#khabib #ufc #islam_makhachev Inside AKA gym with Khabib Nurmagomedov. Young Daniel Cormier, Cain Velasquez, Luke Rockhold, Jon Fitch, Josh Thomson and others. #Хабиб #Дагестан #Махачев
@@H982FKL-TG they probably are, like no shamed in it every gym is, and this is what like 10 years ago where a lot of current banned substance hasnt been banned yet so there is definitely legal juicing going around here, u cant fault them for it.
his father talks about the decision of letting someone else from another country unkown to him take his son, but he understood what it meant. One of the best decisions in MMA history
Nope…Dagestan was known way before khabib. That area has the most gold in wrestling in the world long before khabib was known. Khabib was known worldwide after the Conor fight which was considered recent compared to how long Dagestan has been winning gold medals
@@tricallyourmamaThat's true, but Khabib definitely put Dagestan on the map when it comes to MMA and the mainstream. Wrestling is still a niche sport with a limited exposure, and even within the sport most people just knew Dagestani wrestlers as "Russians" and not many were aware of Dagestan as a distinct place. He definitely made Dagestan more known worldwide, and inspired a whole generation of MMA fighters from there.
@@saadx7724 Yeah i didnt even know there was a country named Dagestan before, but then again I never followed wrestling or MMA until Conor was talking sht to everyone
@@stephenmiriaja4322 That's a stupid statement, there's a reason Khabib joined AKA and trained with the likes of DC. There's always room for improvement, take it from the man himself lol
@@stephenmiriaja4322 lol no the fuck he didnt. u muslim illogical fucks need to get with reality. Theres a reason the best dagis are the small group who went to AKA. Their striking got way better...their grappling got much better for mma..just watch khabibs early fights he culd not PIN guys for shit lmao. Cormier/Fitch and guys at AKA taught them a lot. Get over it. They had a good base but nowhere close to what they turned into due to AMERICA and AKA
Of course DC is elite when it comes to MMA. Not to mention his wrestling credentials are better than Khabib’s or Islam’s. Dude literally finished 4th Olympic wrestling. Not many people at his level when it comes to wrestling or MMA.
@@stephenmiriaja4322 sambo alone is different from mma wrestling buddy, you could be world class at sambo ,judo and bjj, but mma grappling/wrestling is different ball game and Cormier is the shit on that department. If bones didn't exist and cain velasquez didn't fight at heavyweight way back, he could have been the greatest of all time.
it is insane this guy has over 100 matches in east, but when he comes here he accepts he is a student and always open to learning. his morals are awesome.
@@FredrickHoxinville casual statement. Young Khabib beat prime RDA before he became a champ. And only 2 his opponents had negative records. For your information, many champs like Kamaru Usman and Conor McGregor lost to people with negative records
Eh, TUF is a show and UFC is a business. “One big happy family” doesn’t make for good TV, and doesn’t sell PPVs like discord and fighting does. Just the way of the world.
Like Dominic Toretto said in the fast and furious movies,” I don't have friends. I got family.” That’s probably the reason for they have so many champions…
True! I will say they're arguably even better now though with Abdulmanap's students coming there. Makhachev current UFC champion, Usman Nurmagomedov current Bellator champion (and future UFC champion no doubt), Umar Nurmagomedov future UFC champion, lots of talent still there.
@@solus47 I don't hate Luke at all. He was a massively underrated champion. I just wish he wouldn't try to talk like a mysterious samurai who can only communicate in riddles
Luke is a big middleweight with some fights at light heavyweight; DC is a light heavyweight/heavyweight. They were two to four weight classes above him at all times and he kept wrestling them. When he wrestled someone his own size, it was completely one-sided even back then. You can also see Luke gassing and struggling to breathe vs Khabib. They still contributed a lot and helped him settle in, coached and trained him, but if they were the same size, it would've been a completely different look.
This was the infamous AKA days where so many fighters got injured there yet it bred so many champions at the same time. I know the saying is old but the first time I heard “iron sharpens iron” was from this gym. I can’t imagine the scary sparring sessions at that time.
The guy that was mostly injured all the time was Cain and that was because of some of his stupid weight lifting exercises. I don't believe it was training. I've seen his ridiculously heavy leg presses and then obviously he ended up with shitty knees.
It's like watching home videos lol Khabib a great example for all men to be faithful to religion, people, fighters, enemies, thier wives and the best human being on this earth💯
DC is a freaking legend. While grappling/wrestling, he just handles Khabib like a newbie. Given his height, he took on monsters and dominated most of them.
agreed, only lost to 2 dudes both 6'4, and even managed to KO one of them once at least. crazy doing that at 5'9 and quite frankly, overweight in body fat
@@ryansinging cormiers 5'10 and weighs 230lbs+ and an olympian. He prob the most skilled 205/HW .He was 41 when he lost to stipe. Jones is great but he clearly has an insane physicality
@@maquacr7014 khabib started his mma career as a lightweight. 70 kg (154 lbs) at 1:04 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BiNyE9ivLk4.htmlsi=v2yluYPPY8TSAd33
@@maquacr7014 khabib’s wiki page and other sources state that he started as a lightweight too. There is no other sources (besides Tony Ferguson who just hates Khabib (btw Tony was a welterweight himself)) that say otherwise
100% that's what I thought ... the way he showed us all the AKA was awesome ... I never saw it before but the new goat was excited to show his new home
Crazy to think they all at some point would have thought "will this all hardwork pay off" And they would have kept training hard and became champions keep working hard boys your time gonna come ❤
Rockhold was really good looking... Also, no wonder Khabib got that good, you have that beast Cormier teaching you. He was one of the best if not the best in adapting wrestling into MMA, Cormier was something else.
Skinny DC with hair, Rockhold looking like a male performer in a 🏳️🌈 adult film, Cain with no felonies, and Khabib with an English vocabulary consisting only of "ok brothur" and "crazy guy." These were funnest times to be a UFC fan
I love that you can see him open up once he’s proved himself at the gym lol. I would kill to see the look on peoples face when they first saw him training. I bet the regulars at that gym were befuddled when such and amazing talent came in with a crazy back story of being undefeated from Dagestan.
it benefits them all actually, khabib got to learn some skills with AKA. and the other members got to learn some unfimiliar skills from khabib too during training or sparring. maybe sambo and judo.
i wish these guys would put out more footage like this. I know alot of training footage can be used against them, but when dudes are retired show us the secret sauce bruh!!1
No one came close to beating khabib. He may have been able to be 50-0. But he’s a man of principle and decided not to fight without his father by his side.
Man, I guess I didn’t realize just how long Khabib and DC have been friends. Luke Rockhold looks like a 20 year old kid in this video, this had to be Strikeforce days.
