Khamzat wrestling is better there’s a reason DC couldn’t make the Olympic team or out wrestle Jon jones, nobody can even lift Khamzata leg let alone take him down in the UFC
I was at that fight. My buddy got the coolest picture of DC having Alexander upside down while he was flipping him. Got to meet Dana lmao, got to meet dillashaw, pettis, buffer, herb Dean, ring card girls, it was fuckin awesome and this comment brought back the memories 😢
“This is Chechen work” was just Khamzat’s way of saying that DC’s move isn’t compatible with the style of wrestling that Khamzat is trying to teach Darren. It had nothing to do with any nation’s superiority. Many Dagestani wrestling coaches probably would have said a similar thing and cited their own Olympic success (which likely includes wins over Daniel himself) as proof.
@@j.menapace625What you mean it wouldn’t work? 🤦🏽♂️ it’s just a technique bruh it’s not a whole new fighting style. You can just pull this off of a clinch or having your opponent pressed against the cage for example
@@WalkwYah Moves aren't really interchangeable. Most of what you're taught in the wrestling room is actually based on the American school of thought regarding how the sport should be played. It's also the same deal in other sports like hockey (which has separate Canadian and Russian styles of play), boxing (Russian hooks are different from Western-style hooks and are more difficult to throw), and strength sports like powerlifting and Olympic lifting where Eastern European and Chinese lifters utilize different lifting methods than Americans do. Trying to mix-and-match moves that are bases in different styles and don't work well together generally isn't a good idea. Besides, Khamzat also probably doesn't like DC just barging in and trying to undermine his authority over his athlete. Any coach worth his salt can't allow that.
@@thesoundmajors9858 sure, but don’t get fooled at fighters nice or funny moments, as if they feel slightly disrespected, they’ll break your head. They’re not RU-vidrs , they’re people that earn a living out of beating up people
@@leatherloafers nobody asserts dominance over Jon Jones though, dudes a monster. Losing to Jones is like losing to Khabib, at this point it’s like “of coarse he did”
@@ppvplug3940 Don’t underestimate what a lifetime of wrestling and martial arts can do to your body. Hardens tf out of it. Boy he was a former Olympian he could get off the couch and have a competitive match w most heavyweights (wrestling)
He didn’t ask for it. If I came up to you and gave you advice on doing better in life because I make more money than you, I’m sure you wouldn’t appreciate it either. It’s less disrespectful in this situation but he still doesn’t owe him his time
@@PartyboyDanny ye but your not an ex world champ so no I wouldn’t value your advice! Khamzat chimaev struggled against Gilbert burns but he talking about title shots😂 if I was him I’d stop hyping myself up
@@synthtastic74 yea but on average dagistanis are usually better at wrestling than chechens... so many of them won gold at olympics, currently the best p4p wreslter is a dagestani
If DC was going for real, Chimaev would offer the same resistance you or I would. Khamzat is a national level champ, Cormier was captain of his nation’s team at the absolute pinnacle of the sport
For sure and definitely one of the greatest wrestlers to EVER fight in the UFC. The majority of the comment sections seems to understand this but there are still people who really believe Khamzat wouldn't get sonned in a wrestling match against DC LOL
Ill never forget watcjing cormeir wrestling against cal poly when i was a sophmore in high school, jon smith smith yelled at him to pin him and he threw his opponent with an over under and pinned him seconds after his coach yelled to him, hes a freak athlete for sure
^ Same weight or not, Chimaev ends up on his ass 10 of 10 times. DC is an elite world-class American wrestler. He would fold Chimaev like a pretzel without breaking a sweat. There’s levels.
@@deyh5664 at the same weight he'd still dominate. He used to wrestle at like 185. He's an Olympic champ while khamzat is only the best in Sweden which isn't known for a great wrestling program.
