Without spoiling, this thing is the most divisive one in the franchise. I remember watching a streamer play through this and the ending soured him so much that he swore off playing anything made by Spike Chunsoft due to a lack of faith in their storytelling from this point forward.
I can honestly understand why they might feel that way. While DR3 hasn't gone so far as to sour me on all of their games, I still played and enjoyed AI: The Somnium Files, it has definitely made me hesitant to play past the first game in any of their franchises going forward.

Idk, after thinking about what felt strange in chapter 1, I realized I don't relate to her and preferred the other protagonists. She's not bad, just that after chapter 1, it just felt more... natural for lack of a better term.
@Hope Bagel Nah, she's so much more than just her gender. For one she actually has an amazing character arc, and she isn't even that confident anyway. She's just a huge extrovert, and that comes with its own strength and flaws.

Imagine being a series fan, imagine paying money gladly for any new game from the series, imagine liking the series so much you keep asking for a sequel because that's what fans of a series DO ...then the creator hits you with that ending. I feel insulted. Like I'm at fault for liking the series. No game ending has ever gotten me this pissed off, and I've seen some bad game endings.

Definitely my favourite game in the series. The ending was amazing, it just made sense. The perfect way to end the series and it never needs to be continued. Some more spin-offs would be great though. I want a fighting game.

Yeah... V3 was for me the best game from them all. I really agree that the characters are unique and yeah... I literally have almost half of the songs from soundtrack downloaded xD Even that I didn't played that game (I don't have PC, PS4 or any other things for the other games) I at least watched it. So yeah... now I will just wait for your opinion on chapter 5 xD

The plot twists of Chapter 1 and Chapter 6 of Danganronpa V3 are *BY FAR* the most polarizing plot twists in all the Danganronpa installments, a lot of people won't view them very favorably.
As a late fan who played the games in descending order, while there were some references that flew past me until i played the first two games, I still had a very positive experience (granted, i had some general knowledge of the series -- i truly wonder what someone without any knowledge whatsoever of DR1&2 would make of the ending of this game). I would also like to comment that starting with v3, the first game is nearly unbearable. From Naegi's line of sight being naval level to the tediousness of the narrative, it felt so flat compared to v3 and even DR2 (though I am glad I understand the 11037 meme now). I look forward to your take on v3's story~ It's one of my all-time favorites as well.
6:35 Ack, what song is this? I recognize it, but have no idea where it comes from. Oh wait, Master of Tartarus from P3. I'm honestly surprised so many people didn't even know about the demo. I seem to recall the game asking me if I had played it when I first booted the game up and told me playing it would get me some extras, so I quickly blasted through to get the perks. Which I'm glad I did, because in the PSVita version, they locked the ability to silence white noise by tapping the backscreen behind doing the demo OR buying it in the casino in chapter 2 onwards. They literally took a core feature from DR1&2 out for the demo incentive...
DRV3 may be my favorite DR out of all. The cast is so likeable and loveable (Tenko was really hard for me what with sexist creepy stalker but she's warm up to me with her FTE and at the end of chapter 3) and i also love ending twist too

Cant find the interview, but trust me on this. Not only this, but in Shuichis audition his name was blocked out. It could be implied it was to keep tthis information from Shuichi, however in the Prologue, where the Monokubs did not give them their memories, Shuichi popped right all out and i introduced himself as Shuichi Saihara. The whole prologue is flawed if everything Tsumugi said was true. She could have easily set up all the audition tapes in her lab. Adding on to the prologue being flawed, no one showed any evidence of having completely different personalities. Kaede had some different dialogue, as she was more rough with Shuichi before the flashback lights. Gonta and Kokichi's body language also hinted out different personalities, but that is about it. Also, no one knew of the situation they were in. In chapter 6, they showed a "flashback" of kaede excitedly asking if they were "chosen". However... that didnt happen at all in the prologue. Rantaro and Kaede are the only ones who showed any knowledge of the Monokubs. Maybe in this universe, it IS a thing, but clearly its not as big as Tsumugi made it out to be. So yeah, just food for thought.

