Hi Alicia. One of your OG watchers here. I am 70++ and have never commented. Just wanted to thank you for all the hard work and detail you've provided us over the years. Especially on comparisons, what brushes go best with which product textures, etc. I'm NC 20 in MAC but have found many, if not most of your color recommendations work for me. Recently picked up the Prada Caramel which is my exact lip color neutral, finally found for the first time. I have sensitive eyes and can't wear powder eye shadow, as the fallout ends up with irritation or eye infection every time. So the cream eyeshadow selection has been limited ~ especially in neutral matte shades ~ (plenty of sparkly ones, though, which don't suit older people IMO) ~ until the Groundworks palette came along. I was trying my best until I saw your Figuring Out Groundworks video ~ so brilliant, as always, you knew which brushes and swiping technique to use to control Danessa's innovative formulas best ~ so now I've ordered the Blooming R palette as well. You are such a talented and great instructor, you have such an almost instinctive knowledge of how to use different product formulas ~ if I had a cosmetics line, I'd put you in charge of marketing it, straight up. So appreciate your channel and how much I have gotten out of your videos over the years. Don't quit. You help us all so much!
I also have a lot of allergies for powder eyeshadow. I use P.louise primer that is very sticky in order to put it on so I don't get fallout and I make sure to buy from companies that don't add scents or irritants
My goodness!! Friend 🥹 Thank you for watching me all this time, and continuing to watch! I’m over the moon humbled by your kind words, and I’m truly happy to hear that my videos have helped you all this time. And I agree with you, that cream shadow products are limited, but groundwork seems to be one of the easiest formats to use. It would be great if Danessa did a groundwork’s mini for travel, but we could make it work if we needed to be en route. Can’t wait for you to try Blooming Romance 🥰
Also a mature person with sensitive eyes. I have found I typically do well with talc-free shadows. Sydney Grace are some of my favorites. Unike you, I do still enjoy my shimmers, though.😊
I purchased Blooming Romance the day it early released on the Sephora app. I LOVE it! I purchased Defining Neutrals in store the second day of Rouge access. I'm struggling with it. I have light neutral skin, brown eyes, and smoky grey hair with lilac highlights. I'm awaiting the arrival of the Lisa Eldridge skin tint.
@@aliciaarcher I've already watched your vid on the Blooming palette, and mine just arrived today! Along with the Hourglass Sparrow. That color and the Prada Caramel I picked up on your recommendation and they both look beautiful on me! You never steer me wrong. I took a few of the Groundworks colors out of the large palette and put them in a smaller magnetic "go" palette for travel, so now I can include some of the blush colors as well and leave all the various individual other products at home. Would love to see special brushes for Danessa's palettes but ~ until then, I look forward to seeing more demos and brush recommendations as you discover them!
Oh thank god for you Alicia! I purchased the palette because it is sooo beyoootiful and now I’m staring at it wondering HOW I’m gonna use it. This is super super useful!
🙌 Yes, I have been waiting for this! You say you are disorganized, I say you are realistic. This is how most of us apply our makeup in the morning. Even if you plan your look out, it never seems to go to plan and it’s nice to see how easy it is to adapt the palette. Your complexion with the Dior all over and the DM Blurring Balm on top is gorgeous! I can’t wait to try a full face with my palette tomorrow. I’ve only swatched it and then put it back in the box. But I now feel ready to take on my full face!
