Quick little notes for the homie Shawn cena about this album: this was funded by adult swim, doom and adult swim has always had a pretty tight relationship up until recently with the notebook album scandal, but that’s why in that boondocks episode where Huey fought boshido brown there were two songs from madvillany and numerous other examples I’m too lazy to right down. Also meatwad at the end was rapping a verse off of beef rapp from mm food which I thought was really clever. And alsoly listen to the mad lib version of space ho’s, it’s dope. thank you man I’ve been waiting on this one for a while, have a blessed day

Danger Mouse produced the album, and was half of Gnarls Barkley, which brought the CeeLo feature and the name Mouse in the Mask, like Madlib and Madvilliany. DOOM has album titles on another poetic level. Album titles dude. He’s the best DOOM is the best

On the MF DOOM is timeless thing you brought up: Gorillaz's Demon Days introduced me to MF DOOM and since then I've been hooked. Even in 2018, with a collab album with CZARFACE and an upcoming Bishop Nehru album that's fully produced by MF DOOM and KAYTRANADA, MF DOOM still has a sound that I think won't ever get old. This is my personal opinion but I'm open to what you think

The most fun rap album ever? Possibly. Also you should check out some other projects Danger Mouse, who was the producer on this album, has worked. Man can music with best of them. Also there is a fun album by ASM that I believe is called the Jade Medallion. Amazing album that uses hip hop to tell the story or a warrior searching for his purpose in life. Great stuff. Uh, and Deltron 3030. Check out Deltron 3030. And Aesop Rock. And maybe Sage Francis! Great video and thanks for doing these.

I've listened to Madvillainy so much my brain will leave me if I play it one more time. This album gave me something new to listen to listen to. It didn't hit me hard the first time but now I can't stop playing it. It's something I've noticed with him, his work just kinda... grows on you. You aren't blown away initially but in a few weeks, you'll be obsessed. I'm so glad I found him.

It wasnt just athf references. They got pretty much any popular adult swim show from 2001-2004 to be used as a sample or reference. Its part of what made this album so fun for me because i was watching the shows he referenced. I got into doom because of it

Hey Shawn! Yoo just to let you know this project was a collaborative project with producer Danger Mouse (one half of Gnarles Barkley). He does all of the production for the Gnarles Barkley albums. Hence the combined name "DANGER-DOOM." Similar to Madvillain with Doom & god/producer Madlib.

Shawn you should listen to SOUR SOUL. It's a collab with Ghostface Killah and BADBADNOTGOOD. One of my favorite projects of all time. Super soulful and laid back, and provides a lot of food for thought.

Nujabes - Modal soul ( Japanese hip hop at its finest) OutKast - ATLiens ( for 96 this album is SO ahead of its time) The roots - The tipping point ( such a beautiful production and black thought is one of the most underrated lyracist) Digable Planets - reachin ( This group is considered one hit wonders and the album just show they are so much more)

i love the beats doom produces cuz it's most authentic to his style. it sounds like its straight out of a comic book.

I've listened to most DOOM album too many fucking times since I heard him at first 5-6 years ago, Mm Food and Madvillainy easily over 100 times each. But if I put on any album that it's been a few months since I heard, I get stunned when I put something on, amazed over how good everything about it is and filled with excitment over how many insanly good albums he got, like I just heard some completely new music with a totally original sound that I've never heard before but fall in love with instantly. Never experienced anything like that, except maybe hearing something that I loved once upon a time, but haven't heard for 10 something years and get reminded of how good it is
