Best trailer so far. It was awesome and the music was out of this world, the Tomcat showcase was excellent and to top it all off this teaser was released around the same time as the new Top Gun movie which is an amazing coincidence.
No this can't be real... She's gorgeous! The Tomcat finally made it into War Thunder! Shame you couldn't license "Danger Zone" for the trailer but oh well
Gaijin decided to cheap out. Don't get me wrong, Neoni is awesome and they deserve a lot of credit (yet they haven't given them credit), but Dangerzone would've been better
the tomcat especially with the phoenix is gonna be so bad in game (breaking-wise) but i’m hyped for the big pet to finally be here. i like the name of the season too, one more day for the new Top Gun! Edit: New comment like record thx guys

As an Italy main, I'm really hoping for the Tornado IDS or ADV in this update, now that the F-14 is confirmed. With my luck, we'll be the last one to get anything good though. The supposed "leak" list had one for Germany and UK, but not Italy, so I really hope that's not real.
I've gotta say, the team that's making these videos is doing an absolutely amazing job and deserves a pat on the back. Super stoked for the F-14 and whatever else this update brings.
ill get you in on a secret if ya ever notices researching a planes whole tier of mods it gives you a bonus ammount of rp and you can use this to grind anything tbh for the higher tier planes the ammount is very very high
I just played the song over this trailer and it literally is not even close to being perfectly in time. Some of the cuts happen to be on beat, but more importantly the flow of the trailer is not even close to the flow of the song.
You guys may want to look into the alpha sorting on the pilots visors, as they're rendering in front of the cockpit glass, 0:30 is the clearest example, been like that for a while. Insane trailer though.
It is the same issue with smoke from ESS on tanks and the smoke generator of ships, where the ESS output is visible through the smoke (at least at long ranges), and the smoke from ships is visible from the sky through thick cloud cover.
Its super surprising that this drops together with the movie I bet no one saw this incredible plot twist coming. Wonder how it's gonna shift the meta/make it worse. But hey at least we got a lovely cinematic as compensation :)
@@alvarito7523 Depends on how they implement the firing system. If they do the tomcat justice and give it it's ability to fire 6 54's in TWS so the 6 unfortunate souls 50 miles away have no idea they have been launched on until the missile goes active on top of them....Not much to counter. I imagine we are going to see a very "modified" tomcat. Get your notch game polished up and hide in the filter. 54's aren't the most maneuverable of missiles.
Would be neat if they added RIOs to war thunder. Join a squad for sim, one person chooses to be pilot and the other RIO. If only one person in the squad has the plane they're the pilot and the second person is forced to be RIO

Very impressed with the carrier designs! Please please please, add a game mode around carriers! Seriously fleet battles would be absolutely amazing as a game mode in both ww2 themed carriers and modern ones. Here's how it would work. Both teams have one or more AI carriers and the team objective is to keep your carrier safe and destroy the enemies. Game mode would involve long range interceptors, scouts, battleships etc. I could easily see this becoming the most played game mode in War Thunder if implemented properly.
So...have you tried Naval Enduring Confrontation yet? Has all of what you just mentioned, and let me tell you, the AI carriers are ganked almost immediately. Granted everyone is off doing something else, but still. Try it out sometime.
Oh you want naval battles? Here, have the same map from 3 yrs ago in which T2s got a supersonic airspawn less than a minute away from an island where the F-86s are still taking off, except now with even faster jets
The thing is we all have an emotional conection with this aircraft especially if you like top gun but this music encapsolates that emotion and love for this beaty of a machine fully
Unless they balance it by adding other 4th gen keys like the mig 29 or su 27 the very early versions ofc, or the tornados for UK, Germany and Italy, pretty much the jets that I can think of that can balance the tomcats Edit: you know what, gib F-15 or f16 then gib panavia and mig