I can’t wait for you to dive in!!! I find that Blooming Romance has a larger room for error, because of the blush tones. And yes, the blurring balm and start filter combo has easily become my go-to complexion routine 🤣
Hello Alicia, when you put the DM Blurring Balm on top of the Dior it was pure magic! It transformed your complexion to the next level and beyond. You are so beautiful and everything you used was a win, win. Watching you is motivating me to start playing with my makeup back again. After a year of battling cancer, I am getting stronger and trying to get back to being me again. It's not always easy but, I with God before me I am determine. Videos like yours light a spark inside of me so, thank you so much. You are making a difference. God bless you Sweetie! 🙏🏽💯💖🤗🦋💐✌🏽
I’m happy to hear that you’re healing, Angie! Thank you for allowing me to be apart of that process, and hopefully my content will continue to spark your enthusiasm 🥰
The Dior Glow Maximers are the real deal. I picked up Peachy and it is a beautiful highlighter! The Rare Beauty was too shimmery for me and that packaging in my butter fingers is a no go! Wah! Still on the fence about getting Blooming Romance. Here to get influenced by you, to buy it before the sale ends! LOL
I was blown away by the maximizers, and hand swatches definitely don’t do them justice. Which is probably why I wasn’t impressed by them when I swatched them in store. But when applied on the cheeks!? Game over 😅
I literally just when O0ooOoO! 😲 when you added the Dior at the end! Oh em gee! It's beautiful! This palette is gorgeous, definitely! Your whole look at the end was SO SMOOTH! Everything was such a soft airbrushed finish and blended so seamlessly, oof! LOVEEE IT!! 😂❤ (I thought I already commented but I couldn't find it to edit so apologies if there's two, lol)
Great minds Alicia ! 😂 great minds !!! I just received my Sephora hauls in which I included the blooming romance palette & the Dior star filter & 2 of the maximizers ❤👏🏼🙌🥰🤩💃🏻😍 I’m sooooo tempted to get at least 2 more of the maximizers b4 the sale ends …. I’m soooo very excited to try my palette & get those pomades on my eyes & face !!! I was the one who DMd you on IG about the new byredo palette & the Dior maximizers 😅 I got gold & rosy but now I want peach, nude & maybe bronze 😊 lord help me !!! Thx so much for this video as always ! Danessa needs to see this video & send you PR & make you a DM Ángel ! ❤❤❤ ps … I’m playing with my palette mañana & I get my byredo palette delivered too 😅 I’ve been so underwhelmed with makeup this year … but the Dior goodies & DM & byredo have me very excited 🎉
@@aliciaarcher 🤣 I just ordered nude last night ! 😅💃🏻🙌🤩 we will be glowy all summer ! I’ve now become the influencer 😆❤️ ps … I received my byredo palette & sent you a pic on IG DM 🥰
These tones flatter you so much. You look stunning. And that lip combo!! Yessss! Not sure yet about this palette. I think I need to use ND Retro for a week and remind myself if I love these tones on my eyes. Yes, for cheeks, but I look better in peachy tones on the eyes. You didn’t finish your thought on the Mineralscapes-please tell me you’re buying and planning a multiple look, deep dive? Your Byredo videos are some of my very favorite.
Dang it it!!!! Now I want a maximizer!! And how did I not think about using the powder in the DM Blooming Romance palette as an under eye powder!? Now I'm more excited to use it
I had a crappy day yesterday so the timing of your good vibes is most welcomed! Still 100% keen for this palette (which is big coming from a 20 palette person) ❤
Thank you so much for reviewing these pallettes....sooo curious about them but I think it will be way too much. Wish they were in single refills or even a quad...that would make it more affordable to try out. Everything looked good on you though.
yes yes YES!!! haven't even started watching... just so happy to see this video pop up and to watch YOU doing the review! You have such a unique, informative, educational, thorough, and grounded approach to makeup. I bought this palette after some debate... excited to learn more about all of the ways to use the palette... So excited to start watching... now ; ) THANK YOU ❤
You are stunning. I watched your last video and was in awe of how good all of those colors looked on you. I have this and used it for blush one day and it was stunning. Danessa Myricks makeup is one of my faves. I use the defining neutrals all the time
I have all the three: DM. Blooming palette, Dior Maximizer in bronze (my complexion is medium-deep-tan/neutral), & the Dior glow star in 5N. Love them all…my mind exploded too. lol 😆 Girrllll my mind can’t even handle Danessa’s formula! ❤
As a hot sleeper too, I also dislike the fluctuation in temperatures upon changing seasons when one can’t seem to find a happy medium!! All jokes aside, you are a very natural teacher, Alicia, which is one of many reasons that make you amazing to watch!! Very helpful video! 😊😊❤❤
Listening to you whilst doing some midnight makeup play. 😅Looked up and my first thought was, damn girl, you look stunning! The makeup look, the hair, even earrings; chefs kiss. 😘 An aside, I have combo-leaning-oily skin, and LEs skin tint has been fabulous… except… I think the coconut might be making me break out. But, it’s great for a day that I’m in a major rush and want a light, minimal look. But, maybe I’ll go for DMs tinted blurring balm next time as I already use the universal as a primer!