Aside from that, thank you for making me discover one of my favorite games ever, your videos on Danganronpa became a powerful enough excuse to motivate me to finally get through the series, and after experiencing all of the games and the anime, it became something really special to me (even though I got the masterminds of 1 and V3 spoiled, as well as the big ending plot twist of 2, the games were compelling enough to make me not care about it and still be thrilled at the time these things were revealed). V3 is definitely what I would consider a « perfect game » to me (100% subjective of course, I know of the flaws this game has). It has a cast I absolutely love, a story that kept me engaged, an amazing soundtrack and a lot of fun content to chew on even after finishing it, and I personally love the ending, which mixed with the thematic of lies this game play with from beginning to end makes it so that there’s an incredible potential for speculations and fan theories.
Great vid! V3 was the only danganronpa I played (mostly because I watched your videos on 1 and 2) and I'm glad I got to it. Although I did not enjoy the ending as much as you seem to, so I'm looking forward to your take on it in the spoiler video!
I’ve seen a lot of your videos and your taste in video games are like mine so I just couldn’t help but subscribe. The xeno 2 memes just pushed me to that button.
I have such a burning ire for V3 despite having preordered it and played it at launch, only to then finish it on new years eve instead of actually celebrating with anyone. Every chapter I kept trying to tell myself that the game was fine and that it would get better. But its flaws just kept adding up more and more til i hit my breaking point at the last chapter. I love danganronpa as a whole franchise so much and invested a lot of tome in all of its different titles. But to me the main story part of V3 was about the worst it has ever been. Which is saying a lot given the fact that some of my abosulte favorite characters of all time are part of this game.
Looking forward to the next video! But one thing i wanted to ask, knowing that you love AA, was if you were ever knew about the Dai gyakuten saiban games. They're sort of a spinoff in that they take place in the late 1800s and have a unique cast, but the games were never localised. The first game has a fan translation and is avaliable to play, search up The Scarlet Study for it. There is also a translated youtube playthrough. As for the second game, the Scarlet Study is working on it. The way I saw it was a steamer that played the japanese version but had a translated script and read it aloud. Im a really big fan of AA myself and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, these games are the best in the franchise. Best music too, this game legitimately has one of the best OSTs ive ever heard before.
I'm glad that you mentioned the other content there, because having just (and I mean literally just, like today) finished the game's main story I had no desire to ever return to the game because of how bad of a taste it left for me. These other modes might actually be things I'm interested in, so maybe I'll actually go back to play those sometime. Thanks for talking about them.

What if they made a murder where. The person you figure would have done it during the trial process was actually not the ine that did it. But made it seem like it to protect the one that actually did it. And it wasnt so easy to know. As in from the start u think it could be someone else from the coincidences. Then just before the wrong person is convicted you figure out
Why doesn't he like her? She's not the worst loli in the series. At least imo. I found her to be one of the more likeable characters in V3 because of her whole arc after chapter 3. Just curious is all.

You just have to bring up that painful moment. I live close to Atlanta and during class at the time my professor who is a huge patriots fan just had to rub it in the day after. Man, I was so hoping the Falcons would have won. Full on despair.
I genuinely believe that 15/16 of the students are not ultimates but people tricked into thinking that they were ultimates by the- well... A certain series of devices. They were all good at something but not so good that they would be considered ultimates. I mean, if you took Shuichi and Kyoko and gave them 1000 different cases, who do you think will solve them first, better and more thoroughly every single time? I mean, Himiko demonstrates this perfectly well. So this killing game is mostly normal people who believe they have ultimate talents when really, they just have normal talents and every single character bar the actual ultimate is on some level, relatable, normal and understandable. Including the most popular character of V3, yes even him!
V3 is my least favorite of the franchise. I don't think it's a terrible game at all, but my favorite aspects of Danganronpa are the characters and the story, and we all know how divisive this game is on those subjects. In my experience, none of the characters clicked to me, and I saw A LOT of plot holes and lost opportunities that really bothered me, even in my first playthrough.
