This is a great video, Sofia! Thank you for your honesty and detailed review. I was curious about this foundation, after watching your review, I think I will pass on this one😊
Great review and I love the honesty! I think I'll give it a try in 4n as I'm pretty much your shade and it looked like a great match. I'm a sucker for glowy skin and not having to powder my face. Hopefully I can get it to work easily. ❤
This was SUCH a helpful and thorough review. Thank you! Would you consider reviewing the new DM Yummy Blurring Balm Powder on its own and with the Yummy Serum foundation? I seem to have a very similar complexion and skin type/texture as you do, so I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on it. Especially with this foundation
I’m so glad it was helpful! I have watched some early reviews and it seems like the new balm powder is not great for dry skin so I’m not sure if I’m going to try it 🙁 this one was so bad for me that I ended up returning it. But Maybe when it gets humid here in the summer I can give the balm powder a try!
Upsisss... It is what it is... Foundation is a challenge... My skin is a B... One day looks amazing... Next day hates me... I want to try this foundation But not when my skin is veery very dry
the primer also made my foundation stick in certain areas! sad bc it had so much potential...the texture, the smell, the packaging is all great. sadly it just didnt perform :(
I’ve seen several videos on this foundation and they’re all pretty much the same..does no one at the company test this ??? How does an ify product hit the market ? I truly depend on the views of RU-vidrs to help me make good choices and I’m grateful for the honesty.
What I’m seeing is that it works super well for some but not so great for others 😕 Danessa Myricks is a small brand so she probably tested it as best she could but with a minimal budget I’m sure it’s difficult
Hi Sofia. You brought up an excellent point that I’ve been wondering about. It’s hyaluronic acid in foundations. I use h.a. as part of my skincare routine and top it with an oil AND an occlusive. So when it’s in my foundation, how am I supposed to seal it? I bought the L’Oreal Tinted Serum w/Hyaluronic Acid and by the end of the day, my skin it dry & tight. I thought it was just my skin, but it seems that I’m not alone.
Exactly. I think it really depends on the formulation of the product and if it’s going to work well with your skin. Especially if the air is really dry like it is here in my climate you run the risk of a lot of the moisture evaporating. If you have good skin care with these ingredients it’s not super necessary to load up on hyaluronic acid in the foundation in my opinion. It’s like skin care 😅 it’s not going to work for everyone
@@SofiaSeesBeauty That’s a good point. I tried the foundation this winter during the driest time of the year. However, the climate here is extremely humid in the spring & summer. So, I’ll try it again in a few weeks after the humidity rises and see how it works. And if it still doesn’t work, I’ll just move on from it🌺
@@karlaschmid8757I’m so glad this foundation works great for you. You’re right, squalane is included, but it’s not the kind of occlusive that creates a barrier on top of skin. I love using squalane over h.a. because it sinks in and feels so soft. However, I’m talking about occlusives that leave a film like waxes, butters, lanolin, silicones, petroleum jelly, etc. Even some heavy oils like Olive, Jojoba, Argan and Safflower are good. Lately, I’ve been using Mustard oil at night and can still feel a film on my skin the next morning.
Hey Sofia! Thanks for the great review! I have a question 🤔. I have Norma to dry skin and love a dewy finish and like yourself,I don't like to powder my face but sometimes I find my blush and bronzer hard panning because there's alot of oils on our skin.Do you find that as well?
Yes I have experienced that! Sometimes when the foundation is dewy it can transfer to your powder products. I recommend waiting a few minutes before applying bronzer (maybe do your eyes or brows in the meantime 🙃) or trying a setting spray before the bronzer. I also have found that using a clean brush helps! Sometimes I also just try to pair dewy foundations with other cream formulas. 😇
I’m definitely a proponent of skin prep but the product itself is marketed to give hydration and glow. I don’t think I could have used anything more moisturizing than my current skin prep
I hate the whole "yummy" shtick. Like what is that even supposed to mean lol. She should've just said "glowy" and called it a day. I honestly can't believe how much it bothers me 😂 lovely video though!~