Thank you for the compliments, friend! And for providing some feedback on the tint! I think I’ll stick with the blurring balm, as it’s fantastic for humid weather. And with the star filter!? Forget it 😭
Blooming Romance is the best palette I’ve ever used. The shades are one thing (beautiful), but the formulas are also a stand out for me. Ridiculously easy to blend, no creasing, I don’t need an eye shadow primer; honestly fabulous. I actually feel like it’s a worthwhile purchase and that rarely happens for me. I’m similar skin tone to you and have green eyes and the colours be poppin’. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Thanks for showing the 3N Dior, I tried it in store on my hand (which I liked) but it wasn’t in-stock. Looks lovely! I have the DM 6 too, so will try that combo… eventually. As always, thank you for the in-depth guidance. 🙂
My first Sephora order of the sale was for blooming romance. I used a finger application when I first tried it and loved it. I'm still experimenting with brushes but these colors are my favorite I absolutely needed it 😅
I’m happy to hear that! Thank you and hubs for watching! They stay well especially if your base is soft matte. I would set with powder for reinforcement if applied on a dewier base.
Alicia, I'm so happy you took my suggestion to use the Star Filter/Blurring Balm together! I probably should have mentioned before I have more combo/oily skin, but I'm glad it worked for you too! I love the skin tint effect by using both products while giving a nice hint of glow! I always appreciate your well-informed and thorough videos! ❤
I love these colors. Have started to play with this palette. I will admit that I ordered the Byredo palette last night from Selfridge's. When I was the swatches I had to have it.
I was able to get this beauty from the Sephora sale. I haven’t used it as of yet. I like to enjoy my brand new makeup for a little bit before I dive in! 😂. Thank you for making this video! ❤
I am looking to you for inspiration, Alicia. Thank you for the brush tips and the colour tips. I really love using the darker shades as very natural sculpting. There are enough shades with muted grey tones that all the soft shadows on your face can be coaxed out. I am still finding them a bit too dramatic to use on the brows. I bet the blackberry would be gorgeous in your brows. Thank you for including us in your playtime. I was happy to play with “Blooming Romance” on my lips.
What a fun vid Alicia. Although I am STILL trying to pan my older Natasha Denona face palettes. They certainly have been fun to use in different ways, esp. right now for spring, the Bloom palette. Who knows? Those DM palettes are so tempting...
Stunning! I love this palette. The colors are beautiful. I had my eye on the Dior Forever Glow Maximizer Highlighter in bronze, but when I tested it in store, it did nothing. They’re so pretty on you. I love the looks you created!
I only just got Defining Neutrals like barely 2 weeks ago and I'm trying to get the hang of how I like using it. I haven't reached for it a _ton_ mostly because I'm still having a full on spring moment with pastels and pinks on the face and I know Blooming Romance will fill that void but I am trying so hard to resist lol because I know the moment spring is over and we go into summer the the Defining Neutrals is going to come in clutch for the rest of the year basically 😂 I also want to try pairing it with Biba to see how that goes 👀 and if I really _need_ both of them
I believe it’s pronounced glad-ee-oh-luh. I am watching your video because you give so much amazing information. I really want this but I was wondering how much use I’d get and now I think I’d get a lot. Also just took the same RB blush out of my cart lol. Already had the same lys blush so I’ll be happy with just that and if I need more glow I can add a regular highlighter lol. Thanks for all the effort you put into these videos.
My palette will be here Monday! I plan to mix some of the pans from the neutrals palette into the Blooming one to make a perfect travel, all in one pallet. And, are you getting the new Byredo? It really speaks to me and it will be here soon too. So much for my low buy year lol!
Thank you for the tutorial. The DM palette will be a pass for me. I just blew my April beauty budget on the new Byredo Eye Palette-Mineralscapes. I loved your reviews of the other three Byredo palettes (Prismic, Kalahari and Remembrance). Hoping to see your review on Mineralscapes if you decided to purchase.
It’s really doesn’t matter but I know you sometimes geek out on somethings 😉🙂…so I thought I’d just mention…gladiola…(at least where I’m at) is pronounced glad-e-oh-la. The flower itself is really named gladiolus but they’re sometimes referred to as “gladdies” or “sword lilies.” They’re tall with trumpet flowers. 🙂
Has anybody ever compared the Danessa’s groundwork and romance palettes to Hindash’s Beautopsy and Monochromance? I thought that Hindash started this types of palettes first. Or am I wrong? Thanks for the vid, Alicia❤
Every Rare Beauty blush and Highlighter that has shipped to me has been SMASHED .. so I no longer even try to buy. It means u cannot travel with it.. if you drop it.. it will break probably 😢
I'm laaaate! 🫢 Ugh, I can't wait to see this on you. Though I have a bit of a tan so I don't think we are the same shade now but close enough to know if I need it. I'll be taking a break from travels for the summer so I will be wearing more makeup and saving money for my East Coast road trip in the fall. You know the NYC fabric district is going to be wild. 😉 Okay... I'm ready!
