven Bridges Road.
Maybe it would help to tell u they have not been together as a band in years they get together and produce songs now and again for they're utube fans and because they like to make music little if any rehearsal try listening to they're national anthem oh the middle one and keyboardist are father daughter no others are related
