I'm coming in to say I disagree with your Kirumi take: She really did kill, and tried manipulating all the others, BECAUSE she wanted to save her people. From her point of view, she needed to survive no matter the cost because otherwise Japan would be doomed, destroyed. As one of the cast stated, she weighed the lives of everyone against the lives of every living person in Japan, choosing the latter. My proof of this are her very last words: "For my nation... for my people! I WILL NOT DIEEEEE!"

yeah Maki wanted for 100% to be certain that Kokichi gets voted, because if somone gets voted, either if they are the blackend or spotless they will die, so she didnt care about the truth, she just wanted the result, kind of like the “the end justifies the means” but a bit different

I'm glad you put Ryoma in gray neutral, especially with how some of his fans can be. Did he deserve better? Oh, absolutely. Did he "do nothing wrong?" No, he still murdered people. But that's the thing, he himself recognizes that and feels like he's no longer worthy of redemption or a future because of it. That, and while you don't see it in-game, his past impulsiveness and reckless actions are what not only motivated his decision to murder the mafia, but him attending a shady tournament and refusing to throw the match was what indirectly led to his loved ones being killed, fueling his self-loathing and downward spiral that we see in-game. I feel like, when a portion of his fanbase completely glosses over these facts, they're doing his character a disservice.

I don't think kokichis manipulation of Gonna in case 4 seemed much of a Grey Neutral characterization. I guess his intentions weren't that bad but i would argue he definitely knew what he was doing and that it would probably get Gonna killed one way or another, and yet he not only risked it but didn't care
@DerpyHiro

@@DerpyHiro I think you picked the right choice. Kokichi is morally ambiguous. Everything he does is in the extreme because he can't trust anyone. He is overly paranoid and with good reason. His goal was to end the killing game in any way possible and to NOT get killed by Miu. Gonta was indeed a pawn, but Gonta still chose his own path.

Fun Fact: The only two characters in V3 who never canonically killed anyone, tried to kill someone, wished someone to die, threatened suicide/convinced others to suicide were Rantaro and Angie. The murderers per chapter are Tsumugi, Kirumi, Korekiyo, Gonta, and Kaito Maki and Ryoma are murderers in their background stories Miu and Kaede both attempted to murder someone while Kokichi planned the murders of Miu and his own Keebo killed Tsumugi in the Ultimate Anihaltaion and was also ready to let Shuichi, Maki, and Himiko die Tenko wanted Angie to die in chapter 3 while Himiko wanted Korekiyo to die in the trial Shuichi convinced the rest of the survivors in chapter 6 to commit suicide by abstaining from the vote We don't really know what Rantaro wanted to do when he would found out the mastermind. Besides this Angie is actually the only character who wanted everyone to live.

I think you are too harsh on both Aoi and Maki and NOT harsh enough on Mikan who is confirmed to do all her weird falls on purpose for attention. Mikan also has very aggressive yandere vibes with thinking she should paralyze Hajime so she has to take care of him. As for Maki and Aoi, they had a breakdown due to just being overwhelmed in the environment they were in. They both settled down and tried to right their wrongs. The are not bad people and should not be in the Gray Bad area. Gray Neutral should be as low as they go, IMO. Other than that, not too bad other than moving Kyoko to Gray Good. I mean, she worked really hard to get everyone out of the killing game. She also didn't kill anyone like Gundham did. I would put her between Gundham and Sakura.
@DerpyHiro
@DerpyHiro Год назад
Aoi and Maki are as low as they are just because their actions are very extreme to me. Like I look at what they did and I just think to myself wow that's insane. Of course the killing game situation is what caused them to act so extremely but that can be said for all the characters. Grey bad is not meant to be for characters that are bad. I don't think Maki and Aoi are bad people. I just think they are in the lower part of the grey characters in the series. Thinking about it more though, I'd think I'd move them over some characters who do bad things regardless of the killing game like Mondo or Yasuhiro. With Mikan, yea there was some things I definitely missed. I forgot about the whole falling over part while I was making the tier list. I think that alone would drop her to good grey. Also she wanted to paralyze Hajime? That is a detail I've forgotten completely. Also in hindsight I do agree with your thoughts on Kyoko. She had her hand forced in chapter 5 and other than that 1 scene where she used Makoto as bait, she didn't do anything bad. I'd move her up to good grey.

Sad thing about Kokichi is that I genuinely feel like they wouldn't have believed him if he was up front about Miu trying to kill him. With the meet and greet, they let him get like, effectively tortures by gonta even when they later admitted that Kirumi's kill wouldn't have happened likely if they knew she had way too much to live for and that Ryoma had nothing to, it's *Kaito* that admitted that. They literally watched Maki strangle him. He exposed her talent yes but, they literally watched her strangle him when the worst thing he's done is the insect meet and greet. No one checks up on him. They're more worried for Maki not being a culprit. That's fucked like, my little sister has been an asshole with pranks and stuff and so have other kids and peers but I'd be checking if they were alright. They're not the nicest at all really. @@DerpyHiro Basically, antenna-less Keebo is him acting without the audience influencing his decisions via surveys (his inner voice). This means Keebo's decision to destroy the school and kill everyone in order to end despair was likely the first entirely free choice. As Keebo said during his monologue before chapter 5 ends: "I used to hear my inner voice with perfect clarity. It would fill me with the power of hope, guide me along the right path... ... I can't hear it anymore. All I hear now... is silence. That silence means my will is now my own." tldr; most of K1-B0's choices were influenced or semi-scripted, and him not caring if he kills everyone is his own choice without any audience guiding him.