Although many say they are disappointed that Gaijin didn't manage to get the actual Danger Zone song licensed for this, after watching the video with the actual song behind it, I gotta admit... this is better. It's more cinematic and epic, it fits the cuts perfectly and it gave me goosebumps throughout the entire thing, even when watching it the 3rd time. Well chosen track!
I wanted to say something simillar, the calmer parts of the song with cinematic parts of trailer moving into action with more stuff happening. Very good choice of a song.
I have to admit you are right, it really does work well especially in that first minute of the trailer (first forty seconds are my favourite). I hate buying things in game but I might buy this.
Kind of interested in how the AN/AWG-9 and AIM-54 will be modeled ... the tiny maps that make up most of Air RB pretty much mean you'll be shooting airfield to airfield unless they make some changes (or the modeling is wonky)
At low altitude, the aim-54s range is severely reduced bc of its weight and size, so even on smaller maps it shouldn’t be an issue. The thing to worry about it the fact that tomcats have an ability to launch without actually locking a target, and then let the missile lock on once it’s close.
The advertised range applies at high altitude, at high speed, so near sea level at Mach 1.1 or lower it’s only going to be able to hit targets within 20 miles that are closing. At least that’s how it works in DCS, I’m a RIO in a squadron 😂
@@noahlagoe1704 in Air RB Air fields are around 45km apart. When you take off, you will already be Able to lock 6 enemy planes Taking off, fire all Phoenix's and land. F-14 won't work in this game with current maps
you'd just have to get a decent teammate cause if you don't you're pretty much doing a 2v1 or even worse a 4v3/4v2/4v1 which wouldn't be fun but the idea is great
Unpopular opinion: Phoenix won’t be game breaking. It’ll function similar to the AIM7F in game currently but just as a fox3 instead of a fox1. Nobody fights at 30k+ feet so it’s full advantages won’t be realized. Need EC map size for Phoenix to really shine
Its a very large diamater missile with low maneuverability, will be fine at alt with proxy fuse to make up the difference. At low alt you would have to be disabled to die to that thing at close range
I really hope to see counterparts to the tomcat for other nations eg tornado IDS/GR1 Mirage200 Mig 29 so that it's not literally going to be a danger zone for everyone but the tomcat The update teasers are getting better and better, really nice animation and music, well done gaijin 👍🏼
Mig-29 might be too much, but Mig-25/31 seems fair. Well if a new BR bracket will be opened for these planes im pretty sure the better missile will be deciding the fight
@@55.... MiG25 was a high speed interceptor with a long stick (missile) and a unique radar. While the F14 wasn't /just/ an interceptor, it certainly filled that role quite well, and had a long stick, and a unique radar. Thing is, the F14 isn't JUST an interceptor, it was a total air supremacy platform. The MiG25 is a brick of you expect to turn it and was never intended to fight a turn fight.
by this point the best solution would be to seperate props and jets and create jet only tree for people that want to play exclusively jets WT would be so much better if it would be B2P game

I'm seriously freaking out for this. I have loved watching the evolution of War Thunder over the past 6 years of my personal gameplay. Just incredible we have gotten to this stage. Great job.. *I've watched this probably about 50 times now. Man this is such a great feeling of excitement.

@@handtomouth4690 It's broken. There's no other words to describe it. The economy, gamemode, graphics, maps, overall balance... all needs a rework. And a big one. The fanbase that is still there is mostly players who only knows Warthunder and never play anything else. The sad thing is they keep giving money despite complaining.

Please War Thunder, one thing would make it perfect: change the way the pilot looks. An early jet pilot can’t be flying a F-14, make the pilot look more like Maverick

Bold of them to exist anywhere on an Air RB map That being said with how things work out there’s probably going to be full F-14 teams on both sides so it won’t matter… the F-14s will cancel each other out lol

Even though the game has many, MANY flaws and problems at the moment, i cant help looking forward to the next update. I hope once they run out of vehicles to add, they will work more on the gameplay and modes
Problem is they will never run out they have skipped soo many vehicles in early ww2 alone, let alone mid-late and then many post war vehicles skipped to not just with in game nations but other nations too this is all done on purpose so they can go back once they reach the most modern stuff and continue adding stuff to the game till they can add the latest releases of vehicles, they basically have an endless supply of stuff to add using this strategy
