I had the same thought watching the live! Finally able to watch this react and am not disappointed. I couldn't appreciate Hobi's moves and dance half as much if not for these guys who explain the difficulty of it all so well.

Loved Adam's comment about how he's moving to different variations of the beat within the beat! I think when he stopped in the middle of his move was, like you said, him thinking about his next move. I saw another dancer comment on that and he said he was probably thinking of different directions he could take once he was on the floor and decided to just leave it at that this time haha. Just one of those raw, unscripted moments you get to see in a practice session where he's just trying out different things and honing his craft. I loved that he just shared everything with us.

The best thing about this performance (aside from the amazing dancing, of course) is that little smile he gets on his face sometimes - when he's happy with something he did, or when he just plain feels happy because he's dancing. It's a joy to watch - puts a smile on my face, too. Every. Time.

I think Adam talked about how he dances not just to the main beat but switches from the beat, to the rhythm of the singer/rapper, to the little melodies and back. Also, different parts of his body--his head, his feet, his shoulders, are all doing different parts or he's just flowing over the whole thing. Do you remember that old school screen saver that would go to a black screen and then string art in different colors would ripple and vibrate in random waves on the screen. That's what Hobi feels like to me when he freestyles. If you could make his head blue, his arms red, his legs..., His feet..., Etc. And light him on a Black screen, you could literally watch the music. His dancing is like HEARING it with your EYES. He is like pure joy when he freestyles! In the intergalactic dance battle, Hobi's representing for Earth! Ain't nothing more to discuss, so check that box!! Oh, and we've got V making aliens bow down with the visual supremacy, and RM and Suga on the mic-- world enders! But I digress, and I don't condone alien violence. 😈😏

I love that Hobi is actually combining old school and new school moves, not to mention different types of Hip Hop moves. He's not staying in one or two wheelhouses of Hip Hop but using everything he knows and coming up with new things. He keeps himself fresh and that's not just the marks of a great dancer but a great choreographer as well. I love your guys' reaction to him too. Hobi has worked really hard to be where he's at, they all have really and BTS is a great bunch of guys too. This old lady here is in the BTS army and having just found this channel from a recommendation, I am subscribing because I like the positive vibes you guys give out. 😎👍

One other powerful aspect of Hobi’s performance for me were his facial expressions. Sometimes they shouted that he was entirely immersed in that moment, totally within that moment - not outside of his being at all. Other times they expressed his delight and fun in sharing his dance with the rest of us. Let us all acclaim his talents and recognize that his absolute control of his body while continually offering spontaneity, already makes him one of the all time greats!

Even though his movements seem small, simple and insignificant at times, the motion of his clothing, especially his shirt, tells an altogether different story. So many muscles are working together to create this amazing and memorizing performance. I had dance training for 8 years when I was very young, and I have such a respect for j-hope's extreme talent. I watched this VLive as it happened and I loved all of the movements and dancing. In some of it he looked like he had a mix in there of ballet stances with the footwork. That adds a whole other level of class to the whole thing. So fluid and smooth with every transition. It was a delight to witness this from Hobi.

I was noticing many armys saying bts has changed and not coming to live as often as they did when they were not that polular..which made me so frustrated, knowing that the boys' schedule are insne. But few days later he tuned on vlive at literally 1am and just showed us everything from his natural routine to hive bathroom😂 and kept on talking to us for more than an hour..although he said he was tired several times 🥺🥺🥺

This. People piss me off sometimes when they want BTS to grow, but then get angry when they make it big and don’t make music that’s the same as all of their older music. I’m pretty sure BTS is where they’re at rn cause they’re NOT people pleasers. They tell stories and of course they’re not always the same ones, especially during this pandemic. We know how hard they work and always want them to rest, but then some people get mad for them not being active next to their INTENSE schedules. 😅 Bless BTS, these vlives we’ve been getting are enough to keep me happy and sound for a long time. They’ve worked more during this pandemic than I ever have. 👏🏽💜💜💜

Agree. They don’t realize that the more fame they get the more busy they’ll be. It hurts and frustrates me as well to see and hear people say that they “miss the old bts”. It makes me feel like they didn’t like bts solely in the first place. They don’t see how much effort and love they are actually putting for us 🥺

@@WhatchaGot2Say Well said! Just think about the crazy amounts of contents I cannot imagine how hectic it would be for the boys. Actually I don’t think they sleep, ever. We can clearly see how they pour out themselves into the perfection of one performance, while doing all the crazy schedules like shooting 32 different performance, run bts, summer & winter packages and BV, preparing muster & feata & (hopefully) concert tour & mixtapes, shooting ads, 5 different mvs and LV fashion show, writing and producing their own songs, doing 30 or more interviews, collaborating with other singers, practicing choreos and working out (close that gym!), and so on! I can just barely catch up with the yt videos of the boys while realizing that they are actually doing so much more than I can perceive

Like when Hobi did this vlive I was thinking why is he still dancing in middle of the night, he should be sleeping by now and then i read many comments from armys telling him to have some rest and sleep since its already past midnight. I really fell in love with Hobi and his movements, he inspired me a lot when I saw him dancing free style on his Live, I really fell in love! He's amazing! I mean, just look at him dancing! I could see him dancing all day long💜 And the crazy thing is that when he did that Live he was a little bit sad and down, he confessed that he doesn't feel like a great dancer, that he's not as good as he used to be, that there are many much better dancers than him around the world, and I was like "WHAAAAAAT??, you are driving me crazy with those movements, you're driving the world crazy but you're not watching at yourself???" If only he knew how much he inspired me, I even returned to dance after my injuries, he made me change my life. J Hope is really special, he born to dance!💜🌟

He makes it look so effortless but, I know it takes a lot of practice and a good work ethic. J-Hope I'm sure puts in hours upon hours of time to get to the level that he's at. And that's just dancing! Then he is also a great rapper and I'm saying vocalist too because we've heard him sing and know his voice is beautiful. As someone who isn't familiar with the music he was moving to, or aware of the names/origins of the moves themselves, I truly enjoy these segments. When Blaze and AJJ casually drop so much information that I didn't even know I was missing. Does that make sense? So far out of my element that I don't know what I don't know. Grateful for this glimpse into a different culture from the one I grew up in/live in.

I imagine that this final 24:27 minute video you uploaded was originally over 2 hours of many rewinds and insightful breakdowns by 2 great dancers (and our charming Nico) on the practice session of this phenomenal dancer, that is JHope. When it comes to dancing, Hobi is the beat, he makes his own beat. I love how in his freestyle, he makes choreo that is easy for anyone to do and other moves that show his skills/expertise.

I watched this live ,Hopi said he used to dance all thru the night ,he was surprised that he got tired after dancing for an hour. Even if there was no beat I could listen to the music thru his movements.

we really appreciate your insights about it and Thank you for acknowledging Hobi's dancing skills because not all can actually see it (especially the tiny details) unless someone pointed it out (who are actually knowledgeable about it) I'm learning a lot and at the same time loving your reactions hahaha. as a dancer myself, I love seeing my fellow dancers reacting to j-hope because we all know this man capability as a professional dancer are insane. The amount of control and self descipline to achieved this level. Btw, freestyle is one of the hardest things to do. And seeing j-hope making this look easy, you have to admire his knowledge about it. He's a genius. The flow of his thoughts to do the next moves.. so smooth. I love this man.