3:10 as a Kokichi fan: nono you’re absolutely RIGHT and you SHOULD say it. He’s not an angel at all. Honestly when it comes to Kokichi no matter where you put him you’d probably risk hate so you should just say what you think, and I’m glad he’s here. 4:54 BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED 6:49 no she absolutely did there were so many layers of bad there. Only character I actually wanted to see punished for her murderous crimes 8:00 Ehh kinda disagree I’d put her in Grey Good just cuz she was weighing lives 8:52 I’d pull him down to Grey Good over ch4. No way man tried to vote Kokichi because “I just want to bet my friends’ lives on my hunch vs this very compelling pile of evidence” 10:10 tbh she really didn’t do anything wrong it just kind of sucked that everyone decided she was evil because ???

3:20 "Think about what Kokichi did, he didn't do that many bad things." Chapter 4, Kokichi shows Gonta the outside world and manipulates him into killing Miu and then after Gonta gets executed- he laughs and says "who cares about the idiot?!". People say "oh hes lying about that, he cares for Gonta" but even then, would you say that after you basically get the person you care for get killed? Then Gonta being in the same Gray Neutral as Kokichi? Gonta was made to believe that the outside world was a never ending wasteland, death and carnage everywhere. So him(ontop of being manipulated) killing someone for the sake of them not leaving the game in hopes of a free world and only finding out the outside world is worst than the killing game, isn't that bad. But ofc thats just how I feel about it.

I forgot how much involvement Kokichi had with Gonta's manipulation. I still would argue Gonta made his own choice but the way Kokichi executed the plan makes me move him down to grey bad. I’m glad you placed Kokichi in the gray neutral because a lot of people see him as this black and white character when in actuality his actions and characterization overall are very much in the gray area. This is one thing I really love about him because he’s such a convoluted character and you really have to dig into what he’s saying and what his actions are to find out his real intentions. At the end of the day he just wanted to end the killing game and prevent any more deaths. Some people might argue that he got Gonta and Miu killed in Chp 4 for no reason, but the thing is that Miu was going to kill him. He knew Miu was planning to kill him and if he would’ve gone against her all alone, he would’ve died because he knew the trick behind the virtual reality world. Hence he needed someone’s help, and Gonta was the only one who was ready to trust him and go with him. Another argument is that he could’ve just told the others about Miu’s plan of killing him, but who would’ve believed him? The group was at that point already very wary of Kokichi and he had accused people of murder left and right just for creating chaos so the chance of them believing him instead of Miu would’ve been nearly zero. Maybe Shuichi could’ve been suspicious but still, it wouldn’t have helped to tell the others about Miu planning to kill Kokichi. This is not meant to paint Kokichi as an angel who does no wrong, because that’s not the point at all. He’s meant to be a morally ambiguous character whose actions are not all meant to be excused. Besides he’s an annoying little bastard and I want to punch him, with all the love. I’m saying he has good intentions underneath the facade and questionable choices he makes to get to those goals.

I hate to say it, but I would move Shuichi down to grey good, mainly because he told lies during the class trials just so that he could force the truth out. That wouldn't be so egregious if it wasn't for #1, the back route option, where Shuichi would tell a lie for something that doesn't require a lie, and #2, chapters four and five, where he actually takes advantage of everyone's trust in him, the latter of which when he should've realized that it was too late to back peddle. The only reason I would put him in grey good and not in grey is because he was doing it as a means of looking out for the others. Even then, I wouldn't put him very high, because there was one point during chapter 5 where he sided with Maki's efforts to take out Kokichi. I love him to pieces, but that's something that I can't gloss over.

6:45 By my understanding, Maki did try to kill Kokichi, so that Kaito wouldn’t become the blackened as a result of having shot him with a poisoned arrow. Essentially, as she saw it, Kokichi was doomed either way thanks to the poison, and if she allowed the poison to be what killed him that would make Kaito the blackened, whereas if she killed Kokichi directly before the poison did, she would be the blackened and Kaito would be safe.

None of the V3 deserve to be in the good rank. They are quite literally the biggest set of assholes I've seen in any game. Their treatment of Kokichi was appalling, then have the gall to take the moral high ground when he calls them out on it. Any of the blackened should also definitely not be in good tier, no matter their intention. They killed someone for their own goals. (In Kaede's case she opted to take the murder route instead of catching the mastermind like Shuichi suggested) Just my opinion. Murder or the intention to murder isn't and shouldn't be classified as 'good' no matter how noble their intentions are.

Now for the grey neutral category first is kirumi,she kill ryoma because she needed to save the entire people. I put angie on the grey neutral because she literally form a cult to end a killing game but will sacrifice someone just so they can survice. Miu said some words that is bad and is kinda a bully, but she always helps others to stop the killing game, she wanted to kill kokichi because she wanted to save the world with her invention. Ryoma and maki because they killed someone in the past And rantaro because he's a ultimate survivor, he said that he is the only one alive in his last killing game so im sure he did some bad thing in that killing game. Kiyo in grey bad because he said that he almost killed 100 people of his sister and kokichi because he manipulated gonta to kill miu, i know gonta can make his on decision but kokichi play a big role on why would gonta commit it
